The vampire tackled the half-Elf before him, growling dangerously as he did so.

The half-Elf used Ryo's own momentum to shove a foot in the vampire's chest and flip him over onto his back.

Paranormal speed kicked in and Ryo was back up before the half-breed could pin him. He was used to people being slower, and it was the first time anyone had ever actually ducked under an energy wave from a magical weapon. Ryo snarled, his more chaotic nature rising to the surface in his frustration.

The end of the scythe smashed into his gut and Ryo fell forward, harsh pain making his stomach feel as if it were about to flip over.

He kicked the scythe out of the half-Elf's grip and tackled the blonde, claws slicing through the boy's skin and shredding painfully.

The half-Elf punched the vampire square in the jaw and Ryo went sprawling. So maybe he was getting out of practice with brawls, he was usually the one to break them up using magic.

Ryo hissed, forcing his aching teeth to become smaller so he could talk without cutting himself.

"Chak!" Several of the rocks on the wall dislodged themselves and flew at his opponent.

"Flare!" A new voice yelled. The rocks in the air were melted inches away from the half-breed's face.

"What the fuck-?!" Seto's voice called from down the corridor.

Ryo hissed and stood, eyes casting to the magic user standing next to the Elf.

"Elf, for once you're in time, but next time don't bring the bad guys reinforcements. Ching!" He pointed his fingers at the new magic user, a sharp spike of rock creating itself before him rapidly and pitching at the boy.

The distraction gave the half-Elf a chance to recover his scythe and smash the back of it into Ryo's head.

Ryo's eyes rolled upward as his brain twitched and blacked out. The vampire's body crumpled backward.

Seto blinked as the boy who had been chatting to him as he walked up to talk to Ryo cast a fire magic spell when they rounded the corner. His initial surprise tripled when he too rounded the corner and saw a rather unusual sight.

There were three figures and the vampire was in the midst of battle with someone who, were it not for his Elven sense, he would have mistaken for Marik. Okay, so he should have seen this coming when they had come across the rather painfully killed bodies of a patrol of guards, but he'd been a bit distracted by 'Joey's' story of mermaids and some magical battle axe and, well, he was a sucker for russet eyes! Well, these were all poor excuses, and when Ryo threw a spike at the blonde, who easily dodged, Seto could only sigh in exasperation. Why hadn't he seen this coming?

"And here I was hoping he was wrong for ONCE. Just ONCE! Do you know how much he's going to brag about this?"

Little Joey blinked at him. "Shit, ye're a guard?"

"Jounouchi! I thought you were distracting the bloody Elf, not bringing more people to dispose of up here." A tall man barked.

Seto looked at the man and raised an eyebrow, whoever they were; they were good at impersonating everyone BUT the prince. For one, Yugi didn't carry a giant battle axe, or stand so confidently; it was like comparing a flower to a tiger. Pretty, but different species

The captain of the bodyguards sighed again and drew his sword from its scabbard.

"Capt'n! 'Was just starting to have a good time with the stiff ass, too. Alright, 'm sorry mate, but ye'd live longer if ye put the sword away."

Seto shook his head, so the name had been a lie. That was sort of annoying, the human had been cute too; pity the king would have everyone executed for trying to kill Yugi.

"I have my duty to the Prince, little human. I am not about to let you kill him."

Jounouchi sighed and held up a hand. "Zilch."

Seto hit the wall head first and was unconscious before he slumped.

Things were not looking good for the Royal guards.

Sweet notes: Ack! Sorry about the short chapter, I didn't have much else I could have written, I included Seto's POV to make it longer, but it didn't… kinda… work. Ehehe, gomen! I'll finish the next chapter extra quick to make up for it!!!! ^^;;; reeevvieew?

Yugi: ohh… I'm in trouble aren't I?

Yami: Lesee, unarmed, all guards are unconscious, asleep, small and innocent. Yep, you're as good as randso- *Sweets shuts him up*

Sweets: *hissing* shuttud!!! You'll wreck the surprises!

Yami: *glares and hugs Yugi possessively* tsch, but he's worth more than any old gem!

Malik: Even the world's most expensive gem?

Yami: umm…. *twitches between gem and Yugi*

Seto: *snorts with laughter* what am I? Ruled by my groin?

Jounouchi: naw, you're just a sucker for a bishounen.

Seto: that's not hard to be, puppy. *snuggles and munches Jou's ears*

Ryo: eww! Get a room!

Malik: Don't bother, we're okay with it *leer*

Bakura: pervert.

Marik: like you can talk.

Sweets: yeah!

All: *stare at her*

Sweets:… yeah, yeah, kettle calling the pot black.
