—What in hellfire makes you people think this story is over? Oh wait…yeah this is the last chapter. Okay, so you guys want me to work on Romeo and Romeo? I can do that. I think I'll change the title to Romeo and Jounouchi, but I dunno. I'm gonna get jitters when I write my first Seto/Jou lemon. XD I'm not a huge Kaiba or Jou fan. This should be interesting in a good way. There's still time to get votes in, though.

Epilogue
Bakura woke as soon as the sun peeked over the horizon. The Thief King's bedroom had no windows, but Bakura didn't need to see the sunlight to know it was morning. He just knew it by instinct. Ryou was still sleeping peacefully as Bakura dressed and prepared for his trek to the previous Pharaoh's tomb. He would take only a few men. Two men would be lookouts while the other men would be bait should they run into any traps that weren't on the tomb map.
Bakura tucked the map into his shenti securely. The tomb map was the most important part of Bakura's plan. With it, Bakura could easily navigate through the tomb and right up to Pharaoh Akunumkanon's sarcophagus. The Thief King ate a few bits of fruit, saving the rest for when Ryou awakened.
Ryou stirred and woke as Bakura downed some water before leaving the room. “Kura…” Ryou whined, sleepily. It was a longing whine and for just a moment, Bakura thought of abandoning his revenge and running far, far away with Ryou always at his side.
However…the moment passed and Bakura said, without looking at his love, “I am leaving, Ryou. I am taking only six men with me. The rest will stay here. Until I return, you are in charge. I will make sure the men know this.”
Ryou was off the bed and clinging to the Thief King like a frightened kitten. “Please, Kura! Don't go through with this! I beg you, please! Gods, we can start a new life together. Somewhere away from Egypt and away from these people! We could start our own kingdom. Just you and me, Kura!” He was crying now and his voice came in great gulping sobs.
Bakura gently lifted Ryou off him and placed the boy on the bed. He made a love bite on Ryou's neck so hard that it broke the skin and the young thief bled. Ryou held back a moan of pleasure when he felt his lover's familiar fingers dance across his weeping penis.
“Ryou, stay here. Wait for me. Leave Egypt if you must, but know this. I shall find you, my prince among thieves.” Bakura left Ryou sobbing and shaking on the bed. It was the last time Bakura would see his young lover for 5,000 years.

“Where do you plan on leading us, sir?” Striker asked as he tied his pack onto his mount. The band of thieves was preparing to leave. All of the horses and camels were well-fed and watered so they would last a long way before stopping.
Ryou—dressed in a white and gold, open jacket and a red shenti with black shoes trimmed with yellow thread—looked up at his second-in-command. “As far from this place as possible, Striker. If anything happens to me, I trust you with their lives.” He gestured to the rest of the band as they mounted their beasts.
Striker said nothing in response, but Ryou knew that the man would remain loyal. Ryou turned and looked towards the city that he had been born in. He hated it and wanted to be as far from that city as possible. The band of thieves accepted Ryou as their new leader, fearing that Bakura would be killed. But Ryou had faith in his lover. Before they left, Ryou took a dagger that Striker had given to him on his birthday and cut his cheek. He formed a scar that looked somewhat similar to the scar on Bakura's right cheek; a vertical scar just below the right eye with two horizontal marks.
Ryou wiped some of the blood away on his palm and pressed the bloody palm to a flat stone at the entrance of the caverns where the band had once lived. Bakura would find it and it would remind him of his love. Ryou stowed the dagger in his pack and mounted his horse.
He announced to the band, “We will leave this place. You must show courage and under my guidance, we shall know what it means to live our lives as decent people. No more stealing the food we need. We can grow our own. We can build our own city!”
Silence at first, then a thunderous roar of excitement and joy filled the air as the band of thieves rode out for parts unknown. None of them knew what would happen, but they trusted and honored Ryou like a god, as they did Bakura. They would follow Ryou the ends of the earth. He was their new Thief King.
———————
Night had fallen. Ryou and the band of thieves were well away from Pharaoh Atemu's city by this point. Bakura, bruised and defeated, trudged back to the caverns atop his tired mount. When he found no one there, Bakura lit a torch and searched through every nook, crevice, and bedroom of his hideout. Not a soul in sight. Bakura walked dumbfounded towards the entrance of the caverns.
Ryou left so soon, Bakura thought, but how could he? Leave without me…dammit. He doused his torch with some sand and sat in the shadows of the cavern entrance. “My men and my love are gone. It looks like I'm alone now. I'll complete this plan by myself. I'll find Ryou someday…”
The Thief King looked up and there, in the pale moonlight reflecting off the cavern wall opposite of him, was a dried bloody handprint. Bakura stood and placed his own hand over it. His hand was only slightly bigger. It didn't take but a second for the Thief King to know who had made the handprint.
“Yes, Ryou…” he whispered quietly, looking out over the ocean of sand, “I will find you someday…”
