Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ Songbird ❯ The End of the Show ( Chapter 11 )
The two guards were slaughtered almost instantly as he made his way into her room standing over her. She was still asleep but her eyelids would occasionally squint as if she was having a bad dream and couldn't wake up. He walked calmly over to her and reached out his arms to lift her up. He stopped watching her ball her hand into a fist and then release it. He hesitated again and then lifted her up and carried her out of the room.
"If those Priests don't want you here then I will do them a favor."
She opened her eyes and looked into his and saw only darkness. "That isn't Priest Seto..." she thought to herself. As heartbroken as she is about what her Ka did she let him take her away hoping that the Pharaoh would come and save her. It seemed like hours before they arrived in the Veju Shrine and waiting was a blank stone tablet. "He's dead..." She thought to herself. Imagining the Pharaoh carrying her away to safety and defeating Zork. But the dream soon shattered and now she has to save herself. She woke up and scrambled in his arms and he dropped her on the floor and she ran as fast as she could back to the Palace but he was hot on her tail reaching out to grab her. He grabbed her hair and pulled her back but she wasn't giving up the fight grabbing his ankle and biting it he let her go and threw her into the wall and she turned over on her stomach holding it looking at him with golden eyes, crying of pain.
"That's right summon your beast so I can seal it in this tablet and make it my own."
"Kimora no!"
She turned her head slowly and saw the Pharaoh running over to her still hurt from earlier.
"Stop, no more! I will take care of him."
Kimora focused her eyes back on Zork who was taunting her to make her attack.
"Oh please your going to listen to him? The same one that put you out in the village with all of those ignorant peasants?"
"Don't listen to him! If I would have known that I couldn't stop it then I would have let you stay in the Palace with me were you would be protected."
"Liar! If Pharaoh Aknumkanon couldn't save you what makes you think this pathetic excuse for a King will ever help you. No one can help you but I."
"Kimora he can never help you. He wants to take your Ka away but I want to save you and your Ka from him. I'm sorry that my father couldn't help you but I know I can give me a chance."
"You had your chance now let me help you!"
"No he will only help you to your grave I will help get your life back even better then it was if you put more trust into me."
"You can never trust him he will only make your life much worse then it already is."
"Kimora..."
"If you chose him I'll understand. You want to live in misery the rest of your life continuing to kill everyone that you despise. Until no one is left for you to blame your hurt for."
"Kimora I love you...I know I am late in saying this but I do. I wouldn't go through all of this if I didn't. I know my people are going to condemn me for saying this but I love you and I think that's a lot more then what Zork will ever have to offer you."
Kimora looked at him and her eyes started to dim down while Zork was trying to figure out a way to make her summon her monster.
"He doesn't mean it he is only saying that because he is afraid of your beast. Summon it now and show them all that you are not afraid!"
Kimora looked at the Pharaoh and he walked up to her without fear offering his hand and she reached out and he grabbed it pulling her up.
"Bad mistake..."
Zork attacked and Kimora pushed the Pharaoh onto the floor and half of her Ka appeared and struck Zork. He fell to his knees holding his side and she walked up to him shaking her head and then kneeling down and cupping his chin and lifting his head up.
"No one can control me...."
She slapped him across the face, stood up and backed away destroying the empty tablet and then finishing him off returning Priest Seto to his former self. The Pharaoh ran over to Priest Seto who was still barely breathing but alive nonetheless and the Pharaoh was relieved.
"I'm sorry..."
Kimora ran away and the Pharaoh called out to her but she was already out of the Veju Shrine headed back to the Palace. The Pharaoh helped Priest Seto up and hassled to get back to the Palace.
"Why didn't you go after her?" Priest Seto said coughing and breathing heavily.
"Because I didn't want to leave you behind again. I know she hasn't gone far so once I get you some help I will go after her."
"Thank you..."
"Anytime..."
They headed back to the Palace and were surprised to see everyone coming together to help rebuild the Palace. The Pharaoh's face lit up like a light and he smiled with great gratitude. They got back to the Palace and some servants quickly rushed over and took Priest Seto out of the Pharaoh's hands. Aziza walked up to the Pharaoh still holding onto that same little girl that arrived with Priestess Ishizu and Kimora only much cleaner.
"If you're looking for Kimora she is in the garden."
"Thank you."
The Pharaoh headed straight there while watching his people rebuild his Palace with a much appraised look on his face. He entered the garden and saw Kimora sitting on her knees looking about singing. He crept up quietly to her and rested his hands on her shoulders.
"Kimora?"
"I have done a terrible thing. Not only did I kill Zork but also I think I may have killed someone else. I'm sorry but maybe Zork was right maybe it would be better if I go away for good and never return."
"Kimora no one is going to die anymore not by your Ka or by Zork. I should have done better by protecting you and my people but I didn't and now that I have a second chance I will."
"That still won't change what I have done. I doubt that you will ever love me again after this but I'm sorry."
"Kimora...what are you saying?"
"You'll find out soon enough...."
Kimora left the garden and a servant ran past her almost falling over trying to get to the Pharaoh.
"My Lord we need you right now!"
"What happened?"
"Priest Seto is..."
Without another word the Pharaoh headed to the room were Priest Seto was being kept.
