The Process of Elimination

Wheeler was getting worried

`I'm sure I have a card in there that can win me this duel. Shield and Sword won't work since its defence points are quite strong. Wait Graceful and Skull dice. Either one can help me out. I just have to draw for it'

He closed his eyes and he drew his card. He laughed

"I got it I got it!"

"What?"

"First I'll play Monster Reborn to revive my Thousand Dragon, then I play Skull Dice"

"No!"

"Roll the dice!"

The dice was rolling and it landed on a 2. The Buster Bladers attack power was reduced to 1800

"That won't be enough to defeat me"

"Correction it will. Jinzo attack Buster Blader now!"

Jinzo fired its attack and Sean's monster was annihilated and his life points dropped to 2000

"Thousand Dragon, finish him now!"

The Thousand Dragon breathed fire at Sean's life points and he fell to the ground. Wheeler smiled and he walked to Sean to help him up

"You shouldn't judge people so quickly on previous times"

"I do what I please"

He gave Joey his Locator card and he walked off but he noticed Balfour was gone

"Where is Balfour?"

Andrew saw him

"There, he is duelling someone"

Joey could see who it was

"Weevil Underwood"

They all ran to see David and Weevil just getting started.

"Two locator cards on this one"

"Agreed. Loser is out of the Tournament"

Balfour drew first

"Ok Bug boy, a monster face down defence mode and the Two headed Wolf in attack mode and two cards face down"

Weevil saw the position of one of the cards

`A field card. Mystic Plasma Zone since he has mainly dark monsters'

"I will play Scroll of Bewitchment to change the type of monster into a wind monster. Then I play Insect Soldiers of the Sky"

The attack points of the monster increased to 2000

"What?"

"The special ability of my card means that when my monster attacks a wind monster its attack power is increased to 2000. Attack my Soldiers now!"

Weevil's monsters destroyed Balfour's wolf and his life points dropped to 3500. Weevil laughed as David drew

"This match has only begun. I will sacrifice my face down monster to summon Ushi Oni!"

"What is that?"

"A very strong monster and since its not a wind monster your Insect Soldiers are reduced back to1000"

"Uh no!"

"Ushi Oni attack now!"

Weevil's Soldiers were rammed down and his life points dropped to 2850. Sean smiled

"Great move Balfour"

Weevil drew again and he smiled

"I play forced Exchange"

"Huh?"

"This means I get to place one card in your hand and you place one in mine"

Weevil walked to Balfour

"I will put this card in your hand"

He gave him a Parasite Paracide. Dave gave him Soul Demolition. Weevil walked back to his side

"Now I play Parasite Paracide"

Balfour was confused but Joey was stunned. The card in Dave's hand was activated on the field

"Uh no, this move"

Sean looked at him

"He did this to me. It turns all Balfour's monsters into insects then Weevil will play the Insect Barrier so he can stall to summon the Giant Moth"

Sean nodded not caring about what Joey had to say. Weevil drew his card

"And now I play Insect Barrier. So now your monsters can't attack me"

He laughed

"And finally I will play the Petit Moth and equip it with the Cocoon of Evolution in defence mode. 4 turns Balfour then it's all over"

"I still have some tricks up my sleeve"

He drew

"I will summon the Mystic Tomato in attack mode"

Weevil drew his card

"One turn gone. I'll pass"

Balfour drew his card and he sighed

"I pass"

"Balfour this is getting too easy. Two turns."

Balfour drew again and he smiled

"This card face down and that's me"

Weevil thought

`Maybe he does have something to stop me. Well I'll just have to beat him to the punch'

"One card face down and that's my turn done. Three turns done"

Balfour drew again and he sighed

"Damn it. I'll play Ookazi to take off 900 of your life points Go on, summon this great beast. I'll place my monsters into defence mode"

Weevil laughed as his life points dropped to 2050

"With pleasure. Behold the awesome power of my Great Moth"

He laughed as a huge bug appeared in the sky

"Attack his Ushi Oni now!"

Balfour's monster was attacked and easily destroyed and his life points dropped to 3150.

"And I'm not done yet. I'll summon Jirai Gumo in attack mode. I'll flip a coin"

He flicked a coin in his hand

"I call tails"

He looked at the coin and even though it was heads he smiled

"Tails it is. Attack Jirai Gumo!"

Balfour was struck down by Weevil's monster and his life points dropped to 950. Balfour closed his eyes and he drew a card. He laughed

"I've done it!"

"I summon the Titan of Terror and I'll sacrifice them both with the Ritual Curse of the Masked Beast"

Sean and the others smiled

"His strongest monster"

A huge monster with a large tail appeared on the field

"Behold, the Masked Beast Weevil!"

"Reveal face down card, Paralysing Potion"

"Wrong Weevil. Magic Jammer!"

Dave discarded a card from his hand and Weevil's potion was destroyed

"And I'm not done yet Weevil. I will activate Mage power!"

"Balfour has this one in the bag"

The Masked Beast's attack power rose to 4700 and he laughed. Weevil freaked

"It's stronger than my monster"

"And that's not all. It now has enough to destroy your monster and your life points. Masked Beast attack now!"

Dave's monster slashed down Weevil's moth with its club and Weevil's life points hit 0. Sean and the others cheered. Balfour walked to Weevil

"Your locator card please"

"No"

Balfour pulled him up and he took it from him

"You lost it fair and square, now beat it!"

He pushed him to the ground and Balfour looked at Joey.

"Wheeler. Good to see you again Wheeler"

"Likewise"

Sean looked at Dave

"How come you two are such good friends?"

"We teamed up together in the last Battle City Tournament"

"And what a team we made"

Michael was walking with Tea. He was looking up at the sky and he saw someone standing on the roof of a rather large building

"Who's that up there"

The man stepped back and hid from view

"Who's who?"

"Someone is up there."

He walked into the building and he walked up the steps until he reached the roof access. He walked unto the roof and a man was standing on the edge of the roof, his long coat blowing in the wind

"Welcome Michael"

"Dave Semple?"

He turned around and he had a duel disk on his arm. Michael smiled

"I'm up for the challenge. Name your stakes"

"One card."

"Agreed now lets duel"

They readied their decks and their disks. Michael drew first

"La Jinn in attack mode and once card face down"

"Strong monster, so I'll summon Gamma the Magnet Warrior in defence mode and one card face down"

Michael drew

"I will summon Jinzo#7 in attack mode and equip him with the Sword of the Deep Seated. And now Jinzo #7, attack his life points directly"

Semple was struck head on by Jinzo's attack and his life points dropped to 3000. Semple drew again

"Beta the Magnet Warrior in attack mode and I'll play Eternal Rest"

Michael's Jinzo #7 was destroyed

"Damn"

"And now I play Gaia power to increase my Beta's attack power by 500 points. Attack his La Jinn now!"

Michael's monster was sliced to shreds and his life points dropped to 3600

"What a loss. Oh well"

He drew another card and he smiled

"Fiend Mega cyber in attack mode!"

A large machine like monster appeared on the field

"I didn't need a sacrifice because of its special ability, in case you were wondering"

"What do you think I am some kind of amateur?"

"Well…yeah"

"I'll show you!"

"It's still my turn. Attack Gamma the Magnet Warrior!"

Michael's monster easily wiped out Semple's monster. Semple drew again

`Damn. He took out the monster I needed for the summoning of my strongest monster. Oh well I'll just have to keep him on ice'

"I will reveal my face down card, Jam Breeding Machine"

A large machine appeared on the field and a small slime head was made with 500 attack and defence points

"A sacrifice on my next turn"

"He won't make it that far for now I play Soul Exchange"

Semple's slime token was taken as was Michael's fiend Mega Cyber and he summoned the Red Eyes Black Dragon. It roared as it appeared on the field

"And now, attack his Magnet Warrior now!"

Michael's monster easily wiped out Semple's monster and his life points dropped to 2800. Semple was getting angry

`Another Magnet Warrior gone'

He looked at his hand

`Monster Reborn. I have an idea'

"I will play the Eye of Truth"

Michael showed Semple his hand

"Excellent and now I place a card face down then I play Exchange"

Semple walked to Michael and he took his Monster Reborn card. Michael took Semple's De Fusion. They returned to their positions

"Ok Michael, prepare yourself for now I summon Alpha the Magnet Warrior. Then I play the two monster Reborn cards I have to revive my other two Magnet Warriors and finally I will sacrifice them all to summon Valkyrion the Magna Warrior!"

"I knew it!"

"And now I will destroy your Red Eyes, Valkyrion take out the dragon now!"

Semple's monster sliced down Michael's Red Eyes and his life points dropped to 2500. Michael looked at his next card

`Metalmorph. I could have used this card. Oh man! But wait, increase the attack points of a monster by half of the attack points of the chosen target. So my monster could get a power boost of…2050.'

He smiled

`And I know the perfect monster'

"I'll place a monster card face down in defence mode"

"Ok then. I will summon Battle Ox in attack mode. Valkyrion, attack now!"

Semple's monster sliced the card in half and it was the Magician of Faith

"Thanks Dave. Cause now I can call back a magic card from my graveyard and I will now play it. Reveal Soul Exchange"

"Ah no!"

Semple's Battle Ox was sacrificed and Michael's Patrician of Darkness appeared on the field

"And then I will play Metal Morph to power him up by 300. Attack his Valkyrion now!"

Michael's monster was about to attack

"This is stupid"

Michael's monster sliced down Valkyrion and Semple life points dropped to 2250

"What! What happened?"

Michael smiled

"I thought Metalmorph was only used for my Red Eyes Black Metal Dragon. But it can be used with any monster. It increases my monsters attack power by half of the target Monster. So I gained a power increase of 2050 and your strongest monster is gone and no more Monster Reborn cards"

Semple was crushed

"I can't believe this"

Michael looked at him

"Then give up cause it won't get any easier"

Semple drew and he smiled

"I will summon the Sonic Maid and ultimate offering to summon the Beautiful Head huntress. Then fuse them with Polymerisation to summon the Warrior of Tradition"

Semple's life points were at 1750

"I'll also equip him with the Legendary Sword to increase his attack power to 2100. Attack the Patrician of Darkness now!"

"Wrong, reveal block attack!"

Semple's monster was blocked and it returned to his side of the field. Michael looked at his hand

"Well Semple. It seems the card you gave me has defeated you. I will play De-Fusion!"

"No!"

Semple's monsters separated into the two single cards into attack mode

"They are in attack mode?"

"Correct. That is the position you set them in and its how they are now. I will now summon the Headless Knight in attack mode. Attack him now!"

The Patrician of Darkness with 3100 attack points destroyed the Head huntress taking his life points down to 250 and his Headless Knight attacked his Sonic Maid dropping his life points to 0. Tea was cheering as Michael smiled

"You lose Dave"

Semple threw him his locator card and he ran down the steps. Tea hugged Michael

"That was amazing"

"I'm the best remember"

They walked back down the steps of the building

Yugi had just won his first duel and Joey, Balfour, Sean and Andrew were there as well. Yugi had just beaten a boy called Jamie

"How many cards you got now Yugi?"

"4. Just one more match and I will be in the finals"

"Great. And I'm going to meet you there"

Darren walked into the square and he saw Yugi and the others

"Perfect, the King of Games is here."

He looked up

"Hey Yugi"

Everyone turned to see Darren there

"Hey Darren"

"Hey Dave. Yugi lets go now"

Wheeler spoke up

"But he has just duelled someone and is needs a break"

"Too bad. I'm calling him out and according to Battle City rules you can't refuse"

Yugi smiled

"I am seeking a worthy opponent, so I accept Darren"

Darren smiled as he readied his duel disk, as did Yugi

"Time to duel"

"One card on this match Yugi. Its all I need"

"Agreed"

The players drew their cards. Darren drew his first card

"I'll summon the UFO Turtle in attack mode and two cards face down"

Yugi drew his card

"Celtic Guardian in attack mode and two cards face down"

Darren drew again

"I will now summon the Robotic Knight in attack mode and another card face down. Attack Robotic Knight!"

Yugi smiled

"I'm sorry to disappoint, reveal face down card, reinforcements, which increases the ATK power of my Celtic Guardian by 500 making it 300 points stronger than your Robotic Knight"

Darren smiled

"Guess again, reveal Burning Spear"

Darren's monster was equipped with a fire spear and he wiped out Yugi's monster and dropped his life points to 3900.

"But wait. I have another monster on the field. UFO Turtle hit his life points now!"

The UFO Turtle fired a line of fire at Yugi and his life points dropped to 2500. Yugi drew his next card

`Perfect the Dark Magician and the Book of Secret Arts. I can use Card Destruction and the Monster Reborn on the field to summon the Dark Magician'

"I will set one card face down then I will play Card Destruction"

"No, my Monster Reborn!"

"Is gone"

Both players discarded their hands and drew the amount they discarded

"And I'm not through, reveal face down cards. Monster Reborn!"

Yugi's Dark Magician appeared on the field

"And my other card the Book of Secret Arts raises his attack and defence power by 300. I will now attack your UFO Turtle"

Yugi's monster wiped out Darren's monster and his life points dropped to 2600

"And I'll finish with a card face down. We are just about level, Darren"

"Yeah Yugi, that was a good move but I you have activated the special ability of my UFO Turtle. I can summon a fire monster to the field with 1500 attack points or less from my deck and with the held of your card Destruction…"

Darren's Giga Tech Wolf appeared on the field in defence mode

"I can sacrifice both my monsters to summon the Tyrant Dragon!"

Darren's huge monster appeared on the field and Yugi was stunned

"What have I done?"

"You did me a favour Yugi, that's what! Tyrant Dragon, attack his Dark Magician now!"

Yugi smiled

"Face down card activate, Magical hats!"

The Dark Magician vanished and 4 hats appeared on the field. The Tyrant Dragon's attack destroyed one of them

"Damn I didn't get it"

"Then you will have to guess correctly next time, for under the wrong hat is a nice little trap. Your move, think carefully"

Darren was confused

`Perfect I don't know which one he is under. Wait, who says I have to attack'

"I choose to pass my attack but I'll summon Fire Kraken in attack mode"

Everyone was surprised even Yugi

`He is very smart, but I'll lure him into attacking'

Yugi drew his card

"I play Pot of Rewards"

"What is that?"

"It forces one of my opponent's monsters to attack but you pick the target"

`Damn, Yugi got me'

"Attack the middle hat"

Darren's monster launched its attack and the hat was destroyed

"No!"

A circle came around Darren's monster

"No!"

"The spellbinding Circle, reduces your attack power by 700. Dark Magician appear! Attack with Dark magic attack!"

The Tyrant Dragon was wiped out and Darren was crushed. His life points dropped to 2000

"Yugi! You will pay for that!"

Darren drew his card and he laughed

"I've done it Yugi. Shallow Grave!"

Darren's Tyrant Dragon reappeared on the field in defence mode as did Yugi's Celtic Guardian

"And now I play two Stop Defence cards"

"Oh no!"

Both Darren's Tyrant Dragon and Yugi's Celtic guardian were placed into attack mode

"Tyrant Dragon attack!!"

Darren's monster unleashed a blast of fire and Yugi's Celtic guardian was burnt to a crisp. Yugi's life points dropped to 1000. Joey was getting nervous but Dave and the others were enjoying the match

"You should have destroyed my Dark Magician because now it will destroy you!"

"Wrong Yugi, my turn isn't over!"

"What?"

"You forget about my monsters special ability. If there are two monsters on my opponent's side of the field I can attack twice in one battle Phase. Tyrant Dragon, take out the Dark Magician!"

The Tyrant Dragon easily took out Yugi's Dark Magician and his life points dropped to 900

"That's enough!"

"Hardly Yugi cause I have one final move to play"

He looked at his Fire Kraken

"The King of Games will now be defeated. Fire Kraken, hit his life points directly!"

Yugi's was struck down by Darren's monster and his life points hit zero. Everyone was cheering but Yugi and Joey were crushed

"Yugi, you ok?"

"I'm fine"

Darren walked to him

"Your locator card"

Yugi gave him a locator card and Darren smiled as he walked off

"See you in the finals Yugi"

"I look forward to it"
