Chapter 8 HUZA! I'm sorry about the late update as well! I'll try to get my other stories updated as well! ENJOY!!!
That's always a cheerful sight, he though to himself, as he stretched his arms above his head and arched his back. For a minute he laid there, contemplating all the work that needed to be done when he went back to the office. Oh well, he thought, that is another Marik woke up to the sunlight poring in through the bay window of his bedroom. stone for another day. Then he began to wonder if everything was actually okay. He had left the business awaiting an offer from a very prominent businessman that he hoped would be willing to partner with him for the new dig sites. Marik desperately wanted someone to share the cost of these new sites, knowing that only the best would be able to work there due to the promising premises. Curiosity overcoming him, he looked over at the beautiful body next to him, assuring he was asleep, and reached for his briefcase under the bed. He pulled out a laptop turning it on not noticing Ryou stirring slightly in his sleep. The dial-up modem dialing to connect Marik to the Internet woke him up fully though. Ryou sighed contently wrapping his arms possessively around Marik's waist and resting his head on his hip since the laptop was in his lap. Marik smiled down at him as Ryou closed his eyes just enjoying being close to him as he sat up gently planting a kiss on his cheek as he watched Marik type upon his laptop, obviously checking his mail. Ryou read the names of the emails and noticed one, it said it was from Seto Kaibia a school friend of Ryou's he was older but Ryou skipped a few grades so he knew the young CEO.
"I know him." Ryou said resting his head on Marik's shoulder "Are you going to do business with him?" Ryou asked curiously.
"I am hoping so. He has the finances I need for the new digs I want to do." Marik told Ryou. "He is a good man, a little younger than normal, but they say excellence knows no age. Which is obviously true, in this case." He began skimming the e-mail. It was an invitation in three days for a dinner at Kaibia's mansion. Apparently, that was were the discussion of partnership would take place. 'A friendly affair' it said. "Well, how would you like to go with me to his mansion on Saturday? Apparently, we shall be his dinner guests."
"As long as he doesn't mind." Ryou said hopping from the bed and putting on some clothes. "A partnership with Seto huh…" Ryou thought for a moment slightly laughing to himself. They were both really dominate businessmen and it would be interesting to see which one would be calling the shots and decisions with the dig project he was planning. "I hope you can corporate with him." Ryou said mainly to himself.
"It's business of course I will be able to corporate. Weather I end up liking the man or not its just business." Marik said as he watched Ryou bend over to pick up his shirt.
Ryou slipped his shirt on. "You don't have to like him." Ryou said plopping down on the bed "But he demands respect, weather or not you want to give it." Ryou said sighing slightly.
"Of course I'll give him respect." Marik told Ryou as he closed his laptop and got out of bed. "He is a business partner and all personal feelings aside I need his money."
Ryou laughed slightly "I just hope you get along is all." Ryou said smiling slightly. He hadn't seen Seto in a really long time it would be nice to see his former friend again, an unexpected meeting would be good…he hadn't really spent much time with friends recently. He pushed Seto out of his mind as he followed Marik out of their cabin.
"Good morning love birds." Joey said as Ryou and Marik walked through the door holding hands. "Pancakes?" Joey said holding up the frying pan revealing a fluffy pancake.
Ryou smiled but shook his head "No thanks." He said politely as he grabbed an apple off the counter and began munching on it.
"I'd loved some pancakes Joey. I'm starved." Marik said as he went to the refrigerator and poured a glass of orange juice.
"I would expect so." Ryou said softly as he continued to eat his apple, ignoring the raised eyebrow he got from Joey.
Marik grinned "Yeah I'm pretty worn down from our activities yesterday."
"Technically our so called 'activities' ran into today." Ryou said smiling
"Oh well excuse me Mr. Right." Marik said sarcastically
"And don't you forget it." Ryou said shooting the apple core into the trashcan.
"So what are your plans for today?" Joey asked as he placed a plate full of pancakes on the table.
"I'm going for my usual swim, and maybe a little sweat session in the gym." Marik replied a she began to eat his breakfast.
Ryou sighed as he began to peal an orange. 'I really should learn to swim' Ryou thought silently.
"M-Marik?" Ryou asked softly
"Yes love?" Marik said through a mouthful of pancakes.
"Would you mind teaching me how to swim?" Ryou asked tilting his head to the side.
Marik studied Ryou thoughtfully "Of course I will, if that's really what you want."
"Yes, you made a good point." Ryou said tilting his head to the side.
A good point? Marik thought franticly, what did I say to him? He asked himself. " You don't really have to learn." He told Ryou to make amends. "I was just messing around. It is completely up to you."
"But I would like you to teach me, I know it's up to me...it's fine unless you don't want to of course." Ryou said looking at Marik curious of his frantic behavior. "If it will ruin your swim you don't have to." Ryou added.
"Ruin my swim?" Marik asked with a sly smile. "I don't know of anything else that can make my swim more, interesting."
Ryou shook his head at him rolling his eyes "those kind of lessons should be held for the bedroom." He said standing up as he headed toward the pool house.
Marik exchanged a glanced with Joey. "He sure has become quite, um, open, hasn't he?" Asked Joey.
"God, you have no idea how 'open' he can be." Marik said causing Joey to blush as Marik put his empty plate in the sink and followed Ryou out of the room.
A Few Hours Later…
Ryou sat on the bed while he towle dryed his wet hair, he needed a blow dryer in all truth but Marik didn't seem to have one. The swim lesson had actually gone pretty good, he felt silly now for being so afraid to try it for so long but shrugged it off. Marik could be patient and considerate if he tried, he wasn't as heatless as most portrayed him to be...that he even portrayed him to be at first but that was all behind them and he was happy for the first time in a long time. He sighed and continued to dry his hair that started to drip as he growled slightly frustrated with the thick mane of hair as Marik stepped out of the shower himself and smiled at him seeming slightly amused.
"You know, you are actually quite a good swimmer. I am surprised you caught on so fast." Marik told Ryou as he reached for a towel on the stand. "I hope you don't mind that we have to leave in the morning. I wrote Seto and told him we would be there tomorrow."
"That's fine, I probably need to check a few things at home though once we leave and go back. If dad called I'll need to call him back too." Ryou said changing into some clean clothes wrapping his hair up in the towel not wanting to bother with it any longer than he already had.
"Didn't I tell you he can't get to a phone?" Marik asked Ryou smiling. "But he is okay." Marik added hastily. As he went to the closet to pick out some clothes. "Why don't we finish getting dressed and go see what Joey has for supper?"
"Sure, I didn't doubt his health or that he had been hurt. But I still need to stop by home." Ryou said as he kissed Marik gently and went up to deck while Marik finished getting dressed.
What the hell does he need from home? Marik asked himself as he slipped on a t-shirt and followed Ryou up to the deck. I thought I had everything for him. Oh well, men can be fickle, Marik told himself as he walked into the kitchen door. Ryou was at the cupboard, getting plates for the table, and Joey was standing over the stove, wearing a white apron that said 'Kiss the Chef' in bold red letters.
"Hi." Joey said looking up at Marik. "You are just in time. Dinner should be ready in about 5 minutes."
"Smells good." Marik said winking at Ryou as he slid into a chair. "I seem to have worked up quite an appetite."
Ryou shook his head at him, "You seem to do that under any circumstances." Ryou said setting the plates and silverware on the table before sitting down across from him as he smiled at him softly. He didn't seem to notice until now how homesick he really was, true no one was really waiting for him but he still missed it. "Will you be going back home?" Ryou asked not sure of Marik's intentions once they were back in Domino
"Yes, I need to get ready for this meeting. I have some papers at home and my suit. So the plan is to stop at your place, you can pick up what you need, and then we will go to my mansion. That way we can just leave from there and go to Seto's." Marik answered as he watched Joey bring a huge turkey to the table.
The meal was spent mainly in silence as they soon went below to pack up their things expecting to arrive in the harbor in an hour or two and needing to get on the plane if they wanted to be back in Domino by nightfall. Marik had spent almost the rest of the trip on his laptop not that Ryou minded he was a business man, they tended to be busy even on vacation not to mention they would be in Harbor within thirty minutes so not much they could really do without being interrupted during the middle...they had a five hour plane ride to look forward to anyway.
Well I hope you liked it, and someone asked what Joey is up to and he's just a filler basically so if we need a stand in we don't have to throw some random person out there and leave you hanging ^_^ anyways…
PLEASE REVIEW!!!
