Ch.32: Nightmare

 

Around one o' clock in the morning, Yugi tossed and turned, his once relaxed face, now showed fear. Atemu slowly woke up by the shaking movements of the bed. Then, at that moment, Yugi screamed.

 

-Atemu's POV-

“AHHH!!!” Yugi screamed, which caused me to awake with a start.

 

“Aibou! Aibou wake up!” I said.

 

The door opened and Solomon was there, with light blue p.j.'s with matching nightcap.

 

“What's going on in here!?” He said as Yugi screamed more.

 

“Aibou! It's okay just wake up!” I said, hoping that it will go through, but failed to do so.

 

“Atemu, can you explain what is wrong with Yugi?” Solomon said, concerned and worried.

 

“I'm not completely sure.” I said as I held the other's shivering body. “But I think he's having a nightmare that he's having trouble waking up from.”

 

He continued to scream as Solomon and I tried to wake him.

 

“No! Not Atemu! AGHHH!!!” Yugi screamed.

 

“OPEN YOUR EYES YUGI!!!!!” I shouted with everything I got.

 

Yugi's eyes shot open and was panting heavily. “I-it's just a dream?” He quietly said.

 

“Yugi are you alright?” Solomon said in concern.

 

“I-I think so.” He said as he took a deep breath.

 

“Aibou, what was all that about?” I asked quietly, since my throat was sore for shouting like that. He looked up at me with those innocent eyes. `Gods he's beautiful, wait, did I… oh forget it.' I thought to myself.

 

“Atemu,” He said with a small, weak smile, “it was just a bad dream, it was nothing major.”

 

I knew he tried to drop the subject.

 

“But Yugi, y-“ Solomon was about to press the matter, but I gave him a knowing look. “Ah, never mind, we should all go to bed, good night you two.” He walked out of the door after that.

 

`I don't get that old man sometimes.' I thought as I turn my attention to Yugi. “I know you're lying Aibou.” I said as he looked up to me again.

 

“It's nothing really.” He said.

 

“Aibou.” I said, not buying it.

 

He sighed in defeat. “There's no getting pass you is there?” He said, I just smirked, because it's true, for the most part. (A/N: Riiggghhtt.)

 

“Alright, if you want to know, it started out okay…”

 

~Yugi's Dream~

-Yugi's POV-

I walked through the park and then to an open field, where I saw everyone.

 

“'Ey Yug, `bout time ya got `ere!” Jou said waving his arms.

 

The weather was bright and warm, a perfect summer day.

 

“Come on over Yugi!” Ryou said, sitting in the shade next to Bakura, who was asleep on his lap.

 

I walked over and greeted everyone. “Hello.”

 

“Hey Yugi.” Kia and Alysia said in unison.

 

“Well, look what the cat dragged in.” Malik said as he stroked Marik's hair, who was lying in his lap.

 

“Would ya put dat laptop of yours away already!” Jou yelled at Seto, who was in the shade with the laptop, just typing away.

 

“Be patient my puppy, I will be done soon.” Seto said.

 

“Why do I always put up wid ya shit!” Jou said, annoyed.

 

“Because you love him no matter what.” Alysia said as she played with Moukaba's hair, which he seems to enjoy.

 

“What's going on over here?” Kayra said, holding a lei of wild flowers.

 

“Nothing much.” Kia said. “Just Jou making a big deal that Seto is working too much.” She smiled up to her as she smiled back.

 

“I see that Yugi has decided to join.” Kayra said.

 

I smiled and waved.

 

“What the hell is your problem!” Said a voice form behind.

 

“That sounded like Tristan.” Ryou said.

 

“My problem!? What about your problem!” Said another voice.

 

“And Duke.” Malik said.

 

“Great, the infamous bickering gay couple in all of Domino.” Bakura said as the two emerged from the trees.

 

“Oh, don't go through with that crap with me, asshole!” Tristan shouted.

 

“You're the asshole here!” Duke shouted back.

 

“Oi.” Jou said. “Hey assholes! Why don't ya drop your crap and chill wid us `ere!”

 

The two looked over, then at each other, then they walked over.

 

“How's everyone doing today?” Duke asked.

 

“We're doing fine, thank-you.” Moukaba said.

 

“That's good.” Tristan said as he looked around. “Hey Yugi, where's that Atemu guy that usually hangs around with you?”

 

I looked around as well, also noticing that Atemu was nowhere in sight. “I don't know.” I said. “I came here by my self.”

 

“Don't worry.” Marik said. “I'm sure that idiot Pharaoh would turn up sooner or later.”

 

“What about me?” A deep baritone voice came from the darkest part of the park.

 

Atemu appeared behind the tree and stepped into the light so that he was visible. I quickly got up and ran towards him, when I got there, I hugged him and he hugged back.

 

“Where have you been Atemu?” I asked.

 

“I needed some time to think Aibou.” He said as his features soften.

 

“About what?” I asked with curiosity.

 

He was silent for a while and looked over at the group, who gave him a look that I couldn't' describe. He grabbed my shoulders and backed up just a little.

 

“This isn't going to be easy for me to tell you.” He said with a look as though he came to a decision.

 

“I'm listening.” I said, looking at him straight in the eye.

 

He took a deep breath, as he prepared to say something. “Yugi, I-“ He began to say until the sky began to darken.

 

“What da hell!?” Jou said when everything, from the ground to the tree's branches, began to die.

 

“I finally found you Pharaoh.” Said a deep voice.

 

“Show yourself!” Atemu shouted as he pulled me into a protective embrace.

 

A dark figure came from behind one of the dead trees. The figure seemed human, but, at the same time, looked like some kind of creature. The figure was around seven feet tall and had piercing golden eyes.

 

“What do you want from me.” Atemu demanded and looked as though he is ready to kill.

 

“You know what I want.” The figure said as he opened his hand and looked over at the others. Before I knew it, they were gone, as if they never existed. He looked back over to us. He chanted some spell that caused the shadows to form all around.

 

I was pushed out of the way as the shadows began to strike. I looked over and saw Atemu struggling, I got up to help, but then my body became completely numb and couldn't move.

 

“And now, for what I've waited for 5,000 years for…” The figure said as he placed his hands over Atemu's face and chanted a spell. Atemu's body became limb as the chant ended and a small, golden orb came out of his body. “Your soul, is mine.” The figure said as he laughed.

 

`No! Not Atemu!'

 

“OPEN YOUR EYES YUGI!!!”

~End of Dream~

 

-Normal POV-

“And that's it.” Yugi said as he looked up at the other, who was looking at him.

 

Atemu nodded his head. “I can see why it scared you.” He said. “But you need to get some rest.”

 

“So do you.” Yugi said making the other chuckle. “Atemu.”

 

“What is it?” Atemu asked.

 

“You could let go of me now.” Yugi said with a slight blush.

 

Atemu blushed as he released the other from his grasp. “Sorry about that.” He said hiding his blush.

 

Yugi chuckled. “That's all right.” He said. “Well, good night.” He went to his side of the bed, but still close enough with Atemu, then he quickly went to sleep.

 

“Good night.” Atemu said as he settled under the covers.

 

“Atemu.” Yugi said quietly.

 

“Hn?”

 

“Thanks.”

 

“For what?” Atemu asked.

 

“For being there for me.” Yugi said, as his heart started to race.

 

Atemu smiled and chuckled quietly. “Anytime, Aibou, anytime.”

 

What they don't know is that Grandpa eavesdropped on the whole thing. `Well, well, it looks as though there's more to those two then I thought.' He thought as he quietly walked to his room. `It's jus a matter of time until one of them confess.'

 

When Grandpa left, a shadowed figure shifted in the hallway. The figure went into the bedroom and floated towards the sleeping pharaoh. It raised it's hand and tried to grab his neck, until Yugi stirred and the figure retreated to the shadow's.

 

Yugi awoke, seeing that, once again, he's holding the other in his arms. `There was another part in my dream.' He thought as he leaned over and kissed lightly on Atemu's lips. (A/N: Yugi made the first move, and Atemu's not awake to see it! Oi!)

 

~Dream~

“Yugi, I love you.” Atemu said, just before the sky darken.

~End of Dream~

 

He backed up slowly so that he doesn't wake the other. `I love you Atemu.' He thought. `I hope you feel the same, if not, then I will continue to love you, even though I may never have you as my own.' He fell asleep.

 

The figure, who witnesses this, gave out an evil smirk as he disappeared to a different realm. “It seems that I found your weak spot, Pharaoh.” It said. “Your soul will be mine, and I will use the little one to do so.” The figure laughed crazily as he started to plan Atemu's downfall.
