~~~"A-a-a twin? A brother? Why didn't you tell me sooner?" He was confused, and angry.
She looked up at him and said, "Because as the years went by, I was afraid to get your hopes up, only to never find him."~~~~~
Princes Of the Gods- Lost Together.
"I knew that you would be unable to bear the weight of this knowledge as well as your duties as Prince. I am sorry Yami, but belive me I have tried. I have tried for years to locate Y'mare, but..." The tears rolled down her beautiful face.
Yami sat down next to the weeping woman and held her close. "I understand mother. I understand.." He sighed and stared at the flowers in the small garden. The wall of the palace was only a few dozen feet away, oh so tempting to one who had been enclosed inside of these walls for a lifetime. He had only been to the city twice. Once with his Father, watching him take care of a slave uprising, and the second was by himself. He had snuck out, only to be caught and thrown down at his Father's unforgiving feet.
The woman's sobs subsided, and he let her go. "Tell me about him mother."
She was startled by his request, but she did as he asked. "You were the eldest, always stonger and healthier. But Yuugi was so small, fragile. He was so innocent. You were twins. The only few differences were your eyes and hair. You, my Yami, have your beautiful and harsh crimson eyes. So befitting for a strong soul such as yours. But his were a clear amethyst, always sparkling with emotion. You had more blonde streaks in your hair, like a crown. But his was like a halo, a wreath of golden light."
She was smiling, remembering the times when she watched her two sons play together.
~Flashback~
"Yuugi, be careful son. Yami, watch out for your little brother!" Khenmet called out to her sons as they played a game of chase in the garden.
"You're it Yuugi! Hahaha! Come on, you can get me!" Yami tore off in a burst of speed before slowing so that the sicker child could catch him. He laughed as Yuugi lightly tackled him.
"I got you Yami! Ha hahaa!" He giggled profusely and then started to cough. He wheezed for a second, but soon looked up, just as bright and happy as before.
~Present~
"You always looked over him. You two were inseperable, always playing games, drawing, running in this garden even." She started to tear up again. Yami saw this and held her close like before.
"Shhh, Mother don't cry. I'll find him. He'll be back in your arms soon enough." She smiled at the young Pharoh, wiping at her tears. "Thank you my son, my Pharoh." He rolled his eyes.
"Mo-ther!"
~~~~~~~

"Jou, I'm back!" Yelled the small cloaked figure as it ran through the doorway. "K' Yuuvha! Didja get it?" Pulling off his cloak and taking out the bundle he smiled. "Yep!" A shout of joy was heard as a large body crashed into the room.

Sandy blonde hair, honey brown eyes and a tall body. That was Jou. He grinned lopsidedly at the bundle the smaller figure held.

Yuuvha unwrapped the bundle and set out the contents. Bread, some dried fish and a flask of fresh water. Not much, but enough for the two boys to survive.

Yuuvah's brilliant amethyst eyes sparkled at the thought of food. His stomach growled hungrily. "When was the last time we had food like this? Two, three weeks? But here you go Jou, dig in!" The hungry look in Jou's eyes amused the smaller teen.

"Yuuvah, where'd you get this? How'd you get this?!" He just smiled at the taller and simply said, "Eat Jou. This is yours. I had my share earlier."

This was a lie, but he didn't need as much food as the older, taller teen. He stretched and hissed as the whip-wounds reopened, coating his back once more in his warm red blood. "Hey, Yuuv', What happened?" Yuuvah grimaced as he took off the shirt. "I got caught by a guard today. They thought that I was a slave. He whipped me. But I'm okay. My shirt however..."

by a guard! You were up by the palace again! I told you not to go there. You know that Y'maré would never let you out there either! What would she say if she knew where you had been?!" Yuuvah looked down at the ground.

"Sorry Jou. Its just that I feel like I belong there, that someone is there, waiting for me to find them. Oh listen to me, being silly. Would you help me wipe these out?"

"Sure man." The taller left to get a bandage for him. Yuuvah's stomache growled more violently this time. <<<Ngh- I'm hungry, but Jou needs that food more than me. Besides, my birthday is in a few days, I'll get something really good then.>>>

Jou came back with the bandages and a wet cloth. "Yuuv', I never want ta' here about you going near that palace again. How did you get close enough for a guard to get ya' anyways."

"I was wandering near the stalls and I fell is all." He winced as Jou wrapped his chest and back with the linens. "Okay, there ya go. Good as new!" Yuuvah smiled

"Thanks Jou, I owe you one." He smiled brightly before he pointed out Jou's food. "Your food's still there, if you aren't careful the rats will get it. Then I'll have gone through all that for nothing!" He teased.

Jou's face lit up in a flash of brilliant crimson before he dug into the fish and bread. He gnawed at it greedily before he finally got a breath. Yuuvah laughed and slipped into the room that served as their bedroom.

<<<Oh Ra, why do I feel like this? Like there's someone waiting for me? Did I displease you? Or did I do nothing, and thusly am punished for my laxity. Please Ra, let whoever is searching for me find me, let us both be happy...>>> Tears leaked from the corners of his clear amythyst eyes.

As the first salt droplet hit the sandy floor Ra granted Yuugi's request, and sent out his will to Yami. Helping him to speed up the search....

There, that should suffice for now! Have fun and I shall write more soon.
