Run Away

Yugi was sitting on the hill with his friends. Every one was their even Seto. He looked at every one. They seemed to be so wrapped up in themselves that they never seemed to have time to pay attention to Yugi. Yugi looked at Mai and Joey, they had started dating about three months ago. Ryou was trying to get to know his Yami better, and try and talk him out of the idea of taking over the world. Tristen had started going out with Joey's sister serenity. Seto was either spending time working or playing with Mokuba. And Tea was always trying to get Yami's attention.

Yugi had been thinking about a lot of stuff lately. He was trying to make a decision if he should run away or not. If he did would they notice? He decided that he would try it to day, if he left the park right now and went home to help grandpa and they didn't come after him right away then he would leave if they did then he would stay for a little longer. He quickly gathered his stuff and left. Once he was off the hill they were sitting on he looked back. No one had seen him leave. A tear made it's way down his cheek. He ran home as fast as he could.

When he got home he ran up to his room. He grabbed money snacks and cloths and stuffed them into his backpack. He was just about to leave when he remembered about the millennium puzzle. "What should I do with it? If I leave it on Yami will be able to find me. But if I take it off then any one could steel it." He deicide to take it with him and keep it in his backpack. He put one strap over his shoulder and went down stairs. He looked around to make sure no one was looking and then ran out the door.

"Ware should I go? If I stay in town then it is a better chance of me running into some one I know." Yugi kept on walking till he found himself at the docks. Yugi looked up when a horn form one of the boats blew. He saw some crates being loaded onto the boat. Yugi ran over and found a crate to hide in. He set his stuff down and sat on one of the boxes. "I wonder what Yami is doing?" He shook his head. No I will not think about him right now. If he thought about any one then he wouldn't be able to leave. He brought he knees up to his chest resting his chin on his knees and hugging them.

Grandpa had thought that Yugi was still out with every one, but when Joey had called to find out if Yugi was at home he started to worry. Every one was now in his living room wondering ware Yugi could be. Yami was really worried, he hadn't told any one this, but he had lost his link with Yugi. As the hours passed every one was starting to get tired and it was time for them to go home.

"We will look for Yugi again tomorrow." Tristen said as they started out the door one by one. "Don't worry gramps I'm sure Yugi is fine."

After every one said their goodbyes Yami went back in to sit on the sofa, when he heard Yugi calling him.

/Yami are you their?/

//Yugi! Were are you? Are you alright?//

/I'm fine; I just linked with you this one last time to tell you goodbye. I should have left a note for grandpa but tell him I'm fine and don't worry./

//What do you mean goodbye?//

/Well every one is so rapped up in each other that no one noticed I was even their. So I thought it would be better if I left, oh and tell every one don't bother looking for me in the city, I don't think I will be in the country much longer./

//What?! Your leave in the country? Why? I'm sorry that nobody elts seemed to notice you were there but I did. And when you ran off to day I thought you needed some time alone.// Yami could hear Yugi crying.

/Sorry Yami./ Then he couldn't hear or feel Yugi any more.

//Yugi? YUGI!!// He sighed. Yugi was gone and he was to far away for him to sense ware the puzzle was. "Well I better tell grandpa what happened." Yami walked into the kitchen were grandpa was making something to eat. "Yugi just linked with me." He said as he sat down in a chair "Is he alright?"

"He said he was fine, and told me to tell you not to worry but…I don't think he will be coming back any time soon." Grandpa also sat down. "Why is that?"

"He said he was leavening the country. I would return to the puzzle but it is to far away now for me to do that." They both sighed. "Did he say why he left?" Yami nodded. "It seems no one was even noticing when he was around or not."

"We'll tell the others tomorrow." Grandpa got up and got his food.

Yugi snuck around the corner of the bout and ran into a boy about as tall as him. "Oh sorry." Yugi said. "It's ok." The boy looked at Yugi. "You snuck aboard didn't you?" Yugi gasped in surprise. How did he know? Yugi nodded. "How did you know?"

"Well for one thing if you didn't you would have most likely left you backpack in your room. And secondly I watched every single person that got on the boat and I would have remembered seeing you." The boy smiled. "Oh." Yugi bowed his head. "Hey it's alright. You can stay with me and my mom in are room. I'm sure she wont mind. And no one should say any thing about it cues my brother was s'posed to come but went to stay with my dad instead." Yugi smiled. "Thank you." They walked down the hall. "I'm sure it will beet sleeping in the cargo bay." Yugi laughed. "Ya I'm sure your right. This is the first time I've done this so I wouldn't know, and I am glad I don't have to know."

"Ware are you from."

"I'd rather for get about it. No one noticed me when I was around."

"Ah, so I am guessing you ran away." Yugi nodded. "Ok, I ran away to till this lady found me and she became my new mom."

"My mom and dad died when I was little. I don't really remember what my mom was like." The boy smiled. " By the way my name is Keith."

"I'm Yugi."

They arrived at the room. "Mom I'm back, and we have a guest."

"Oh really who?"

"His name is Yugi. He ran away form home." A woman came out form the next room. She had long black hair golden brown eyes, she wore a blue dress nothing fancy it went to her knees and had no sleeves. "Nice to meet you Yugi. My name is Ruth. Would you like to stay with us?" Yugi nodded. "Ok Keith can you show him to his room?"

"Yes mom." Keith grabbed Yugi's arm and dragged him to his room. "Hey watch this." Keith said, then he ran and jumped onto the bed and did a summer salt. "Hey let me try!" Yugi threw down his bag and did the same, only when he landed he missed the bed and fell on to the floor. Keith looked at his face and started laughing soon Yugi joined in.

When they had messed up all three beds that were in the cabin Yugi unpacked his things. "Hey Keith come and see what I have." Yugi never really showed off his puzzle but he really wanted Keith to see it. "WOW! That is so cool. Ware did you get that?"

"My grandpa gave it to me. Wanna know the story behind it?" Keith nodded and sat down on the bed as Yugi told him about Yami his other half and how he found out about Yami. After that he told him about duel monsters, Keith knew a little about them, but not much. He had his own deck so him and Yugi dueled. And Yugi gave him a few pointers.

"So Yugi what is your favorite card?" Yugi went thru his deck. "This one The Dark Magician, and I like this one just as much, the Celtic Guardian. What card do you like?"

Keith went thru hid deck. "Well I like the Gamine Twins. And the Celtic Guardian."

They staid up all night talking about duel monsters.

The next morning at breakfast, Yugi looked at Ruth and Keith. He remembered how his Yami didn't have to eat. Maybe he would link with him today to see what he was doing? No it had only been one day. He had to get his mind off of this.

"Hey Yugi, I was thinking last night. Keith said you had run away?"

"Yes."

"How would you like to live with me and Keith?"

"I would but…"

"But what?" Keith asked.

"Well do you live in the city you came from?" he asked

"No we only went there on vacation." Ruth said. Yugi smiled. "Then I would love to stay with you."

******************Four Years latter***********************

"Yugi hurry up! Were ganna be late." Keith yelled up to him. "Sorry I can't find my puzzle! If were going to be gone all summer then I can't leave it here."

"Don't you remember you put it in the closet last year!"

"Oh ya." He ran to the closet and grabbed it and put it on. Once he did a thought struck him. He hadn't thought about Yami in almost two and a half years. "I wonder how he is doing? I wonder how Grandpa is." Yugi started to feel sad. "YUGI!!!"

"Coming!" Yugi grabbed his bag and ran down the stairs. "Race ya to the car." Yugi said. "No way I swear you're the King of games. You win at every thing." Yugi stopped dead in his tracks when he heard King of games. Yugi shook his head and started walking out to the car. "I am not the king of games. But I do know who is."

"Rally who?" Ruth asked from behind the both of them. "Oh hi mom. You can't sneak up on us any more." Keith smiled. "Ya mom." Ruth and Keith stared at Yugi. That was the first time he had called Ruth mom. It was always Ruth or sometimes even B*tch when she was drunk, but he never called her mom. "What?" He asked. Ruth just hugged him. "Lets go."

"What did I say?" Yugi asked.

"You called her mom." Keith said. "So?"

They got into the car and went to the airport.
