Disclaimer:

Standards apply. Angelique and Tenshi are both my own creations. The other new characters that are introduced be long to my friends Raven, Kayla, and Arielle. I will note pairings and the like later on. Also, the song that is used in this chapter is Pat Benetar's "Invincible". I also have no ties to the owning of it as well.

Battle City, the best tournament ever held in Japan and he had the worst time at it. He thought that maybe he could find himself through the duels, finally figure out who he really was after Pegasus, Yugi, and Ishizu messed with his head. After those incidents, he had felt he was never really himself, as if he was missing something.

He now knew that in some vague way, he had a connection to the Millennium items, but his head wouldn't let his heart believe it. Maybe that was his problem, he never listened to hisself.

He sighed as he walked through the school, his eyes set dead ahead of him as he went to his next class. Why was he walking so fast? He had another whole five minutes to get to algebra.

He ran a hand through his brown hair, shaking his head hopelessly. You're loosing your touch, Seto. He old himself as he continued to walk on, his hard blue eyes never wavering. It was then that he heard it. Music? This time of day? He thought as he walked by the auditorium. Normally the choir or band never started stage practices until later in the afternoon.

He looked through the door and narrowed his eyes at the girl that stood in the middle of the dark stage. Music was blaring from the speakers as she began to dance, her eyes closed. He crept along the back wall, staying the shadows as he watched her. Her long flowing purple hair sparkled as she moved, the seemingly perfect curls and waves that fell down her back never once being disturbed from their own form.

It was then, when he was lost in the sight of her movement, she pulled him into the mists of her world, softly singing as she moved. "This bloody road remains a mystery. A sudden darkness fills the air... What are we waiting for? Won't anybody help us? What are we waiting for?"

She sang with such energy that it was no wonder she didn't need a microphone for her to be heard through the whole auditorium from the stage. He listened on. "We can't afford to be innocent. Stand up and face the enemy. It's a do or die situation, we will be invincible!"

He gasped inwardly was he heard her words. It was… It was as if she were singing to him. As if she knew he was there. But… How could she have seen him?

"This shattered dream you cannot justify. We're gonna scream until we're satisfied. What are we running for? We've got the right to be angry! What are we running for? When there's no where we can run to anymore!" The music became heart pounding as she used the whole stage to her advantage, leaping, twirling, sliding, and tap dancing across and around it all.

But, she was soon stopped by a voice that came from off stage. "Wonderful, Angelique!" Seto looked to where the familiar voice came from. It was the school choir director, Mr. Torimato. He clapped as he walked over to her. The music had stopped and all was quiet except for the teacher's feet moving over the floor.

Perfect name for her… Seto thought as he smiled, looking on ward. Was her reason for her performance to try out for the choir?

"Thank you, sensei." The dancer whispered, her voice soft as she bowed to him. She shook his hand, sweat on her forehead.

"I think that Seto will agree with me that you'd make a wonderful addition to our choral program." Kaiba gasped. He had been seen!? "Won't you, Seto?" Mr. Torimato asked, turning his gaze to the teenager's shadowed form.

He sighed and came from hiding, walking towards the stage. "I definitely have to agree." He said once was standing by them.

"Angelique, I'd like for you to meet Kaiba Seto, one of the schools richest, smartest, and most talented students. Seto, this is Karenza Angelique, a new found talent and student to Domino High." Mr. Torimato stepped back as Seto reached his hand out to her.

"It's a pleasure to meet you." He whispered, shaking her hand.

A soft blush came to her cheeks as she accepted his friendly gesture. "No, please. The pleasure is all mine."

He smiled at her. Mr. Torimato grinned softly as he watched them as they made eye contact. He had never seen Kaiba seemingly so happy in a long time. He had known the boy since his father adopted him when he was around eight or nine and it was rare to see him give a genuine smile. The teacher then gasped as he heard the bell to begin the period sound.

"Great… Seto, if I write you two a note, can you help Angelique get to her class?" He asked, looking at his student.

"Of course, sir." He said, bowing to him. As Mr. Torimato left to write the note, Seto looked back at Angelique. "What is you're next period, miss?"

"Algebra, room 218. And please, call me Angie. All of my friends do." She smiled at him.

"Alright, Angie. Feel free to call me Seto." He replied, smiling back. What am I doing?! He thought to himself. He barely even knew her and was letting her call him by his first name. People he had known for years had never been allowed to call him anything other than Kaiba.

He walked with her back to Mr. Torimato's room so she could get her things. As she sat down in a chair to take off her tap shoes, she looked at him. "Can you hand me those black flats, Seto?"

He smiled as he saw them, picking them up before kneeling in front of her and helping her place them on. He then looked up at her as he finished. "There you are." Both of their faces were flushed red as they looked into each other's eyes.

"Now, isn't that a picture worth a thousand words." Mr. Torimato said with a soft laughed as the two moved away from one another, trying not to make eye contact. "Here's your note, kids. I'll see you both after school today for practice."

The nodded and left the room as Angelique gathered her books, still trying not to make eye contact. Seto Kaiba gulped. He was confused now more than ever.
