Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ Songbird ❯ Journey to the City of Amentatekna ( Chapter 14 )
Kimora spent most of her time looking out the window from her room watching the people while singing. Aziza would come to check on her every so often but this time when she came in she seemed terrified. Her face had a worried and scared expression.
"We are all doomed. Maybe you should have killed us all earlier."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean that the Pharaoh went to that dreaded thief city and he said that he saw another survivor and she said the spirits will not stop until they have killed 99 of us and once they have done that she will gain a great dark power."
Kimora left the windowsill and ran to Aziza's side.
"Are you sure?"
"I am sure. Anybody could be next at this rate. I guess what we feared the most has come back to haunt us."
"This is terrible. No amount of pain I bring can top this."
"But can't you try to stop them at least?"
"No, because I cannot summon my Ka again and this Ka can only attack living things."
"It's over..."
"No it isn't there has to be away we can save some of your people."
"Well we better hurry now. So far 15 people have died."
Priestess Ishizu entered the room and sat down.
"Kimora if their was ever a time we needed you its now."
"Aziza already told me what's going on."
"Good then, maybe your Ka can defeat these creatures."
"Not happening. I can only kill living things. The silver Ka is the one that can kill non-living things."
"Do you know any way to get to this silver Ka?"
"No, she would have to be alive for it to destroy these spirits."
"Well you have to find a way to bring that Ka out to destroy these spirits."
"But I don't know how!"
"Please Kimora we need you to do anything you can just hurry!"
Priestess Ishizu left and Kimora picked up a vase and threw it against the wall.
"How am I suppose to help them when I don't know how. They wanted me to lay low and now they want my help. This is crazy."
"I'll help you Kimora. Don't give up I know we can find away."
"But why is she putting the lives of those people in my hands? If they are supposed to protect me why are they constantly leaving their problems in my hands?"
"Because only you and my mother know about these monsters and if they can help us in some way then we need to know now. I'm sorry if we seem like we are pressuring you but I don't know how else to ask you. My people will be very grateful if they knew that you helped them."
The Pharaoh walked in and Aziza just stared but Kimora turned her head away.
"Yeah I'm sure they would be jumping up at the thought. I'll do it I guess if it means that much to you all."
"Thank you Kimora."
Aziza smiled and left the room.
Kimora sat back on the window sill, feeling a soft hand move up her thigh and grab her around the waist pulling her close and kissing her but she pushed him off and left the room.
When Kimora got downstairs Priestess Mana came running up to her with a map to show how to get to the Queens Temple.
"Kimora!" The Pharaoh called out to her.
The Pharaoh announced that he was going too but his Priests refused to let him do so.
"I don't want Kimora to go alone so I'll go with her."
"I said I would go with her."
"No, I said I will go and that's final. There are many of you here to protect the Palace and the people. Don't worry I'll be fine."
"If you say so..." Aziza said rolling her eyes.
"I hope nothing but the best for both of you then."
"Thank you Ishizu."
"Well here is some good news for you before you go. Our people have almost completed the Temple for Priest Seto and while we are awaiting the finishing touches we will prepare his body for burial."
"Very good news indeed. Thank you. Now my friend will truly rest in peace."
"Kimora let us prepare you before you leave."
She wore a long black hooded garment with gold edges that spread out like a dress and covered her face with the hood so as to not be seen by the villagers.
The Pharaoh also disguised himself wearing a black hooded garment that stopped at his ankles but didn't spread out.
They rode on one horse together and walked slowly out of the village.
"Why have you chosen to come with me?"
"I don't want anything to happen to you. Every time you are by yourself things happen so maybe if I am with you we will be safe."
"That's very sweet of you but a very poor excuse. Now why have you really come along with me?"
"I feel as if we will not be together much longer. If you hadn't come along that would have been me dead instead of Priest Seto. You have protected me more then I have protected you and I am very grateful for that."
"Do you really love me like you said you did?"
"Yes, I love you."
"Then your crazier then I thought."
They both laughed and rode off into the desert to the city of Amentatekna. All the dead Kings and Queens lie here. It is a fair distance from the Palace and is filled with traps placed by the Priests of these Kings to protect their leaders.
