Last Time:

Closing her eyes, she placed shaky fingers on the hem of Bakura's shorts, and exhaled. Her eyes shot open when she heard a smooth, cool voice.

"What do you think you're doing?"

Oh, shit.

Kesi pulled back to meet the questioning eyes of the thief king. She scrambled backwards. "Um.. I was just cleaning your wounds.." She stuttered.

Bakura smirked and looked down at his chest. "So you were." His eyes flickered to the smashed-in crate and he shook his head in annoyance. "And eventually, you came to your senses and got the crate open."

"Um.. yeah.." Her blue eyes flickered around the room, landing anywhere but on him.

"Bring me more bandages." He ordered.

Kesi rolled her eyes. It was obvious he was used to being obeyed. She went over to the rope with the bandages on it and grabbed the rest. She tossed them at Bakura. "There."

His lips curved upwards into his trademark smirk, for the millionth time since she'd met him. "Now, unless you want to watch, I suggest you take that," he pointed to the pipe. "And go find out what's in the other crates."

Kesi blushed, and grabbed the pipe. She walked over to the other crates and began trying to open them. The first crate she smashed the lid clear off and smiled. `I'm getting better at this.' It contained jewelry and gold. The second crate was just as easy and it contained clothes. She turned around and almost screamed when she discovered Bakura standing behind her, clothed again.

"Good. Now we have clothes."

"W-We can't just take these! They belong to people!"

"Smell them." Kesi did so and wrinkled her nose. They smelled at least 10 years old, if not more. "See?"

"So?"

Bakura growled in annoyance. "You're so slow. If they smell old, they probably are old. No one's going to want them now. They're noble's clothes." On second glance, he added, "Well, most of them. Anyway, nobles are picky. They won't want smelly clothes. Get it now?"

".. Yes.."

"Good. Now take some and change over there." Kesi picked out a long blue dress. Bakura shook his head. "Not that. Take these."

He handed her an outfit similar to the one she was currently wearing, except all in black, and a black cape to go with it. She frowned. "Why these..?"

"Because if someone suddenly sees you, a peasant girl in noble's clothes, then they're going to become suspicious."

"No one notices peasants."

"Is that what you think?" he raised a white eyebrow. "Go change."

Kesi glared at him, and did as he told, changing as quickly as possible. She wasn't that comfortable changing around the top thief in Egypt. After she was done, she yelled back. "Are you done?"

"Yes."

Kesi appeared, carrying her old, bloodstained clothes. "What should I do with these?"

"Burn them."

"In here?"

"Where else?"

"In case you haven't noticed, it's all wood, and there's no openings. We're going to be smoked out."

In the blink of an eye, Bakura reached over and yanked her head upwards. She winced, and then her eyes widened as she saw a hole in the top. "I never saw that before."

Bakura smiled, and then Kesi noticed what he was wearing. Similar to the ones he had on before, he donned a pair of black and blood-red pants. A baggy beige silk top covered the bandages, leaving his arms exposed.

"How come you're wearing noble's clothes?"

"No one will care what I wear. They already know who I am. Everyone does. They would fear me, not attempt to arrest me. Except for the pharaoh, that is." He ignored Kesi's stare. "Anyways, light a fire. We need to get these clothes out of here. We don't want anyone smelling blood."

"But they'll see the smoke." Kesi pointed out.

Apparently Bakura hadn't thought of that. "Shit. You're right."

"So what are we going to do? We have no food!"

"We? When did there become a `we'?"

"We're stuck in here together, right?"

"There is no `we', woman. I don't give a shit what happens to you." Kesi glared at him. "What else did you find?"

"Jewelry."

Bakura's eyes lit up and he walked over, despite his injuries. "Wonderful!"

"Why..?"

"This will sell for a pretty penny on the streets!"

Kesi gave him a blank stare. "We're not on the streets."

"Soon I will be." He said, emphasizing the `I'.

"And what about me?"

"I told you before, woman! I don't care what happens to you! Just as long as I don't get killed!"

"Why are you a thief, anyway?"

Bakura's expression turned sad. He said nothing, and Kesi shifted slightly, not liking the awkward tension in the air. She sighed. "Forget it. Sorry I asked."

"It's a long story.."

"In case you haven't noticed, I've got all the time in the world right now."
