Last Time:
Bakura blushed uncharacteristically when she snuggled into his chest, mumbling something incoherent. Oh well. At least she had stopped shivering. He walked into the small bedroom, and dumped her on the bed, careful not to wake her up.
As soon as he let go of her, she curled up again and started shivering. He sighed, and pushed her over to the other side of the huge bed that took up most of the bedroom. He slid in the other side, and she stopped shivering. He rolled his eyes. `Wierd.' Bakura turned over, facing the wall, and drifted into the welcoming arms of sleep.
---------------
Kesi opened her eyes. The sleep-induced blur that had appeared on everything had started to disappear. She sat up and then realized she was in a bed. Kesi frowned. `But I went to sleep on the couch..' She looked over to see Bakura sleeping, facing towards her. `He must have put me here..' She smiled faintly.
Kesi got up; smoothing out her rumpled clothes, and walked into the kitchen. She walked over to the bowl on the small table and grabbed a piece of fruit. Her stomach rumbled and she realized that she hadn't eaten in a while.
Kesi sat down on the small chair in front of the window. It was light out, the sun was high in the sky and she guessed it must have been about noon or so. Kesi finished her fruit and walked outside to the horses. The black one she saw yesterday opened its eyes when it sensed her walking towards it.
“Heya..” Kesi smiled cautiously.
She had always been afraid of big animals, and even though this one seemed to like her, she was still a bit cautious. Kesi reached her hand out towards its nose and flinched slightly when the horse snorted. She kept her hand there, and the horse eyed her with an almost comical look in its eye.
The horse's nose came down towards her hand, and it sniffed it carefully, and then nudged it. Kesi laughed, relieved. “Here.”
She handed it a small bit of the fruit she had earlier. It took it delicately and proceeded to chop it up into small bits before swallowing it. Kesi walked closer to it, now standing right beside its head. The horse gave her another look and then nosed her shoulder. Kesi smiled. “I don't have anything else.”
She patted the horse's head apologetically. Suddenly, the horse snorted and turned towards the window. Kesi flinched a bit, surprised. The horse looked back at her. “What is it, girl?”
Kesi climbed on top of one of the crates and looked out the window. She could just make out a small dust storm coming towards them. She squinted, and then her eyes widened as she recognized the figure atop the horse. `The pharaoh!'
Kesi jumped off the crate, and dashed out the door to the stables, not bothering to close it. She burst inside the house. “Bakura! Marik!”
She ran into the bedroom and shook the still sleeping Bakura's arms frantically. “Wake. UP!”
Kesi gave him one final shake and his eyes opened. “What..?” Bakura asked, sitting up.
She ran out of the room and he followed, still drugged from sleep. Kesi dashed into Marik's room and proceeded to shake him as well. Bakura came up beside her. “What's going on?”
“Look out the window!” Kesi's heart beat faster.
Marik opened his eyes and Bakura looked out the window. His eyes widened. “Shit! It's the Pharaoh!” He squinted. “And a miniature army!”
Marik sat up suddenly, millimeters away from bashing Kesi in the head. “What?!” Marik tumbled out of bed and stood up. “Dammit! Kesi, get the horses!”
Kesi rushed out the window. Bakura grabbed as many expensive-looking items that he could, Marik copying his actions. They ran outside to meet Kesi, standing with the black horse, and the other dark brown one that Marik owned.
“Get ON, Kesi!” Bakura practically tossed her onto the horse and jumped on behind her.
Marik jumped onto his own horse and gave it a sharp kick. Both horses took off at breakneck speed. If Bakura hadn't been sitting behind Kesi, she would have fallen off. It was a miracle Bakura was still sitting on the horse.
Dust flew up behind them as the horses desperately raced for safety. A spear whizzed by Bakura's head and he turned around to look. Kesi bowed her head, squeezed her eyes shut and made herself as small as possible. A cry came from behind them, and Kesi felt Bakura shift forwards again.
They were almost at her village now. When they got there, Bakura jumped off the horse and started weaving through the crowd, leading the horse with Kesi on it. Kesi looked back and saw the army stopped at the front gates. Marik was beside her, still on his horse.
“They're stopped for now. Let's go, Bakura.”
“Right.”
“What do they want?” Kesi asked, still nervous.
“Who knows? They always want something from us.” Bakura said, his steps not hesitating.
Kesi paused and then spoke. “Where are we going?”
“To my house.”
Kesi frowned. “Where is it?”
“Just up ahead.”
Bakura led the horse into a small house. The house was basically a shack, with two beds, chairs and a table. Some cupboards lined the small, seven-meter wall beside the beds. It was a common house, easily blending in with the others. No one would think to look for them there. At least, Kesi hoped not.

AN: Yeh.. *faints* Erm, I got majorly sidetracked. That's about all I can say. And then a week ago, I had written a kick-ass chapter (this one) and then when I closed it, I forgot to save. >.> So I had to re-write the whole thing. Don't ask. So thanks for staying with me, and I'll update as soon as I can.
