The tablet now lay still, and the millennium items began to glow, suddenly dispersed into the air. After the items are gone, the ground shakes and the floor beneath the tablet begins to crumble, taking the tablet into a dark oblivion. Yami flees, looking for Ryou and Anzu.

"Ryou! Anzu" He calls out to them desperately.

 

"over here!" calls Anzu, Ryou and Anzu come down from their hiding place and come over to Yami, Anzu smiles in some relief seeing Yami safe.

 

Yami smiles back, blushing a bit. "Come on! We've gotta get out of here!" He takes Anzu's hand and runs through the crumbling castle. Pillars fall and shatter before their eyes and the floors behind them start collapsing.

Ryou screams like a girl as he's almost squashed under a falling piece of rubble. They come to a room where the floor is literally split in two, a huge crack taking up the majority of the room. Yami takes a huge leap and jumps right over the crack, Anzu right behind him. He looks back and sees Ryou trembling a bit at the idea.

"Come on, Ryou! Jump! It's your only chance!" Ryou hesitates, then closes his eyes and jump. "No, don' close your eyes!!" Too late. Ryou just barely makes it to the other side, now hanging onto the ledge of the crack. Yami and Anzu both help him up and then continue running.

They come to the sewer of the castle. A boat sits in the water awaiting them.

 

"You guys look!" Anzu says, pointing out the boat, the three quickly run to the boat and get inside.

 

Yami throws a pole to Ryou saying, "Your job, Ryou!" Ryou catches the pole and quickly starts pushing on the ground in order to move the boat. The boat refuses to budge.

"Yami, push the boat!" He says. Yami jumps out of the boat and begins to push the boat. After a few shoves, the boat moves and begins to finally move down the sewage pipe.

"Yami! Get back in!" Ryou says as the ceiling begins to crumble. Ryou pulls Yami back in just as the ceiling crashes down into the river of sewage, shoving the boat down the small, cave-like exit.

The huge wave of water flushes them out of the castle and capsizes their boat. All three of them break the water's surface, grabbing onto the boat to stay afloat. They look up just in time to see the castle crumble and then explode into a million pieces. The towers crumble and the rubble sinks into the bubbling water. Ryou smirks slightly.

"Guess the harp can lie." He then raises an eyebrow quizzically. "Wait ... Then what about all of those other times ...?"

"Oh, shut up and help me turn the boat back over!" Yami says, crabby from his exhaustion.

 

Anzu puts a hand on Yami's shoulder, "You did great Yami...” she looks to Ryou as well, "you did too...” she mumbles lowly, "although you didn't do much...”

out of the empty sky the three see Marik flying away on a gwythaint, laughing madly out of joy that the Thief King cannot punish him. It seems Marik had managed to free a gwythaint, using it as his escape method. They fly away never to be seen again.

 

The trio makes it to shore safely. Yami is the first to get up onto shore, where he then sits down on the ground, sadness filling his eyes. Ryou helps Anzu onto shore, looking over at Yami. Suddenly, dark clouds fill the sky and familiar loud laughter fills the air. Within the clouds the three witches'' looked down upon the three.

"Oh, why is the poor child sad?" Mai ask, sticking her bottom lip out slightly.

"Yeah, we give them what they want and they're still not happy!" Vivian criticized, crinkling her nose slightly.

 

Anzu looks to the shore and sees the millennium eye wash up on shore, she goes over and picks it up, she shines it off and goes back to her spot, she mumbles "good for nothing eye...”

 

Yami looked up at the sky, too tired to deal with the witch's crap. "What do you want?"

"Yeah! What do you want?" Ryou says, trying to act brave, feeling recharged after their escape.

"Oh, we have business with your little hero." Mai says with a smirk, making Ryou step back a bit in fear.

"Hero? I wasn't the hero! Jounouchi was!" Yami said, getting angry.

"The only thing that mattered to you was the eye. But now it's of no use to you. So we'll just take it, and be on our way!" Mai said cheerfully. She snapped her fingers and the eye began to float up into the air towards the witches.

""WAIT!" The eye stops at Ryou's command. "We never just give things away. How about we trade? You know, bargain?" Ryou says with a smirk.

"Ooh! I just adore a voiceful man!" Cecelia says, batting her eyelashes lovingly.

"Oh, pull yourself together! Now, come on! You know what we want." Ryou says, hands on his hips. Mai's eyes widen.

"No! Not the --"

"We'll give it to you!" Vivian quickly says, the sword appearing in front of Yami. The teen begins to reach out for it, but then withdraws his hands, looking downward.

"No ... I don't want the sword ...." He says quietly.

"Then we'll take it back!" Mai says quickly, zipping the sword back into their possession.

"But I do want to trade!" Yami quickly adds. Mai sighs.

"What could you possibly trade!?" She asks, scoffing.

"Jou for the eye." He says. All three witches laugh.

"That's not possible!" Cecelia says.

"I knew it!" Ryou said, thinking quickly. "You witches don't have any real power! Admit it!"

 

All three witches are greatly offended by this, gasping and letting out scoffs of astonishment at Ryou's comment. They then disappear into a whirl wind. The eye in Anzu's hand began to glow and became extremely hot.

 

"Ow!" Anzu yells and drops the eye and blows on her hand to cool the burn from it down

 

Unbeknownst to them, the millennium items around the world had all began to glow. Mai's words echoed throughout the sky, "We have made a bargain!"

The wind funnels in around Yami, Anzu and Ryou, rustling their hair and clothes and making it hard for hem to keep their feet on the ground. Suddenly, the wind quiets and stops and the still body of Jou lies on the ground.

"Jounouchi?" Yami asks, wondering if he could truly be in front of him. " .... Jou?" He walked closer and bent down onto his knee, picking Jou up gingerly from the ground. His heart sunk as Jou continued to lie still, not moving a muscle. He looked up at the two others sadly, his eyes shining with tears.

 

Anzu's covers her mouth, her eyes shiny as well, "oh no... Jounouchi...”

 

Yami's cheeks grow red with streams of tears down them. He hugs Jou's body tightly, wishing he would move once more. Suddenly a little paw slips into his vest as if in search for some sweets.

"Sweets and munchings in here somewhere ..." Jou muttered quietly. Yami's eyes widen in both surprise and joy.

"J-Jou! You're alive!!"

 

Anzu smiles and cries happily, "he's alive!!" she giggles happily and runs over to the little Jou and hugs him, happy he's alive

 

Ryou jumps for joy in the background as Yami joins Anzu in hugging Jou, who is now in between the two. He flashes a crafty smile and pushes Anzu and Yami together which results in a quick kiss. The two quickly pull apart, Jou laughing loudly. Yami gives a nervous chuckle, waiting for Anzu's reaction.

 

Anzu blushes and also chuckles nervously, she looks to the laughing Jou, "you're a crafty one" she giggles

 

Yami smiles and then looks down At Jou. "Come on, Jounouchi, let's go home." Jou smiles broadly.

"Oh! Jou's happy day!" He exclaims in ecstasy, grabbing both Yami's and Anzu's hand, walking down the road between them as Ryou quickly caught up, ruffling Jou's furry head.

 

the image of the four walking is reflected in water, for you see, back at Suguroku's cabin was Suguroku, Seto, and Yugi whom had gotten back the puzzle when it scattered and showing the vision of them in the water

Yugi looks up to Suguroku and smiles, "brother.. did it"

Suguroku was kneeled down looking at the image in the water, as if talking to Yami's image he says, "you did well my boy."

 

"It was all luck!" Seto says grudgingly, but sneaks in a smile as he watches the four fade into the distance within the water's rippling surface.
