The Cast:

Mary: Mai

Joseph: Joey (What can I say? The name fits.)

Gabriel: Bakura (He is just soooangelic!)

Little Drummer Boy: Yugi (He's just sooo cute!!! ^.^)

Star: Téa (She's gonna dance a ballet number or something.)

Shepherd1: Tristan (I'm running out of people here!)

King3: Yami

Baby Jesus: Uh.......one of the junior's baby brother.

"We're holding a play on Friday the Thirteenth!?!?" Joey wailed.

"We're all gonna die." Tristan sighed.

"Now come on guys, don't get your hopes down. We can do this." Mai, dressed as the Virgin Mary, started to walk over to them, but tripped over her long blue garment. "On second thought........THE PLAY'S GONNA BE A DISASTER!!!! Mai screamed, dazed from her fall.

"Yo! Mary and Gabriel! Get on the stage!" a sophmore yelled out. Mai headed for the stage. Bakura came out of his dressing room, wearing a white robe with feathery wings, started over but was stopped by the sophmore.

"Uh, you're not going out there." he said.

"What do you mean?" Bakura asked, ruffling his wings.

"Nope. You're going up there." the sophmore pointed to the upper set.

Bakura gazed up at the high distance above him. "You mean I have to go all the way up there?" he asked nervously.

*~On Stage~*

The curtains weren't even open yet, and Mai was already nervous. When she came into the school, there had already been a lot of people seated in the auditorium's seats. She also caught a glimpse of Seto and Mokuba Kaiba. Joey even brought his little sister Serenity to watch the performance, who was sitting next to the Kaibas and Rebecca came over too.

"Teddy and me are gonna like this." Rebecca said excitedly.

There was a lot of chatter in the theatre, but it all stopped when the lights dimmed. A spotlight shone at a corner of the back. A girl dressed in long plain robes appeared. She was holding a long walking staff. A few of the students covered in fuzzy costumes. They looked like a bunch of little sheep. The group walked slowly up the aisle, with the "sheep" following their shepherd. The spotlight kept pointing at them as they walked. They walked up the steps and stepped on stage. The sheep stopped walking until the girl stopped at the center of the stage.

"Good Evening everyone. As you can see by my attire, I am but a poor shepherdess. But I have a wonderful story to introduce. It is a very special story and has been told every year around this time." the girl said.

"AAACCHOOO!!!" one of the "sheep" seemed to have just gotten an allergy to his costume.

*~From the Seats~*

"See I told you Seto. Today's Friday the Thirteeth. The play's gonna be a whole mess." Mokuba whispered to Seto.

"Mokuba, there's no such thing as the 'Friday the Thirteenth Curse'." Seto whispered back.

*~Back on the Stage~*

"Um. The story that I will show you is of the Birth of Jesus Christ." the girl continued. "Whoops!" the girl had dropped her staff and accidentally hit one of her sheep.

"Ow!" the 'sheep' yelped.

*~At the Seats (again)~*

"Okay, now that was just a coincidence." Seto whispered, unsure of himself and almost believing in this curse.

"It's the curse." Mokuba whispered, very sure of himself.

*~At the Stage (again)~*

After picking up her staff, the shepherdess continued with her lines.

"Okay. So the story begins with 14 year old Mary. She was betroved to a man named Joseph. Mary was born without sin. She sat down in her house, not knowing what soon would happen to her...." The spotlight on her faded and she started walking off the stage, until she tripped over her long robe and fell down the small steps. "Oof!"

The curtains opened and a spotlight shone on Mai. She was dressed in a long blue tunic. She sat at a table.

*~From Above the Set~*

Bakura, oh, I mean "Gabriel" was hanging from a few wires and a harness and other stuff. He looked down at the great distance below him and whimpered.

"I really don't want to do this." he said nervously.

"Okay lower him!" the stage manager called out.

"Right!" a girl pulled on the rope to lower Bakura. Well, at least it was supposed to lower him.

"Huh? What the?" the girl tried tugging the rope a little harder a few times.

Bakura started to get more and more nervous. He was actually starting to believe in this whole "Friday the Thirteenth Curse."

*~Down at the Stage~*

Mai sat quietly on the chair, waiting impatiently for 'Gabriel' to appear.

'Where is he?!' she thought.

*~From Above the Set (again)~*

The girl continued to tug hard on the rope. Bakura was beginning to get bored of hanging up like an ornament.

'What's taking so long?' Bakura wondered.

*~In the Audience~*

The people were beginning to get a little irritated. Some were looking at their watches, wondering what was taking so long.

"What's taking so long?" Rebecca asked.

"Isn't this when an angel appears to Mary?" Serenity asked.

"It's The Curse." Mokuba repeated.

*~Above the Set (again, again)~*

"What's happening?" the stage manager walked over to the rope.

"I don't know. He won't go down." the girl said.

"Pull harder!" he instructed.

The girl gave a few hard tugs, but he still won't come down.

"I said to pull harder!" he said.

"I'm pulling as hard as I can!" she snapped back.

"Give me that! Let a man do it!" He grabbed the rope and gave a hard pull.

"Huh? AAAAAHHHH!!!" Instead of being lowered, Bakura was dropped down to the stage. Okay, so maybe on the stage. Alright, Alright! He landed face-first on the stage.

*~Backstage~*

"Oh yeah, let a man do it!" the girl said sarcastically. She pulled the rope away from him and tugged on it.

*~Onstage~*

Mai looked over the table to see if Bakura was okay. But in a split second, he was in the air again. He was so high that he was out of view. Mai just shook her head in dispair.

*~Backstage (again)~*

"See! Now look what you did! The audience can't even see him! Give me that!" the boy grabbed the rope.

"Oh, no you don't! You've helped enough!" she took the rope back.

"I'm the stage manger, so give me the rope!" he yelled, loud enough for the audience to hear.

*~The Audience~*

The people were baffled. They had no idea what was going on.

"What's going on?" Serenity asked. Rebecca shrugged her shoulders.

"I'm just as confused as you are." grampa said.

"You don't think there really is a curse, do you?" Serenity asked frantically.

"I'm not taking any chances! I'm too young to die." Mokuba said as he took out a horseshoe. Strangely, Seto did the same, only it was a rabbit's foot. Grampa, Serenity, Rebecca, and Mokuba just stared.

"You know, just in case." he said calmly.

*~At the Stage (again)~*

Mai's head turned upside down, rightside up, bouncin' off the cieling, and all over the place, watching Bakura literally fly around.

*~Backstage (again)~*

"Give me that! You don't even know what you're doing!" the stage manager yelled out.

"Shut up! This is MY job! So leave it to me!" the girl yelled. The two were pulling the rope from each other like a couple of mad people. Bakura started to get dizzy.

"Aw, this is stupid!" Tristan had enough. He walked over to the two and shoved them to the floor. He gave the rope a good pull and Bakura halted at the right spot. Right in front of Mary.

*~The Stage (again)~*

'Finally!' Mai sighed in relief.

"Mary." Bakura said.

Mai put on a worried expression and stood up.

"Uh, don't be afraid Mary. I bring you good news. You're gonna be the mother of a baby. The baby's name will be Jesus and he will be the Savior." he said.

"How could this be? I never had se- Uh, I mean I had no relationship with a man." 'Mary' protested.'

"The Holy Spirit will overshadow you and the child will be concieved in your womb." 'Gabriel' explained.

"Behold! I am the servant of the Lord. Let it be to me according to your word." 'Mary' accepted to God's request.

Without anyone knowing, Bakura's rope was just a few seconds away from breaking. The curtains slowly closed.

((THUMP!!!)))

"Ow!"

"Get off me!"

Bakura's rope snapped and he fell on top of Mai. It's a good thing that the curtains were closed. ^_^º

*~In the Audience~*

"I"m tellin' ya. It's the curse." Mokuba said very sure of himself.

*~Back on the Stage~*

The play continued. They already past Mary's visit to her cousin Elizabeth. They past the part when Joseph and Mary arrived at the stable in the city of Bethlehem. Now they were up to when angels appeared to shepherds.

"Poor shepherds." a girl dressed as an angel appeared. (at least there was no trouble with this angel ^^º)

The shepherds quickly got up.

"Don't be afraid." the angel told them. "I have some great news. A baby's just been born."

"So what's so great about that?" one of the shepherds asked.

"That's not the line!" Tristan muttered under his breath as he nudged the guy in the shoulder.

"Uh, he is the Savior. He was born in a stable and sleeps in a manger." the angel continued.

"How do we get there?" Tristan asked.

"Well, that's simple. Just follow the star." As she said this the lights dimmed. It was really dark on the stage, but you could still see the figures move off the stage.

A blue spotlight shone in a corner of the stage. A midnight blue background with shining stars appeared in the back. Suddenly, a figure stepped out. The figure was dressed in a pale blue, covered in shimmering glitter. The figure in the tutu stepped more into the light. It was Téa. She danced with such grace and her moves were soft and flowing. She looked just like a glowing star, shining high in the sky with such beauty.

Yami watched in awe from backstage. He almost seemed to blush. Okay, so he was blushing.

Suddenly the Star took a few leaps in the air. She looked just like a shooting star, with a tail trailing behind. But that tail was actually ribbons. Ribbons from Téa's toe shoes. They had gotten loose without her knowing. Téa landed and continued her routine. But her feet were getting tangled in the ribbons.

"Oof!" Téa stumbled and slipped, landing on the floor...............Uh, did I mention that she landed in the audience? ^^º

*~In the Audience~*

"Uh, hi Kaiba. Didn't know you were here." Téa said nervously as she sat on Seto's lap.

"Would you get off me!" Seto yelled.

"Heh, heh! Sorry." she laughed nervously.

After Téa got off and back on the stage, Mokuba whispered,

"Now do you believe me Seto? Téa tripped and fell off the stage. I told you...." Mokuba lowered his voice. "It's The Curse."

*~Back on Stage ~*

Téa's dance was obviously over, so the stable background appeared. Since Téa had the part of the Star, she got to sit on top of the stable roof. Inside the stable was Joseph and Mary, holding the baby Jesus in her arms. The baby was asleep, so she was going to gently place him in a wooden manger. But she stopped.

"Hey, where's the manger?" Mai whispered.

"I don't know." Joey whispered back.

"How could I put him in the manger when there is no manger!" Mai mumbled under her breath.

*~Backstage~*

"Where's the manger?!" the stage manager cried out.

"Here it is." one of the students said, holding it up.

"Why didn't you put it on the set?!" he yelled.

"Oh, uh, I don't know." the guy said with a boring tone.

"Well, could you do me a favor?" the stage manager started sweetly.

"Sure, what it is it?" he asked.

"GO PUT THE MANGER ON THE STAGE!!!" he yelled, obviously loud enough for the audience to hear.

*~The Audience~*

"That it! I bet you five bucks it's The Curse!" Mokuba said enthusiastically to Rebecca.

"You're on!" she yelled back.

*~Back to the Show~*

The stupid idiot quickly ran across the stage and placed the manger in front of Mai and Joey. Mai gently settled the baby in the wooden manger.

"So the poor shepherds followed the me all the way to this stable, in the Little Town of Bethlehem." Téa narrated as Tristan led the rest of the shepherds to the stable.

*~From Backstage~*

"Hey you three, you're almost on. Get your gifts ready." the stage manager said.

((cough, cough, cough!!!))

Yami choked and gagged. Poor Yami got stuck with the insense. He waved his hand in the air to try to get rid of the scent.

"Why did *cough* I have to get the insense?" Yami complained.

"Shut up! You guys are on." the stage manager pushed them ahead.

*~Frontstage~*

"Three kings also heard of the Savior who lay In a Tiny Manger and they came over to bring Him gifts." Téa gestured to the three people on their way to the stable.

The first king walked up to the manger and extended his arms, which was holding a fancy gold box. "I bring you the gift of gold." He set it down in front of the crib and bowed.

Then the second king came over and presented his present. "I give you the gift of myrrh." He did the same as the first.

Now it was Yami's turn. The scent was so strong. It was making him dizzy. He walked up to the stable and presented the present. He opened his mouth to say his line, but the words just wouldn't come out. Suddenly the gift was on the floor..........and so was Yami, fainted.

Téa leaned over to check if Yami was okay.

"Aaahh!" Téa cried as she fell off the stable roof and landed on top of Yami.

*~The Audience~*

"Five dollars is gonna be mine. Maybe Friday the Thirteenth isn't so bad." Mokuba whispered confidently.

*~The Show~*

Téa quickly climbed back up onto the stable. "Uh, then a little after that, a little boy came over. He had no present to give, but he did have a drum." At the sound of that, Yugi came into the scene, a drum hanging from his neck and holding a drumstick in each hand.(No, not the food.) He came over to Mai, oh, I mean Mary.

"I have no gift to bring, but I do have this drum. Shall I play it for you?" Yugi asked.

"Sure." Joey stood up, but apparently this stable wasn't made for standing in. "Ow!"

The bump made the rickety stable shake, causing Téa to fall off..........again. TTº Oh, did I mention that she fell on top of Yami..........again. TTº

"Uh, can somebody move him?" Téa laughed nervously. She got up and carefully climbed to the top of the stable. Unfortunately, no one listened to her.

"Uh, sure you could play your drum." Mai nodded.

Yugi began to beat the drum with the drumsticks.

Pa rum pum pum pum

ra pa pum ra pa pum ((thump!))

Yugi gasped. His drumstick had poked a little hole in the drum cover. "Uh..." Joey shrugged his shoulders as a signal to keep going. Not knowing what else to do, he kept playing.

Pa rum pum pum pum

ra pa pum ra pa pum ((crack!))

Yugi whined. Both of his drumsticks snapped and were now too short to use. He looked at Mai nervously. Mai lightly clapped her hands as a signal to use his hands to beat the drum. Yugi nodded and did what she said.

Pa rum pum pum pum

ra pa pum ra pa pum ((boom!))

Yugi whimpered. The drum was completely coverless now and there was no way to play it now.

*~In the Audience~*

"Um......is that supposed to happen?" grampa asked confused.

"It's.......The Curse." Mokuba said, his voice sounding all horror-like and stuff. DON DON DON!!!

*~Back to the Show~*

Seeing no way to play that drum, he just forgot about it and sat down next to the baby.

Then coming from everywhere, the entire cast came out onto the stage. The only way to end the play was to sing Silent Night.

Silent Night

Holy Night

All is calm

All is bright

Round yon virgin

Mother and Child

Holy Infant

So tender and mild

Sleep in heavenly peace

Sleep in heavenly peace.

After singing the entire cast stepped up to the edge of the stage and took a bow.

*~The Audience~*

"Now do you believe me Mokuba? There may have been some screw ups here and there, but there was no trouble with the ending at all. There is no 'Friday the Thirteenth Curse'" Seto said.

*~The Stage~*

The cast took repeated bows. But no one noticed the screws of the background popping out.

((creeeaaak!!!))

((CRASH!!!))

"AAAAHHHHH!!!" the students screamed as they struggled under the large wooden background.

*~The Audience~*

"Say it Seto. You know it's true. It's..........The Curse." Mokuba said slyly.

"Just because the scenery fell on top of them, doesn't mean that there's a curse on the play." Seto explained.

*~The Stage~*

Not only did the scenery fall on them, but the curtains also ripped off their rings and blanketed the students. Not to mention reveal backstage.

*~Audience (at least what's left of it.)~*

Mokuba looked sinisterly at Seto.

"The play's cursed." Seto said, eyes wide.

"Ha! I knew it! Pay up Rebecca!" Mokuba reached out a hand to Rebecca.

Rebecca grunted and unwillingly put five bucks in his hand.
