Ch.27: Talent Show

~Domino High~
“So this is the place that you guys woke us up for and on a Saturday.” Kayra said.

“Come on! I think its still going.” Kia said as she grabbed Kayra's wrists and ran to the auditorium.

“What's still going?” Bakura asked as everyone else followed the two.

“You'll see Kura-san.” Ryou said with a sweet smile, which almost made Bakura fall, but ran while trying to hide his deep red blush.

When they reached the entrance, there was a woman sitting behind the desk, she looked like she's in her mid-thirty's with extremely short hazelnut hair and ivy green eyes.

“You guys go on ahead and find a seat, me and the guys will meet you there.” Kia said, trying to sound convincing, which worked.

“Alright, little lotus, we'll see you inside then.” Kayra said as she and the other three went inside.

Kia and the others walked up to the woman, who was reading a magazine, and handed a piece of paper to her.

~Inside~
The four found the auditorium packed with people.

“How are we able to find seats?” Bakura said.

“Might as well look around and hope that there's at least a few good seats.” Kayra said as she moved foreward, so did the others.

“Hey!” A voice called out.

“That sounded like Alysia.” Marik said as they heard it again.

“Hey! Over here!” Alysia was waving both of her arms in the air.

“That is Alysia.” Bakura said, a bit surprised.

“Come on. I think she saved us a few seats.” Atemu said as he started to quickly go over towards Alysia.

When they got there, she wasn't alone.

“Hey.” Moukaba said. “What's up?”

“Fine, thank-you.” Kayra said.

Alysia, who was wearing a dark green shirt with pink lettering that said `EYE CANDY' on it and blue jeans, sat down at her seat. “Don't stand there like a bunch of statues, sit down.” She said pointing to four empty seats.

“I think we're going to get more than four seats.” Marik said.

Alysia looked at them for a moment. “They didn't tell you, did they?” She said.

“Tell us what?” Bakura said, confused.

“See all those people out there.” She said pointing.

“Yeah, so.” Bakura said.

“Do you know why they're here?” She said, which gave everyone a confused look. “Today's the talent show.”

Everyone, except Atemu, were completely lost.

“And what's so special about today that involves the young ones?” Kayra asked.

“Because they're a part of the show.” Atemu said, making everyone look at him.

“You know about this?” Marik said.

“I heard that they signed up to take a part of this, but I didn't know that it started today.” The once Pharaoh explained.

“So, why would they ask us to come along then?” Bakura said.

“For support.” Alysia said. “Now sit down so I could explain how this crazy show works.”

Once they sat down, Alysia took a deep breath before she begins. “First off, most of these audience are student's here, therefore, they are the judges of who is good and who is lame.” She pointed to the borderline between students and visitors. “Next, each person or group performs their talent to empress the crowd. When they start to perform, they can't screw up, other wise they are booed off the stage and become the laughing stock the next day.”

The lights began to dim and the stage lit up to begin the show. After two comedy acts, three magic tricks, and an animal trick, which were pretty good, until one act was harshly booed off when the person had stage fright. They were worried about the others, especially Atemu, since Yugi is the lead singer.

“And now, for our last contestants.” The announcer said through the mic. “Give around of applause for the music group act, `Millinia Light'!”

They saw the others, Malik at the center back on the drums, Ryou at the left of Malik on the guitar, Kia at the right with the keyboard, and Yugi at the center front of the stage with a mic in hand.

“This song is called `White Flag' by Dido” Yugi said as the opening beat started up. He took a deep breath and started to sing right on cue with the background music.

“I know you think that I shouldn't still love you, I'll tell you that.
But if I didn't say it, will I still have felt it, where's the sense in that?
I promise I'm not trying to make your life harder or return to where we were.

I will go down with this ship,
And I won't put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I'm in love and always will be.”

As the others were listening, Atemu was completely lost in listening to Yugi's voice. `Such a beautiful voice.' He thought.

“I know I left too much mess and destruction to come back again
And I cause nothing but trouble
I'll understand if you can't talk to me again
And if you live by the rules of `it's over' then I'm sure that makes sense.

I will go down with this ship,
And I won't put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I'm in love and always will be.”

Alysia looked over and saw the dazed look in Atemu's eyes. `This is interesting, but I can't jump to conclusions yet.'

“And when we meet, which I'm sure we will
All that was there, will be there still
I'll let it pass and hold my tongue,
And you will think that I moved on

I will go down with this ship,
And I won't put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I'm in love and always will be.”

Yugi continued with the chorus two more times until he finished. He and the others heard a huge applause and bowed before they walked of the stage.

“That's all everyone, students, would you please cast your vote in before you leave.” The announcer said.

~Outside~
The four waited for their young look-alikes to come out and congratulate them on their performance. When the teens got out, they ran towards them. Kia was the first to reach them as she hugged Kayra.

“You were great today, all of you were.” Kayra said as the others agreed.

“Let's get something to eat.” Malik said. “I'm starving.”

“You sound like Jou now.” Ryou said.

Everyone laughed and they headed out to the front gates.

Atemu placed a hand on Yugi's shoulder, which caught his attention.

“What's up Atemu?” Yugi asked.

“I just wanted to say you were great out there.” Atemu said as he felt his heart going a bit faster.

“Thanks Atemu.” Yugi said as he tried to fight back a flush. “We better catch up with the others, or we'll be left behind.” He absentmindedly grabbed the others hand as they ran towards the others.

Atemu was flushing out of control as they ran to catch up. `Why do I feel this way? And only to Yugi?' He thought.
