The road stretched out long and dark before him, the roaring engine beneath him was bliss against the dark and Yugi drove without intention along the highway.

It wasn't often that there were nights like this, most people feared vampire biker gangs on nights like this. That was why it was so quiet, so derelict, even the street lights glows seemed to huddle into smaller pools of light. Yugi had never run into a vampire biker gang, so the idea that there was such a thing was too unreal for him, abstract, because it was too far out to grasp.

He rolled to the side as he passed a bend, the first set of traffic lights he had seen all night changing to green; another bike sped onto the same route.

Yugi smiled despite himself, it was always good to ride, but when there was the opportunity to go faster than another rider; that was just as good if not better.

Yugi took a quick glance at the other bike.

A new model Ninja. He liked it, he liked it a lot he hadn't tested The millennium Puzzle against the new model of Ninja's yet.

Revving his engine in that wonderfully ego-silly way, he pressed the accelerator just a bit more.

His bike sped up.

There was a moment in which he was in the lead, before the other bike suddenly sped up too roaring it's challenge to his ears.

The race begun. The other rider was a complete mask, unable to tell whether the rider was a male or female or even human for that matter, but as they veered around a sharp corner Yugi realized the rider was a good one.

For a moment Yugi would lead, and then the Ninja would take control. Then Yugi would be back in the hot seat and press into his speed.

They had already gone well over the speed limit, but all that mattered for the moment in either world was being faster.

Then the Ninja was in the lead and it made a sharp left. Yugi followed smoothly, not even breaking a sweat as he kept up and soon regained the lead. He was chuckling to himself, enjoying the thrill of the ride.

The two bikes sped past the town clock and Yugi glanced upward, it was already twelve. He pressed the gas pedal down harder and shifted in his seat. He wasn't tired; usually he didn't sleep until three in the morning; maybe it had something to do with being paranoid of being attacked in his sleep by horny southerner vampires. Maybe it was because he had insomnia. He functioned well on very little sleep, he didn't have many options open on that side of thing.

The roar of bike engines seemed to get louder and it snapped the human out of his fun, Yugi glanced behind him. There were around six bikes following him and the Ninja and the bikes all had vampires on them. Well, Yugi was pretty sure the figures were vampires, what, with little clothing, pale skin exposed to the night and swinging chains and shooting off guns. Beside the fact that no human biker gangs would be stupid enough to ride with the fear of vampire biker gangs.

Yugi swallowed hard and pressed on the gas pedal, okay, so he'd been wrong about there no being any vampire biker gangs. He wasn't perfect, but he was a fast learner.

The Ninja's rider had also turned around to view what the extra roar was and for a moment Yugi thought he saw himself when the two of them met each other's gaze. It was always hard to tell if you had someone's gaze though, especially when both helmets showed no view of any facial features.

Both of their bikes sped up and the Ninja took the lead again making a sharp left before hitting a round about. Yugi followed smoothly; well aware of the shouts and the whistles over the engine hum that followed them.

They raced down a long stretch of street and Yugi could see the Ninja's rider turn again, to make sure they weren't being followed. The biker gang was still on their tail and actually closing in.

Yugi pushed down harder and took the lead, swerving to his right. The Ninja overtook him on the next stretch and it was as if the rider were trying to tell him to follow his lead.

Yugi looked behind them again and accelerated to match. The Ninja rider glanced at him briefly before concentrating again.

Yugi shifted in his seat as he saw some sparks flare behind him. The boy looked into his rear view mirror and gasped. One of the chains smacked against the pavement mere inches behind him.

Okay, time to lose the problem, he thought as bravely as possible, he veered away at the next turn and sped up a ramp, turning at the over highway.

The biker gang seemed to split in two and two bikes followed him up.

He knew there was no hope at felling the riders, vampires were adapt at everything they did, and were probably better riders then he but he thought maybe he could out run them, the kind of outrun that involved going till morning and cackling when the bloodsuckers burnt in the sunlight.

He heard the wind whistling past him and a shrill cracking sound; that of metal clanging against metal. He looked in the rear view mirror but couldn't discern anything. There was only the roar of the bikes before his bike gave a shuddering jerk beneath him and Yugi let out a yelp as the machine began to fall to one side. Yugi let himself be thrust forward from his seat and actually jumped.

He was airborne for a moment before his athletics skills kicked in and he curled himself into a ball. Seconds later he hit the ground with his shins his jeans absorbed enough of the impact that he only felt the stabbing pain and crunch as he impacted. The cement pressed against him and his helmet scraped painfully, but he stopped moving after rolling onto his back.

Yugi let himself take a deep breath before he stood and turned back to his bike. The machine was lying on its side; the back wheel had a chain wrapped around it. The little human swallowed as the two big vampire's bikes rolled closer, neither vampire wore helmets and he could see their glowing blue eyes like eerie beacons in the dark. The human resorted to his only riding defense and pulled his helmet off, his tricoloured hair flicked back into place. Yugi reached inside the material and brought out a piece of chalk. He fell to his knees, well aware that he didn't have much time. The human drew an arc in front of him with the chalk on the gravel.

The sound of heavy footfalls reached him and he squeezed his eyes closed. Not to high above the rush of his own blood in his ears he could hear the sound of gunfire and screams. Or he was hallucinating. He couldn't decide which was better.

There was a scream right in front of him and he opened his violet orbs to watch the chalk drawn arc flare to life like unholy hell.

"Don't you idiots know anything about blessed items?" Yugi let himself snicker. Actually it was the first time he'd ever tried the chalk, and if it hadn't of worked he would have been in deep shit, but it had so he felt he deserved to be smug about it.

The fire died down and one of the vampires rolled away on fire, trying to put the holy flames out. Yugi frowned, weren't ther-

An icy hand grabbed him around the neck and he was suddenly flung into the air. His violet eyes widened before he hit the metal road railing with his back. All the air in his lungs hissed out of him and he fell to the ground in a winded heap.

He coughed and wheezed, trying to restore air into his suddenly burning lungs.

"Lot of good that shit did you. That stuff only works against fledglings. I'm fifty, and you're dead." The old biker laughed roughly. Yugi could tell he had been a smoker when he'd been alive.

Yugi wheezed again as he was picked up by the throat. His feet dangled off the ground and his hands scrambled at the single hand that held him aloft. His face was already turning purple from the lack of air.

There was a blur of movement behind the vampire before Yugi felt himself drop to the ground quite suddenly. The sound of a gun going off alerted him, but all he could do was lay on his side an attempt to regain a normal amount of breathing air. Listening to the gun fire twice more. There was a hissing sound before dust blowing everywhere made him realize the vampire was dead. Was the Ninja rider his savior? What kind of person carried a gun around and was strong enough to shove a vampire off someone else?

"Tch. Only an idiot splits away from a group when a gang is on their tail, especially a vampire gang. You may ride well, but vampires are in a league of their ow-" A thick Egyptian accented voice spoke to him before breaking off in stunned silence.

Yugi finally got air in and took deep breathes before looking up at his savior.

It was like staring in a mirror, staring in harsh reality mirror no less.

The man was almost identical to Yugi, save that they were dressed in different clothing and one was taller and looked more out of townish. Yugi's mirror was dressed in a black turtle neck sleeveless top a leather jacket was wrapped around the man's waist and his black jeans were tight fit. He also looked as if he was wearing eyeliner but Yugi realized he wasn't, his eyes were just that deep plum color. In one hand the mirror loosely held a gun and his upper arm was bleeding as if someone had scratched it. His hair was the same tricoloured spikes that Yugi's was. But he looked slightly older than the boy.

Yugi realized he was staring and quickly blinked. Almost in a daze Yugi reached out and poked the mirror image of himself in the knee. Hard.

"Ow." The image said again, voice heavy with Egyptian accent.

"Gomen. But… it's just… are you for real?" Yugi asked. He felt as if he were talking to himself.

His mirror image bent down and boinked him on the nose. Yugi scrunched his face up.

"I'm about as real as you. Wow… I've never seen someone so… so…"

"Eerily the same?" Yugi put forth in amazement.

The mirror snorted in a chuckle and nodded. "Yeah… wow." Then he frowned. "That still doesn't mean you've got much sense! I mean, honestly, you just separated yourself and argg! You could have gotten yourself killed, kid."

Yugi frowned. "Kid? Excuse me, but my name is Motouh Yugi. You didn't have to help me you know."

He blinked as his hand was suddenly clasped and he was pulled to his feet. His mirror smiled. "Nice to meet you Yugi. I'm Yami, and it's no problem. We nice bikers gotta stick together." And he winked.

Yugi blinked softly before laughing. "Arigato. Mr.Yami… hey, what happened to the vamps that trailed you?"

Yami winked. "My bike's back lights have high beams, and just call me Yami; I'm not a business man or anything."

Yugi laughed. "Serves those bloodsuckers right. Okay, Yami it is." He rotated his shoulders before walking over to retrieve his helmet and blessed chalk. Slipping the chalk back into the little compartment of his helmet before slipping it on. He could that the comment about high beam tail lights was a lie, he'd definitely heard the screams, but whatever Yami did to get off was his business. Personally Yugi wouldn't take on five vampires with just one gun, even if that gun was a .11 Glock, but then personally Yugi wouldn't take on vampires with anything less them a semi automatic and a flame thrower. Yugi glanced respectfully at Yami, was this his very first vampire slayer? It could be all too possible; this seemed to be quickly becoming a night of firsts. Another biker out on a bad night, a vampire gang, a twin that he was sure wasn't related to him.

Yami chuckled. "So, tell me, Yugi-kun, would you like to get some dinner with me? I know this great little diner not to far from here." Yami slipped his own helmet on as he spoke.

Yugi flipped his visor up and smiled. "Sure. Sounds like a plan. But you do realize its midnight?" Never mind that there was still a burning, yet blissfully dead vampire corpse near them, and a pile of ash where the other vampire had met the lead bullets from Yami's guns. Sometimes Yugi liked to distract himself from bizarre situations by putting himself in normal ones.

Yami blinked and checked a wrist watch, clicking the safety of his gun on and slipping it into some unseen holster. "Well so it is. Hmm, there's a dance club not to far from here, they serve good fries."

Yugi blinked. "Actually Pagan's Circle is around this part of town somewhere. We can go there. Vampires can't get in because of all the warding. Well, that's just been proven untrue actually… but all the big fry vamps don't bother the club. Probably all the sensitives and stuff."

Yami nodded. "Sure. I've been there before. Some wicked shops around there."

They smiled at each other and Yugi could feel his gut making a pulling sensation, either it was lust or hunger. Or maybe he thought it was both. He didn't feel all that uneasy, which was odd, usually he'd feel pretty freaked after what he'd just seen, even more so to be staring at… himself.

"So, are you a wizard or something?" Yami asked as they walked over to Yugi's poor bike. Yugi pulled the chain off as he answered. "No, I just hang out with the crowd. It's pretty safe on nights like this." Yami nodded and together they pushed the machine up. There wasn't much damage, just a few scratches and maybe a spoke or two that would need fixing.

"So, I have to ask, what model is this? You ride it like a Ninja, but it's bigger than mine and your mirrors are smaller than the standard should be. Not to mention it looks nothing like any bike I've ever seen." Yami asked.

Yugi shrugged, he liked to talk shop about his baby bike. "Actually no one knows what kind of bike this is, I'm found of calling it the millennium puzzle. It was a gift from my grandpa."

Yami laughed. "You must have pretty tight family."

Yugi shook his head and walked his bike with him and Yami as they went for the out of towner's bike. "Not really. My parent's were murdered and grandpa is all I have left."

Yami hissed. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-"

Yugi shook his head and gave Yami a small smile. "Naw, it's cool, I killed the thing that murdered them."

"Oh, maybe we shouldn't talk about this then…"

Yugi nodded. "Yeah, I guess. So, uhh, you don't sound like you're from Tokyo."

Yami nodded. "You're right. I'm not. I just moved here from Egypt. I was learning Japanese in school over there and I thought it was kind of pointless to learn a language and never use it. So, I finished Uni last year and moved here."

"Wow, really? You don't look Egyptian. Do you have a job? What did your parent's say?"

"I know, but I'm born and bred Egyptian. I even have pharaoh tie ins. Hmm, well I'm currently working with a motor bike manufacturer, I'm their market advertising director and my parent's didn't really say much. We were never very close."

Yugi made a groan of awe. "That is really awesome! Sounds like you've got a pretty awesome life."

"What about you, you look too young to be out of high school, but I get the idea you're a bit older than that, I mean, you wouldn't be riding without a license these days."

Yugi chuckled. "Well, you're right I'm not out of high school, but I've completed eight years of University and I have a major in Journalism and Teaching and a minor in Psychology."

Yami blinked. "You're a teacher?"

Yugi laughed. "Yes, and that's what all the students say too."

"Awesome. What do you teach?"

"English. We're currently doing essay writing."

"Tch that sounds like a blast. But, if it's not to strange, what's a high school teacher doing out on the streets on a motor bike at twelve at night?"

Yugi sweat dropped. "Actually I was heading home until…" He paused, he really didn't feel like spilling the fact that he had his own personal vampire stalker, it was too embarrassing, but then again, may as well tell Yami, it would make interesting conversation, that and it was good to be talking to a human so late at night.

"Well, it's a bit complicated. So, I'll tell you when we hit the club."

Yami smirked. "Sure." His voice held something akin to understanding, and Yugi wondered briefly if the dark vampire slayer were psychic. That could be uncomfortable.
