Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ Songbird ❯ Aftermath ( Chapter 10 )
"Do my eyes deceive me? This young woman has killed the Pharaoh and all of these people as well. If I would have known this from the start then I would not have wasted my time on trying to defeat the Pharaoh myself. And now that she is in this state I can take her Ka and get rid of this weak Blue Eyes White Dragon in exchange for something much better. Fate has definitely changed in my favor and I will not waste this chance."
Zork in Priest Seto's body came down and walked slowly to the Palace, stepping over dead bodies. He entered the Palace gates and when he got up to the door, he looked in and didn't see the Pharaoh or his Priests or Kimora. He looked around and still saw no one and heard nothing. "This is a setup..." He thought to himself as he stepped back a few feet, turned around, and hid behind pillar split down the middle about to tumble over.
The Priests came down the stairs beaten and bruised up about to go search for Priest Seto.
"Where do you think he could be?" Pondered Priestess Ishizu.
"Wherever Zork is." Priest Shadah said blankly.
"Do you think the Pharaoh will be okay?" Priestess Ishizu asked worryingly.
"Oh trust me no one will mess with him as long as he is with Kimora." Priest Shadah said confidently.
"Look at this place, it will take a miracle to fix all of this." Priest Shadah said with rage.
"We must start reconstruction immediately." Priestess Ishizu said.
"With who everyone is probably dead." Mana cried.
"Not everyone. She only killed those that were "set to die" as she so bluntly put it." Priestess Ishizu said.
The Priests stepped outside and saw dead bodies lying everywhere. Priestess Ishizu started shaking and then began to cry as Priest Shadah held onto her. The people that survived were cleaning up the dead bodies and mourning their loved ones. One woman carrying her husband walked past the Priests, stared at them, shook her head, and kept walking.
"You know I never thought I'd say this but maybe its best if Kimora does die. If she stays here then very soon everyone will die." Priest Shadah said looking around at all the dead people.
"No, we can't kill her. If we kill her we are no better then that beast that killed all these people." Priestess Ishizu shouted beating her fist up against his chest.
"Then what are we to do?" Mana said holding onto Priestess Ishizu.
"What we should have done in the first place. Keep Kimora under our care. She must be watched non-stop, day and night." Priestess Ishizu said letting go of Priest Shadah and walking into the village
"I don't understand. Why are we doing all of this for her? She is sleeping let's just finish the job now." Priest Shadah said anxiously.
"No, the Pharaoh went through too much and I'm sure he wouldn't like it if he woke up and found Kimora dead knowing that we were responsible for it we would never live it through and he would never forgive us nor trust us ever again. Its obvious that he loves her and its not her fault that this happened and we vowed to serve the Pharaoh in any way." Priestess Ishizu reminded him.
"Why are you taking her side?" Priest Shadah annoyingly.
"I'm not taking sides I'm just stating the facts. They are still people and I care about them as much as the Pharaoh does especially someone who hardly has a friend in the world the least we can do is help her." Priestess Ishizu said with anguish.
"Agreed. You know I never hated that girl but I never thought that it would come to this." Priest Shadah admitted.
"But if Azila started this then how are we to trust any of the other servants in their." Mana said.
"Oh trust me this was exactly the wake up call they and these people needed. How many times do you have to warn a person before they actually get the picture?" Priest Shadah said.
"What did Pharaoh Aknumkanon do that we didn't do?" Priestess Ishizu wondered.
"Kimora was just a child like Pharaoh Atemu. I doubt that she would be strong enough to use that power without living through it." Priest Shadah said.
"True but Pharaoh Aknumkanon's wife has the same sort of creature only silver. Pharaoh Aknumkanon kept her sane, he kept her in the Palace, and she was so busy taking care of the Prince and unfortunately she didn't live that long. Now one of those factors could be our cure for helping Kimora." Priestess Ishizu said curiously.
"So what are you saying?" Priest Shadah said.
"I'm saying that maybe we should take some of these things into consideration and that way we won't have a repeat of what just happened. You know now that I think about it I sort of agree with Kimora. These people shouldn't treat each other he way they do even though they don't live like Kings and Queens that's still no reason to behave like this. What if we went off like this every time somebody hurt us. This would be a vacant village filled with corpses. That's why we need to be cautious of how we treat people so we never end up like this again." Priestess Ishizu said.
The Pharaoh was still asleep under Aziza's care. She was holding his hand crying afraid that he was going to die. They had taken all his clothes off and cleaned his bruises and wiped the blood from him. It was hard to tell if he was breathing at times because of his dormant state. She tried talking to him but she got so frustrated and threw water on his face and quickly wiped it off but there was still no movement.
On the other hand, Kimora was being taken care of in a special place were only few ever tread. Guards were standing outside the door and Kimora lay sound asleep inside shaking at her Ka's evil words.
"Well done Kimora. My hunger is satisfied."
".............."
"Why so weary. You wanted revenge and you've got it. I only supplied the strength and annihilated the competition. You should be more thankful."
".............."
"I see you seem unappreciative of my service although you still seem kind of tense. But let's not forget...when the people start being nice...I disappear....as will you."
