Ch.38: Accepted

 

Atemu ran out of the mall, almost knocking his friends down, like a bunch of bowling pins, and out into the crowded streets.

 

“What the hell is his problem?” Marik said as he got up. “He looks as though his pants were on fire or something.”

 

“He does seem to be acting odd today.” Bakura said, wiping of the dirt off his shirt.

 

At that moment, Alysia ran up to them, panting. “Where… Is… He…” She said.

 

“If you mean Atemu, he just left the mall.” Kayra said. “Do you know what's wrong with him?”

 

“Oh sure, I could tell you that the thick-headed Pharaoh has finally realized that he's in love with Yugi.” Alysia said.

 

“He forgot his outfit, didn't he?” Bakura said as Alysia held up the bag.

 

“Well, we might as well give it back to him then.” Kayra said as they walked out of the building.

 

“It's about time the Pharaoh found someone.” Marik said as the others agreed. “Otherwise I would set him up with some slut.” He laughed, which got him three bumps on the head from the others.

 

~Somewhere in Domino~

Atemu continued to run, even though the pain that's riding up his leg is almost unbearable and the rude comments from the people he passed through the park. He slowed to a stop when he saw the Game Shop in view.

 

“Okay, you're here, so, how are you going to tell him.” He said to himself as he started to debate on what he was going to say. “Hello Yugi… I have something to tell you… No, that won't do.” (A/N: Ra help him.)

 

~15 minutes later~

After what seems like a while, he felt sure of what to say, and was prepared if in case if he were denied, which he hoped it didn't happen. He entered the shop, which he was greeted by the bell.

 

“Oh, Atemu, how was your day?” Grandpa said as he put away what looked like a swimsuit model issue magazine.

 

“It was… interesting.” Atemu said. “Have you seen Yugi?”

 

“Haven't seen him in three hours.” Grandpa said.

 

`Three hours? What would he possibly do in that amount of time?' Atemu thought.

 

“Was there something you want to tell him?” Grandpa asked with an eyebrow raised.

 

`Shit! I was worried about how I'm going to tell Yugi about how I feel, I didn't even think of what his grandfather might think.' Atemu thought as he took a deep breath. `Might as well tell him, he's going to find out sooner or later.' He looked up at Grandpa right in the eye. “Mr. Mouto, I have something to tell you, it might be a shock and you would probably don't want me here.”

 

“I'm listening.” Grandpa said as both of them became serious.

 

“Mr. Mouto, I'm gay and I'm in love with Yugi.” Atemu said. “But, before you say anything, I want you to know that no matter what you say or do would keep me from this feeling I realized today for your grandson.” He waited for the elder to lecture him or shout him out of the shop.

 

“I know.” Grandpa said calmly, which left the former pharaoh standing there, dumbstruck.

 

“Could you repeat that?” Atemu asked, not believing his ears.

 

“I said, I know.” Grandpa said with an amused smile.

 

“How?” Atemu asked.

 

“It really wasn't hard to figure out.” Grandpa said.

 

~Flashback~

The night when Yugi had his nightmare, Grandpa over heard the whole story.

 

`Seeing the ones you care about die in front of you is a nightmare.' He thought.

 

“And that's it.” Yugi said and Grandpa listened.

 

“I can see why it scared you.” Atemu said. “But you need to get some rest.”

 

“So do you.” Yugi said making the other chuckle. “Atemu.”

 

“What is it?” Atemu asked.

 

“You could let go of me now.” Yugi said.

 

“Sorry about that.” Atemu said as Grandpa mentally laughed at this.

 

“That's all right.” Yugi said. “Well, good night.”

 

“Good night.” Atemu said.

 

Grandpa was about to leave when he heard Yugi again.

 

“Atemu.” Yugi said quietly.

 

“Hn?” Atmeu responded.

 

“Thanks.” Yugi said.

 

“For what?” Atemu asked.

 

“For being there for me.” Yugi said.

 

“Anytime, Aibou, anytime.” Atemu said.

 

At that point, Grandpa felt that Yugi has feelings towards the other, while the other is unaware. `Well, well, it looks as though there's more to those two then I thought.' He thought as he quietly walked towards his room. `It's just a matter of time until one of them confess.' He decided to support his grandson's sexuality and be damned to anyone who has a problem with it.

 

~End of Flashback~

“And that's how I know.” Grandpa said.

 

Atemu felt relieved after hearing this.

 

`It's a good thing that he feels the same way as Yugi feels for him.' Grandpa thought. `Otherwise I would not only kick him out of this house, but also break every bone in his body. I would not allow anyone to break Yugi's heart without paying the price.' (A/N: O_O! Dang.)

 

“So, where is he now?” Atemu asked.

 

“I believe he and the others are at the cruise ship.” The elder said.

 

Atemu was completely confused at the moment.

 

“I think they were going to meet you and the others there.” Grandpa said, knowing the look on the ex-pharaoh's face.

 

Atemu understood and calmed down.

 

At that moment, the shop bell rang out. They turned to see Bakura, Marik, and Kayra, standing there.

 

“Forget something Pharaoh?” Bakura said as he held up the bag.

 

Atemu went up and grabbed his bag, while hiding his flush of embarrassment. “Thanks.” He said.

 

“We better get ready then.” Kayra said as she went upstairs.

 

“Ready? For what?” Atemu asked.

 

“The cruise.” Bakura said with a hit of annoyance.

 

“Then what the hell are we still standing around?” Marik said as he grabbed them both by the arms. “Let's get ready before Alysia arrives with our ride.”

 

As the remaining three went up, Grandpa was in deep thought.

 

~Flashback~

“Grandpa.” Yugi said with a soft voice.

 

Grandpa looked at his grandson and noticed that there was something on the young teen's mind.

 

“Hello Yugi.” He said, trying not to sound worried.

 

“Can I tell you something?” Yugi said.

 

“If you can.” Grandpa said.

 

“I'm not sure if you want to hear it though.” Yugi said, his voice is soft, but serious.

 

“You could tell me anything and I will still love you, no matter what.” Grandpa said.

 

“Grandpa, I'm gay.” Yugi said. He was expecting to be yelled at, but instead, his grandfather was smiling at him. `Did I miss something here?' H thought.

 

“Really now!” Grandpa said, trying to sound surprised. “That's interesting.”

 

“You don't mind, at all?” Yugi said, shocked.

 

“It's not that hard to see, when you fall in love.” Grandpa said with an amused smirk.

 

Yugi flushed a bit. “Is it that obvious?” He said.

 

Grandpa nodded. “And you like Atemu, do you not?” He asked.

 

Yugi's face went completely red. “Very much.” Yugi said.
