Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ The Exfoilation of Perenial Beings ❯ Chapter six ( Chapter 6 )
~ ~ ~
Yugi was wearing a leather trench coat. And it wasn't for the show.
His calves had a set of six inch blessed knives in sheaths strapped to the outside; the pants had rips in them for easy access. On either hip he had a gun, one was a 10 mm Firestar, the other was a 9mm Glock. Under the trench coat was a strap over his shoulder that was attached to a semi automatic mini machine gun. Against his back was a 15 inch long blessed blade. His wrists had bracelets with holy water in them strapped across. In the pockets either side of his trench coat were full clips of ammo, including a spare inside his back pants pocket though if something were surviving a round of garlic and holy water exploding bullets right through the chest or head, Yugi would be in too much deep shit to need the extra ammo. Under the trench coat he wore a blue tank top.
All the safety buttons were clicked.
Paranoia was an interesting concept.
The trench coat was not for show. The trench coat was to hide the show.
Beside him Jou was readjusting his hold on his semi automatic. It was always scary when someone four foot something had a big gun and knew how to use it.
"We ready?" Yugi asked.
The sun had died over an hour ago and the sky was dark and pale, and foreboding.
Jou nodded. "Bakura owes me an assignment."
Yugi grimaced and nodded.
They took Jou's car.
~
The Pits was the most non-human night club anywhere. People went missing nightly. It was only a hot spot because of stupid tourists and their need to get close to danger. Yugi had called ahead and said that he was going there to bargain for Clanne members. The receptionist had thought he was a member of the Clanne and had gotten all egotistical. Yugi had yelled at her a bit before hanging up after confirming that he would be received by the ones who wanted the Clanne.
Outside the pits was surrounded by harsh thick gravel, which dug into your feet as you walked across it. The complex had a hallway, with a neat little reception desk and then it was simply an open lot filled with people and harsh, loud music. The gravel in the 'club' had been pounded down to a thin grey dust.
The smell of sweat, heat, drugs and blood assaulted Yugi as he got out of Jou's car. Jou scrunched up his nose. "God, it reeks here…"
The two of them looked around.
It was quiet. And as the saying went, too quiet.
"Why can't I hear any music?" Yugi asked.
"Or people…" Jou said.
They swallowed collectively.
"I don't like this Yugi-kun."
"I don't either. But Bakura needs to finish his essay."
Jou nodded.
"C'mon, let's go and find out what's going on." And what our trap is, Yugi's little voice added as an after thought.
Jou swallowed, small fingers straying to his gun in a comfort motion.
Yugi fingered his bracelet as they walked. His gut did little flip fops as every single warning sense he possessed rang inside his skull. It was just mildly distracting.
As they neared the entrance Yugi thought he could hear voices, like murmurs, but the sound may have as well been the wind for any discerning he could make. There was a sign written in very chaotic evil red pen on the receptionists little window.
"Ohh, we're being 'awaited'." Jou said, reading the kanji with a grin.
"It's a pity that's not actually blood. Then we could run in and kill people." Yugi sighed ruefully. No, he did not have blood lust. Well, maybe a little…
They grinned at each other and Yugi flicked the safety off his Firestar.
Their feet crunched on the gravel as they walked through the hallway, heading infinitely for the open lot.
The open lot was dark, but the full moon illuminated everything. And everything being seen was not fun.
There were close to twenty vampires in the lot. Yugi fretted that there would be more that he couldn't see.
Two vampires were wearing white scarves, the rest were all in black, all in the shadows.
Jou shook his head.
"We come for teddies and puppies and we get zombies." A great many red pairs of eyes turned to Jou, all with equal glares. The Elf didn't seem to notice.
"You are not Clanne members." One of the white scarves vampires said. It was a woman, in her late twenties before death and with enough bosom to knock an eye out.
Yugi felt himself suppress a smirk.
"Of course not. The Clanne are not stupid enough to send their own after their own."
"You smell of fear, human."
Yugi shrugged. "You smell like snakes, and I'm quite outnumbered."
Red eyes flickered, unsure of what he was doing. Truth echoed behind Yugi's words. It was confusing for the vampires
"What business do you have with us?" Her voice was a hiss, not dead long enough to truly stop the hissing between her canines.
Yugi shrugged. "The same businesses the Clanne do." He let his violet eyes blink as he stared into the red orbs.
Collectively the vampires seemed to realize that he was not affected by their mind attacks. There was a murmur, again, like the wind, impossible to truly hear.
Yugi shivered, mass telepathy. Vamps were creepy as all hell.
"Who are you?" The female asked.
Yugi raised an eyebrow. "You want the proof first?"
"Proof?"
He couldn't help but smirk. "Trust me vamp, you're not going to like me."
Jou made a tense movement at his back and Yugi knew that the vampires around them were circling. Shit.
"You want the Clanne we have; you will have to have a very good bargaining chip."
Jou snorted and interrupted her. "You ever taught high school, bitch?"
Red eyes flickered angrily to the Elf. "No."
Jou's hands were caressing his semi automatic. "Well, we won't set the monsters on you, and you'll give us back our students, but then… you've probably never seen six vamps get cut in half with a semi, have you?"
The anger in the room was rising.
"WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU?" The female vampire screamed. The other white scarf was watching Yugi and Jou, green eyes flicking between the two of them cautiously, as if he couldn't figure out which was the bigger problem.
"No need to lose your cool, vamp. Like I said before, you won't like it. So, you can survive, and brag that you did to whoever you're working for, by giving back the Clanne members. Orr…" Yugi cracked his neck, bringing his Firestar out and pointing it at her head in one smooth motion.
"We can kill you all now, and take our friends back." Jou finished, clicking his semi at the vampires on his side.
The female vampire laughed suddenly obviously not afraid in the least. "Ohh, a human and a gnome. What, were you the last option the Clanne had open? They must be really getting weak."
Yugi shrugged. "No, we're the last option you had opened."
He pulled the trigger.
Everyone froze as vampire brains sprayed everywhere. Splattering the second white scarf a gross red and grey. The corpse fell backwards. One of the vampires said 'shit' before Jou began firing.
Yugi fired with one hand, aiming for anything that moved with the Firestar while his other hand brought out the Glock. Screams flew through the night orders to get the guns out of their reach. The Firestar clicked empty and Yugi dropped it, reaching behind his back as he calmly shot with the Glock in his left hand. Violet eyes watching any movement he could. Blood was already leaking close to his feet. A black shadow launched at him from the side and Yugi knew he couldn't bring the gun around fast enough. As the vampire hit him, the Glock fell from his hands and the two figures went flying to one side, Yugi drew one of his blades and thrust it just under the ribs of the vampire, driving it to the hit and pulling upward while he ignored the claws that sliced at his chest. They hit the gravel and the machine gun crushed into Yugi's back. The vampire was already limp. Yugi groaned and rolled away. Pulling the mini machine gun out as he came up, Jou was behind him, which meant he was safe to pull the safety off.
The ground was strained red and as Yugi came up, ignoring the way his back protested and searing pain shot through his spine he noticed the dull silence.
Jou was breathing heavily, reloading his semi. The only vampire left standing was the second scarf wearer.
"I hate it… when someone calls me a gnome…" Jou said, blood smeared his face and one arm was hanging limp at his side, blood trailing from his collar bone. Nothing stirred.
Yugi pointed his gun at the remaining vampire. "Now. Where are the Clanne?" he smiled politely.
~
Jou's car rolled away, still packed full of shifters, all in varying stages of animal form. Although the massacre had been a success, Yugi didn't feel any less worried.
It was like the vampires had been set up.
Yugi didn't like getting dragged into vampire mind games, but he had a sinking feeling he'd done someone a big favor somewhere. Whether this favor would be in his own interests was another story.
There was a motorcycle in his driveway and Yugi recognized it instantly.
The nights were just getting too packed.
He whimpered as he walked, pain shooting through every limb. He really didn't feel so good, but he'd remained silent about his injures in the car, some of the shifters were probably worse off. Besides, he'd volunteered.
Yami was leaning against Yugi's front door, plum eyes watching him as he came up the single step.
The vampire slayer was dressed in a black shimmer top and jeans, he looked like he'd either just come from a club, or was going to one. Yami looked good.
Yugi didn't feel too good and he imagined the blood made him not look to good.
"Yo." Yami said as Yugi approached.
"Konnichiwa Yami-kun. You're not petitioning for my new stalker are you?" Yugi asked wearily, trying not to show the great amount of pain he was in.
Yami chuckled, standing back from the door. "Well… I hear you're booked on the stalking side, but I was expecting a call today."
Yugi nodded. "I didn't have time..." He hissed; arm muscles contracting violently as he reached for the door. Pain was lapping through his spinal muscles in waves. And he doubled over
Yami looked alert. "Yugi…"
"It's nothing… fuck." He whimpered, not able to stand straight again because of the pain from the scratches on his chest.
"You're not looking too good." Cool fingers took the keys from Yugi's hands and before the petit boy could protest he was swept up into Yami's arms. The movement of his spine caused him to shudder as his muscles ached painfully. Yugi bit his lip to keep from crying out.
Yami opened the door and walked in, setting Yugi on the couch. "Jesus, what the hell did you do? Godzilla is a bit too big for a piggy back ride."
Yugi crossed his arms a faint smirk on his lips, the soft cushions easing the pain. "I went on a massacre."
Yami paused, a kitchen drawer half open. "Eh?"
Yugi held back soft laughter, his chest hurt too much to laugh anyway. "Some bastard kidnapped a bunch of shape shifters."
Yami turned back to Yugi, first aid kit in one hand. "So, why should you bother with something like that?"
Yugi sighed. "It was a vampire and one of the shifters is a student of mine."
Yami raised an eyebrow, and for a moment Yugi thought he saw something dangerous cross Yami's face before it was gone. "You massacred vampires because of something like that? Why didn't you try bargaining?"
Yugi wheezed softly, pain filtering into what was meant to be a chuckle. "Yami, like I said before, all vampires are trouble. I tried negotiating. It didn't work."
Yami knelt next to him, stripping off the coat and taking Yugi's mini machine gun off his shoulder.
"Kami-sama. Yugi, you went in there with a machine gun on your back?"
Yugi wheezed laughter again. "Two six inches, a 15 inch down my back, a Firestar and Glock and a blessed bracelet. Yeah, the only thing that lived after we started firing was very still."
Yami's eyes held something akin to appraisal. "Tch. Yugi-kun, you must have an interesting definition of suicidal."
Yugi blinked. "What's that supposed to mean?"
Yami was removing his weapons piece by piece, while Yugi tried not to let his arms spasm and twitch under the movements. Yami changed the subject. "You seem to have bruised some muscles on your back; do you know what might have caused this?"
Yugi blinked. "Probably when I ran out of bullets."
Yami raised another eyebrow. "When you ran out of bullets?"
Yugi had the grace to blush. At least Yami wasn't disgusted with him. "I was firing one handed, a gun a piece. I ran out of bullets in one and a vamp jumped me."
Yami was taking off Yugi's shoes. He looked up the boy's body. "Jesus. I can't believe you, you went hand to hand?" Yugi nodded softly. "Shit, after what happened yesterday night! What do you think you are? You don't have continuous energy Yugi! With the amount of sleep you get, it's a wonder you can even function each day. Let alone go out and do this kind of shit to your body!"
Yugi whimpered and tried sinking into the couch. Yami's plum eyes were boring into him, he felt like a little child.
"It's part of my job!" He said meekly.
Yami huffed and took Yugi's shirt off, none to gently. Yugi gasped, blood leaking from the scratch wounds. Yami gazed at the cuts, momentarily shocked.
"Kami…"
"It's not as bad as it looks."
"I'd hope so, it looks fucking awful."
Yugi winced as Yami opened the first aid kit and brought out a swath of antiseptic.
Yami's disapproving frown made him want to hide. "Do you want me to tell you how much this is gonna sting? Or shall I pretend you'll be fine?"
Yugi sighed. He was getting bored of being scolded. "Look, I can handle myself, Yami-kun. I appreciate your concern, but really, if you'd rather leave, that's fine."
Yami sighed and smiled, leaning forward and brushing Yugi's hair from his face before kissing him softly.
Yugi sighed into the kiss, letting Yami's mouth gently probe his own…
"Ow! Fuck that was sneaky!" He pulled back, jumping as the antiseptic made contact with the wound. It stung like a son of a bitch.
Yami smirked evilly. "Mm, I feel better now."
Yugi sighed. Okay, so maybe he was a bit emotionally challenged when he was in pain.
Yami finished cleaning the wound, and produced a bandage, wrapping around Yugi's midriff and pretty much most of his chest firmly. Yugi could feel the firm bandages across his ribcage and back. He moved his arm, feeling pain but having control of the movement.
"Domo arigato Yami-kun." Yugi whispered, sinking into the sofa a little more blissfully, now all he needed were some pain killers and some sleep and he'd feel a lot better.
Yami smiled shyly. "Now all you need is some rest and pain relief. And I know the perfect way that doesn't involve drugs."
Yugi sighed softly as he was lifted again. "That doesn't involve drugs? You're not trying to take away God's gift to humans are you?"
"God's gift to humans?"
"Aspirin you drug thief you."
"Ahh but of course. The human body shouldn't need outside substances to relieve pain."
"A morning, naturalist, vampire slayer, is my new stalker? Wow, I must have a curse. I only get the weird ones."
Yami chuckled as he settled Yugi down on the boy's bed, rolling him over onto his stomach and giving the boy a pillow to put under his head.
"You're not so normal yourself, Yugi-kun."
The position forced Yugi's back to stretch. This hurt a lot.
"Itai! Yami-kun, I'm sore." Yugi complained, trying somewhat unsuccessfully to wiggle around.
Yami hushed him and began massaging Yugi's shoulders. Talented fingers finding every nerve and stroking it pleasurably.
Yugi moaned and turned into mush, relaxing under those talented, skillful fingers.
Yami's palms pressed down and along his muscles, firming and flattening. The ball of Yami's thumb stroking in small sharp circles, easing all thought and quite a few different moans from Yugi.
"Your life is fascinating, Yugi-kun, but you should try to stay alive for it." Yami murmured, pattering his splayed hands down Yugi's sore back, palms smoothing over the bandaged areas. Yugi cooed and moaned, whimpering when painful nerves were hit.
Yami continued for a while before running his hands along Yugi's body and helping the boy roll over. Yugi was mush, the lazy smile and warm body curling against Yami was proof of that. "Mmm, arigatoooo." Yugi giggled.
Yami smiled, petting Yugi. "Sleep now."
Yugi found himself already drifting off to the land of dreams, muscles heavy but relaxed. Yami stroked his face until everything disappeared and Yugi floated in a pleasant sensation.
