Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ Shadows and Lust ❯ Chapter Two ( Chapter 2 )

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]

Yugi Mouto was on the verge of losing his breath as his legs began to fail him from his running. The tip of his right foot screwed up his constant balance as he tripped and slid; feeling the scraping against his left knee. “Ahhgr…!” he gritted his teeth in pain and frustration, holding onto his scrape desperately that lingered underneath his pants. A low growl sounding similar to a wolf's bellowed, catching Yugi's attention immediately as the growl's culprit's shadow walked slowly towards the young boy with an unseen predatory gaze.

“B-Bakura! I thought…I thought you were gone…” Yugi stuttered, recognizing his mysterious figure; fear evident in his voice.

The shadow whom Yugi called Bakura's growl transformed to a sadistic psychotic laughter that pierced the inside of Yugi's eardrums. His figure stepped out of the shadows. His eyes were painfully evil and painted of a piercing dark brown and his sinful smirk stretched throughout his entire left half of his face. His locks were an extremely pale white like a fluorescent light that could blind human eyesight. The structure of the two thick strands that had stuck up from his bright head was almost strikingly similar to the sharp horns of the devil. Accompanying his facial features and the rest of his clothing, which was a blue and white striped button up followed by a teal pair of pants, was a thick raven trench coat that seemed to literally devour his entire body.

“My, little Yugi! This is how you bid me welcome after we have not seen each other in months? You truly hurt my feelings,” he mocked as his laughter grew harder, louder, and colder and he quickly grew taller from a mere 5'8” to a massive 14'5”. Yugi disguised his flinch of fear by narrowing his eyebrows in hatred and growled under his breath. “Get away…from me!”

/Damnit!/

“What?” Bakura asked in a booming voice dumbfounded as he heard Yugi's stutter. “What was that?” His mutated thumb and index finger grasped the miniature boy by the collar of his shirt as he glared at him with cold piercing, blood thirsty eyes. “Did you just show me that you were helpless and vulnerable by a stutter?”

Yugi attempted a spit at Bakura's nose but missed. Bakura only chuckled in response.

“Now that's a move I expected from a coward.”

Bakura aimed Yugi over his mouth and let go.

“AAAH…!”

Yugi jerked upwards to a sitting position and found he was sweating and panting underneath his bed sheets. He sighed with relief and collapsed his head back on his cotton soft pillows to contemplate. Joey had called him to share with him the news about attending the competition with Ryou and the others. They were all to leave tomorrow excluding Tristan. The flu had hung over his head and occasionally he would end up falling unconscious temporarily. Yugi primarily thought that going to this challenge would seem like a ton of fun and amusement, but after he had put the Pharaoh's spirit to rest, he promised himself he would not be involved in anything Duel Monsters related for at least another year.

Still, he could never reject a challenge. That just proved how headstrong he was. He would only hope that he wouldn't need to risk his own life in the process. Even though the past was over, he still had some doubts.

“Are you excited?”

Titania looked behind her, tearing her eyes and attention away from her manga only to find an empty space against the wall. She cursed it while she kicked it almost roughly with the ball of her bare foot. Ever since she heard that chuckle a few days ago, the voice inside the wall that had sounded similar to it would not desist. Usually she would just ignore it and kick the wall to shut it up, but today was no exception. He was like a thought of guilt that would frequently torture the mind unless the truth was told.

Wait. That was the answer to her dilemma!

“Who the hell are you?” If she had responded to the wall's faint dialogue sooner, then maybe she would have taken care of this pet peeve a long time ago.

“That's not important right now!” the voice retorted loudly. “What's imperative is that you answer my question!”

Titania sighed in annoyance and confessed, “Sexually or eagerly?”

There was a short silence before, “What a clever remark for such an innocent girl. I was only asking if you were excited about the competition next week. You did achieve your parent's approval, didn't you?”

Whoever the voice belonged to, it was giving Titania an uplifting feeling between her legs. The voice was so demanding, yet somehow very sensual.

“Yeah, I did. So what's it to you?”

Somehow the voice reached over right next to her ear, nearly kissing it. It whispered soothingly and seductively, “Now, now. There's no need to be so cold blooded.”

If Titania was a boy, at that moment, she would become hard and stiff. This voice was almost unnatural, and the tint of the Britain accent was a perfect compliment.

“Well! Seems like you're not only excited in an `eager' manner, so you speak,” it chuckled huskily.

She was stunned. How did it know that she was sexually aroused by his irresistible voice? She threw away the thought temporarily as she quickly disguised her real feelings with shock and irritation.

“What the hell does that supposed to mean?! Are you some kind of perverted maniac or something?”

“Well, I'm not too sure about being a maniac, but I sure as hell am not the perverted one.”

/Shit./

“Show me your face, you coward!” She eyed the wall with a glare that shot daggers.

“I will be able to when the time is right. Until then, you will have to hate me if you wish.”

“Thanks for the option. I probably will have to now.”

The wall chuckled. “Cute.”

Following the wall's last word was silence. Mixed feelings between slight confusion and sexual excitement sheltered inside Titania. For a brief moment, she ignored her aroused state of mind and asked herself several questions. For one thing, was she going insane? How and why was she communicating with this voice? How the hell did the voice know that she was getting excited over it? How did it know about the competition? Would she see the owner of the voice, if it even had one, during the event? Was the voice that of masculinity or feminine? She wasn't exactly sure because she could hear also a hint of a feminine tone, but she was almost positive that the voice belonged to a young man.

Now that she had all her questions in mind, all she needed to do was cool down the fire that was severely burning her hyper hormones…

The next morning, Ryou, Joey and his younger sister Serenity Wheeler, Yugi, and Téa Gardner were settled at the airport, waiting for their plane trip to Sacramento. “I'm really psyched about this trip, ya guys! It's been a long time since I played Duel Monsters.” Joey turned to his best friend Yugi. “'Ey Yug! Do ya think I'll still play as well as I did before?” He shook Yugi by the shoulders to emphasize his excitement.

Yugi brushed off his shoulders after Joey was finished and smiled, “I'm sure you will, Joey. When you start something that you haven't done in a long time, you'll quickly gain back control of it; sort of like…”

“Driving?” a familiar voice interrupted. The four teenagers turned around rapidly and recognized three Egyptian figures. One was taller than the other two, thick and bulking with muscles who wore a violet piece of clothing and black pants, including a shadowed cloak that seemed to devour him. He didn't hold any hair, only a raven ponytail in the back that seemed to reach down to the middle of his bulging back, and was gifted with piercing golden eyes. An Egyptian tattoo was carved through the left side of his face that was apparently a chant of hieroglyphics. He didn't look like he was related to the other two Egyptians. The middle of the three was a captivating female with warm light blue eyes. Her locks matched colors with the oldest Egyptian only it was a full head that fell downwards all the way to her waist, including two shimmering strands slithering down the sides with a couple of golden bands tightening them to further compliment them. She was clothed with a pale tan robe. The youngest of the three was gifted with violet painted eyes and thin platinum blonde strands of hair. The boy's shirt almost matched colors with his eyes, complimenting nicely with them. All three of them were decorated with the finest gold jewelry: earrings, wristbands, and headbands galore. The interrupting voice belonged to the youngest.

“Hey Malik! Ishizu! Odion!” Yugi greeted, immediately enjoying the reunion.

“It must be a small flippin' world to see ya guys here!” Joey humorously explained as he crossed his arms.

“Yes, it must be. I'm so glad we got a chance to meet again,” Ishizu warmly stated, her eyes mimicking her mood.

“Weren't you guys in Egypt?” Serenity asked, remembering that they had gone back to their homeland.

“We were for quite a while, but when I heard about this competition, I couldn't refuse to ignore. Are you going to participate next week?” Malik asked, pointing at Yugi's group.

“Yes!” Téa exclaimed. “That's exactly why we're here.”

“Now boarding Flight 69: Domino City, Japan; Sacramento, California; USA.”

“That's us,” Serenity informed the group as the seven friends started retreating towards the entrance line of Flight 69.
