Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ The Best Christmas Ever! ❯ Day 4 ( Chapter 4 )
*~Wednesday: December the Eleventh~*
All right! Day 4 of Christmas preparation at Domino High! They just had their Sleepover Night, now today was gonna be SHOPPING DAY!!! YAY!!! ^-^The students were gonna ride in buses to the Domino Mall to buy gifts for their families and friends. The seniors, juniors, and sophmores had already left on their buses. All that was left were the freshmen.
"I can't believe we have to wait for the bathrooms!" Joey yelled impatiently, carrying his clothes in his arms. Who wouldn't be angry? There are about 242 freshmen and only like six bathrooms in the whole school. >_<
"Hey! Let's hurry it up! A girl's gotta look good for a shopping trip at the mall!" Mai yelled from the middle of the girl's line.
"Anyone ever try the locker rooms?" Yami stood there with his arms crossed, out of his pajamas and fully dressed. His friends exchanged the "Why didn't we think of that?" look. So the rest of the students filed into the locker rooms. After a stressful half hour of waiting, the freshmen headed for the buses and they were on their way.
The buses finally got to the mall. The mall was covered in lights and two giant wreaths hung above the entrance. The rest of the grades were just emptying their buses and going through the mall's glass doors.
"Remember everyone, be back on the buses by 3:00. Anything else I should go over?" one of the seniors announced.
"Yeah! Could you possibly tell Mai that this day ain't for shopping just for herself!" Joey shouted.
"Hmph!" A little purple purse immediately smacked into Joey's face. "Ow!"
*~A Few Hours Later in the Mall~*
The mall was bright with lights all over the place. Christmas displays in the window of stores. The building was crowded with people trying to get their holiday shopping done as soon as possible. Yugi, Joey, and Tristan were sitting at a table in the food court. To no surprise, they already finished their shopping. It's probably a "boy thing".
"Hey guys, where are the others?" It was Bakura. He was coming over with shopping bags in his arms. He walked to the table and sat down, relieved. "Just taking a short rest."
"You know Mai, probably spending all of her money for herself." Joey sighed.
"Yami and Téa must be still shopping." Tristan said.
*~Somewhere Else~*
Yami went up and down, left and right throughout the whole mall. This is the first time he went shopping by himself. It was pretty easy picking out presents for everyone else, but that all changed when it came to Téa. He had no idea what she wanted. He had checked most of the stores and couldn't really find anything. He wanted to give Téa something special.
'What would she want?' He thought about what she liked to do. Well, there was dancing. Téa loved to dance. She would probably want some music or something to dance to. So, he decided to get her a CD. When he entered the store, he saw a whole variety of music. Now here was another problem...
'WHAT KIND OF MUSIC DOES SHE LIKE?!' Yami groaned irritably. 'I hope Téa is more successful than I am...'
*~Someplace Else~*
"WHAT DOES HE WANT?!" a now frustrated Téa shouted. "There's got to be something here that he would want!" she went around searching store after store. Téa went so crazy, that people started to stare.
"WHAT DOES HE WANT?!" she yelled again. She then grabbed some passerby stranger by the collar. 0.o "THERE'S GOT TO BE SOMETHING HERE THAT HE WANTS!"
"Uh, um....uh, well..." the stranger stuttered.
"Oh, shut up! You're no help at all!" Téa threw the guy into a line of waiting people. The line of fell like a bunch of dominoes. (Get it? They fell like dominoes. And they live in Domino City! Oh, forget it...¬ ¬) She continued her present search, until she spotted something over at one of the store windows.
'Maybe...'
It was at least half an hour and Yami and Téa had finally come back from their shopping.
"What took you guys?" Joey asked.
"Sorry, shopping sure is tough." Téa sat down relieved.
"You're telling me." Mai joined in.
"What time is it?" Yugi asked.
Tristan looked at his watch. "2:30."
"Maybe we should be heading back for the buses now." Bakura said.
*~On the Way Back to the Exit~*
The group headed for the buses. Then they passed a big display in the center of the mall. It was covered in "snow" and there were giant snowmen standing at every corner. There were pretty lights and glitter all over the place. In the middle of it all stood a huge red and green cottage. There was a long line of not adults, but children outside the door.
"Must be Santa." Bakura pointed out.
"Who?" Yami asked.
"Oh, Santa Claus is that jolly saint that gives presents to good kids all over the world." Joey said.
The group continued walking, listening to the laughter of the happy kids, and looking at the scenery. Suddenly, they spotted a familiar someone among the crowd.
"Hey, isn't that Seto Kaiba?" Mai pointed out the figure in the blue trenchcoat.
"Yeah, that is Kaiba." Yugi and his friends ran over to him. "Hey Kaiba."
"Yugi? What are you doing here?" he asked.
"Oh, you know. Last minute shopping." he answered.
"What are you doin' here? Seein' Santa? You have been a good little boy lately haven't you?" Joey teased.
"Of course not I'm not seeing Santa, you overgrown chihuahua! Mokuba begged me to bring him here." Seto snapped back. "I wonder what's taking him so long?"
*~In Santa's House~*
Inside Santa's House, a little boy was sitting on "Jolly Old St. Nicholas" ' lap. Only St. Nicholas wasn't exactly jolly.
"....I want a pony. And a chair made out of cheeese. And table made out cheeeese. And I also want a-" the kid was about to say the next thing that he wanted until Santa interrupted him.
"GET THIS KID OFF OF ME!!!" he yelled out, the "cute kid" was carried out of the house. The "elves", the waiting kids, and the people around the display were wide eyed and sweatdropped.
Santa laughed nervously and then cheerfully said "Okay, which one of you kiddies is next?"
"I am!" It was finally little Mokuba's turn to meet Santa Claus. He hurried up the small steps and sat on Santa's lap. "Hi Santa! My name's Mokuba. But you probably knew that anyway." he gave a big smile to the saint. (Go Aaaawww! ^.^)
"Hello Mokuba. Have you been a good little boy this year?" the man in red asked him.
"You bet!"
"That's very good. Now what present do you want this Christmas?" he asked merrily.
"Oh, I don't want a present." Mokuba replied.
Santa was quite surprised. "You don't? There has to be some toy or something that you want."
"Nope! My Christmas wish is..." Mokuba leaned in to whisper in Santa's ear. "I hope my brother Seto likes my present for him." (Go Aaaawww! ^.^)
He may have not been the real Santa Claus, but the man in the red suit was just touched by this child's wish. He couldn't help but agree to this request. He didn't want to break the kid's heart.
"All right Mokuba. I will make sure that I grant that wish for you. That's a very nice thing to ask for."
"Thanks Santa!" Mokuba laughed cheerfully and jumped off Santa's lap. He ran toward his older brother, and he saw Yugi and his friends too.
'Hi guys!" he greeted.
"Hey Mokuba." they said.
"Uh, I was wondering, do you guys wanna come to Christmas party of mine on the twenty fourth?"
"Well-" Seto started.
"Of course we would!" Mokuba shouted.
"Mokuba-oh, forget it."
"Great! You can come caroling with us tomorrow too." Téa added.
"Oh, c'mon guys. It's almost three. We have to get back to the buses." Mai said.
"Alright, we'll see you two tomorrow at the school."
"Bye!" Mokuba waved.
