“All Yu-Gi-Oh! Tournament participants please report to the stadium. We will begin partnering up pairs shortly. Those who are watching the tournament as an audience please begin sitting outside around the stadium. Thank you very much and we hope you all enjoy the first part of our show!”
Since so many people participated in the tournament, it was extended to last for a week. As long as the audience and members had kept their tournament identification cards that were assigned to them when they first arrived, then they didn't have to pay again for their tickets. Yugi, Téa, Joey, Serenity, Ryou, Malik, Ishizu, Odion, and various other participants created lines that covered nearly half of the building creating about six or more columns while they all walked out the door toward the stadium.
"Guys, I'm starting to get real uncomfortable doing this," Yugi nervously stated, remembering what had happened two nights before.
"Eh? What seems to be the problem, Yug?" Joey asked, almost irritated. They had come all this way for this event. There was no way they were going back.
"Well...I have a feeling that Bakura may come back. I'm not certain exactly if he will or not; all I know is that the dream I had two nights ago seemed so real." Yugi furthur explained that Bakura was communicating with him and he had said that he would continue his vengence upon the clique.
"Damnit..." Ryou cursed under his breath while forming a fist. His heart sunk. Tears almost welled up in his eyes. Why would he want to return to finish what he had started before? Why couldn't he just let the whole situation come to an end and leave him and his friends alone? They never did anything wrong to him!
"Hey. Are you alright?"
Ryou looked up to meet jovial emerald eyes staring with concern for him. Her hair matched colors of a shadow which fell from her head to her waist. Raven eyeliner was drawn around her eyes smoothly. She was clothed with a Ride the Lightning Metallica logo tee with navy dark blue jeans. She was decorated with gold, silver, and dark jewelry: bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and all.
"Um..." Ryou withdrew from her, a slight hue of pink was visible across his face. "It's okay. I-I mean...I'm completely fine. You don't have to worry about me."
The young goth girl smiled as she held out her hand. "Titania."
Ryou nervously took her friendly hand and shook it with a slight slower than neutral motion. It had been a long time since he had made a new friend. "Ryou. It's a pleasure to meet you."
"Well! A friend of Ryou's is a friend of ours!" Joey declared as he invited Titania into their clique.
Titania couldn't help but think that Ryou's voice sounded a lot similar to the voice of the wall back at the hotel room, but the content in his words seemed a lot more subtle and appropriate than the voice's.
Then again they had barely just met. It was possible that there were certain things about Ryou that she didn't know about.
It was then that another realization had hit her. If Ryou had seemed surprised or said anything that reminded her of the voice in the hotel room when she had told him her name, then she would know that most likely he was the voice that belonged to the wall.
Ryou looked and seemed only neutral during their first meeting. Titania finally knew that Ryou wasn't the voice back at her hotel room.
But she still couldn't help but think that he sounded so much like it!
As all participants cluttered around the stadium, the stressed employees randomly paired up every single person depending on who was standing beside who. Malik was paired up with Yugi, Ishizu with Tea, Ryou with Titania, Odion with Serenity, and Joey was paired up with some chunky adolescent kid named Albert. Yugi chuckled under his breath at who poor Joey ended up with, feeling sorry for him as he made a disgusted face.
Followed by the members, the audience, which consisted of direct and indirect family members, friends, and strangers walked out of the building and began to sit around the stadium just like the announcer had instructed.
As everyone was settled, an announcer walked to the center of the stadium which was surrounded by small tables and chairs.
"I would like to thank everyone for participating and watching this live performance. As you all may have noticed these cameras, let me remind you that we are indeed recording this event so that fans from all over the globe may watch on television."
Titania felt it had been hours when this announcer first showed up and continued to rant his speech furthur about the rules and regulations, employees and programs that have helped put this competition; blah, blah, blah. And after all this, he concluded:
"I will have to ask you to please wait a while longer until several late reservations arrive."
Without warning her partner, Titania turned around and walked away. She didn't feel like standing there for another twenty minutes. Absentmindedly, she began to wander around the back with her hands sunk deep into her pockets when she could hear music behind her blazing through her ears from the powerful waves of the speakers. She started bobbing her head to the techno and discovered a water fountain near an outdoor bathroom. While she went and heavily drank from the fountain, in the corner of her eyes, she looked down at two legs walking down her direction. She almost quickly withdrew as she stared into the brunette eyes of the boy she had just met. For some odd reason, he looked more sinister: his colorless locks had gained more alert as she noticed two strands sticking out toward opposite directions making him seem more like a demon rather than a human. Surrounding his poisonous eyes looked like a thick eyeliner that made his eyes stand out and look somehow not just corrupt but provocative. She wasn't sure why she didn't notice this when she had met his shy side back at the stadium. Why did he follow her here? Was he starting to get concerned or was she not supposed to leave and he arrived to let her know?
"Ryou?" she whispered. "I'm sorry I left. I was really thirsty."
"Heh, heh, hmm," he chuckled as a unnatural smirk appeared on his face.
Titania gasped. The chuckle! So it was Ryou!
"Remember me?" he asked in the same familiar voice as he removed the bangs away from his face. "I believe you had met my pathetic former hikari, Ryou."
Hikari? So this wasn't Ryou then? The girl had been bitch slapped by confusion.
"Who are you? What the hell do you mean by hikari?"
"Mortals refer to me as Bakura," he hissed in a seductive tone. "It is plenty to explain, but I'm an immortal spirit who used to take over the body of that innocent being, thus he was considered my hikari, or my host. Now that I have obtained various black magical spells and secrets during my absence here on Earth, I have transformed myself into a separate immortal spirit being with minor alterations."
Bakura's explaination didn't cure her confusion, but she figured that she would have to get to know him in order to understand. "So you're the dude who I was talking to through the wall then?"
The boy called Bakura nodded in agreement.
"So what might these alterations be, Mr. Bakura?" she asked with a smirk of her own, remembering his previous sentence. She could not explain the immediate attraction to the so-called spirit.
"I rarely appear as a regular mortal human being such as yourself, but that's what I pretty much do including using frequently my original spirit traits." Bakura explained with a low tone. "I only use this power for two reasons: I can only become solid for a minimal period of time and/or if I find someone very interesting to taunt or torment for amusement."
Titania laughed at his statement. "So you're here to taunt me?"
"Hmm..." Bakura purred underneath his breath as he wrapped his left arm around her waist and pulled him against her in a suggestive manner. Interest shot the girl's body upwards straight and stiff.
"I'll do a little more...than taunt you..."
Before Bakura could ram his mouth against hers, the announcer's voice was faintly but barely heard about to begin the competition.
"We'll finish this later," he whispered as he let go and let the wind carry his smokescreen away. Titania just stared in shock before she shook her head to snap out of it and ran back to the stadium.
So he was a spirit.
/Hmm...sexy./
Titania found herself falling in lust with Bakura.
