`Nothing's gonna stop me now tonight
Nothing's gonna stop me now
I fly for you
I'm dreaming of you

My heart is crying for a stranger's name
Tonight I need to play a brand new game
I know I will find you
Just look around you

I feel tonight that all my dreams come true
You'll never give up thinking for me too
You are the light
In this dark night

While the night is passing by
I'm gonna make you fly
I want you to stay by my side

Nothing's gonna stop me now tonight
Nothing's gonna stop me now
I fly for you
I'm dreaming of you

Have you ever thought that this could be
This feeling so strong between you and me
Just close your eyes
There is where love lies

I hope you are the hero of my dreams
Everything seems strange also for me
This can't be wrong
My vision of love'
Ch. 33: Finding the Key
`Shada?!' Kalim thought as he saw his comrade, slightly lost and confused at everything. “Shada!” He called and the other looked over with a surprised expression.

“Kalim?!” He called when he saw Atem. “Phar-“ He started when the young man went through him completely. He was even more lost then before.

“Come on!” Kalim said as he dragged the shocked priest.

“Kalim, what's going on?!”

Kalim explained everything to the lost comrade.

“An imposter of Heba told you to find Heba's true name and to find the person who has the same link as the Pharaoh?” Shada said, seeing if he got it right.

“That's right.”

“And so far?”

“Heba's true name is Yugi and the young man we're chasing after is the Pharaoh reincarnate.”

“Reincarnate?”

“Yes, and it seems he's slightly aware of the affairs that's happening in Egypt.”

“How?”

“Because, not only he's the reincarnation of our Pharaoh, but he has strong feelings to Heba-Yugi.”

“Heba-Yugi?”

“Couldn't decide how to call her now, but we're getting off the subject. Anyway, it seems she's the main part of the link between the two.”

The young man stopped in a middle of a park and looked thoughtful.

The two spirit priests stopped as well.

“Why would she be the important part of the bond?” Shada asked. “I understand that the Pharaoh and Heba… Yugi, have grown attached, but… why her? She has done absolutely nothing to cause or deserve this!”

“I've been wondering the same thing.” Kalim said.

“Of course!” They looked at the young man. “That place would definitely work!” Then he took off.

“He's just as confusing as our king.” Shada said.

“Makes it up for a couple of lost souls out of their era.” Kalim said as both resumed their chasing.

They were in the streets when the alarm went on.

Hurricane Warning!” It said three times, making people in cars jump out and run off to different locations.

“How many people live here?!” Shada asked, a bit shocked.

“A lot more then we do.” Kalim responded when they saw the telephone wires cut and fall to where the three were.

“Shit!” Atem said as he dodged them.

“Thank the gods he's gifted with fast reflexes.” Kalim said as Shada nodded.

The wind grew stronger and the sirens kept going on and off with warnings.

Atem held onto a lamp post.

“Pharaoh!” Both spirits called out when three of them saw a tornado landed some miles away.

“This is madness!” Shada said as the young man began to fight the wind.

“Which one? The weather or his sanity?” Kalim asked as junk went through them.

“Does it matter?!” Shada said as rain came down, but something was off.

Atem put his arms up to defend his eyes then shortly it stopped. Then he found a temporary shelter for him to rest while the spirits were looking out for him. “This is…” He said as he took a deep breath. “…crazy.”

“No kidding.” Said the two spirits.

Even if this body is destroyed…

All three heard and recognized the voice and they looked up at the source and saw a battlefield up in the darken sky.

The light of my soul will pass to someone else! My soul will go on and on… Until you are conquered at last!

Fool!” Shouted Zorc. “Haven't you figured it out? It is humans who give me power!

`What?' Both spirits thought as Zorc continued.

Shadows are born in the human heart! In the midst of light, the only way for men to know themselves is to turn to the darkness and see their own shadow! Without my shadows, you would be mere drones, never questioning the meaning of your existence… The never-ending wars and slaughter among men… they are the instincts of mankind, the regular adjustments needed to sustain life! With my power I will create a world of eternal darkness! ” As soon as Zorc said that last thing, the shelter began to collapse and an earthquake came. “I'll give you foolish mortals an endless hell!!

Atem ran as he jumped over junk and cracks.

Come, my shadows!! Cover the heavens!! Crawl out of hiding! Crush the land!

Black rain poured and black ooze coming out of cracks and the young man continued to run.

“My gods…” Kalim said as the other nodded.

The sky covered up the scene as they continued to go through the crazy storm weather. Atem then headed towards a building and entered on room before he threw up a good amount of blood and fell to his knees, then to his side.

“Pharaoh!” The two spirits called out as they went up to him, only to see that he managed to get up and headed over to a strange instrument in the center of the room

“Time is running short.” Shada said. “If we're here to do something, it better be now!”

Kalim nodded. “Agreed, but how?”

“Yugi…” They heard him whisper as well as saw a tear roll down his face. The two found themselves helpless at that moment.

“Ra damn it all!” Shada shouted as he looked angered. “What good will it do if we stand around and do nothing!”

Kalim agreed and saw that the young man happened to look their way. “Shada…”

“What is it Kalim?” Shada asked. “Do you know how to strengthen the link?”

“Link?” Atem said hardly above a whisper as the second spirit looked his way.

“Can you see us?” Kalim asked.

Atem looked a bit lost before saying. “Kalim? Shada? Aren't you two priests of the Pharaoh's court?”

They nodded and the young man struggled to get up.

“What are you doing here?”

The two spirits looked at each other before looking at the reincarnation of their king. “We came to your time to find a way for you to contact our king.” Kalim said, a bit unsure if that's the real intent but it didn't matter at the moment.

“I've been trying to do that since I got the visions.” Atem admitted. “But so far I had no luck whatsoever.” He felt dizzy and placed his hands on the keys to steady him, creating a loud, mixed sound from the piano.

“Phar- I mean, Atem!” Kalim said, feeling a bit awkward about addressing the other.

“I'm fine… sorta.” Atem responded as he looked at his hand and gasped.

“What?” Shada asked as the young man lifted his hand.

Atem's hand was becoming a see-through object and is disappearing more each second. “What's happening to me?” He asked the spirits, who looked alarmed at the sight.

“If the Pharaoh's soul is destroyed…” Shada started as Kalim finished.

“Then you will cease to exist.”

Atem looked shocked beyond this realization. “Damn it!” He yelled, one fist pounded the keys. “What would happen to Yugi?” He asked, a concerned look in his tired eyes.

The two spirits were silent, part not knowing, part thinking the worst.

Atem knew what both were thinking and he grew scared. He roughly got up from the piano stool, knocking it down to its side, and glared at them. “What do I have to do to prevent this?!” He said as the two spirits remained silent. “What in the name of your gods am I suppose to do to prevent her from dying?!” He shouted at them.
“What about you?” Shada asked.

“I couldn't give a damn about what happens to me as long as she's alive and happy!” Atem responded. “She means everything to me!” He closed his eyes as tears began to fall. “Without her, my life means nothing! I wouldn't be able to be who I am today without her!” He took a deep breath and slightly calmed down. “I know people go on knowing that the other is in a better place, but… She's… a part of me… a part of my life… my heart…” He opened his eyes and looked at them. “She has my heart in her delicate hands that prevent it from breaking down into nothing.” The emotions became too much for him as he fell to his knees. He felt drained, and not from the emotions. He looked at his disappearing hand and saw that the outline of his skin was there but his arm was also disappearing. Then, from the corner of his eye, he saw a piece of paper. He grabbed it and turned it over.

The two spirits went over and gasped at what they saw. On the paper was a drawing of their city, only slightly destroyed and in the middle of the picture was a woman that seemed to look like a goddess with the way she glowed.

“Who did this?” Kalim asked.

“Yugi did.” Atem said. “She got this from a dream years ago.” He then looked as though he had an idea. “Kalim! Shada! I know how to contact the Pharaoh me!”

The two spirits looked surprised and hopeful.

“First of all, do you have any power left at all?” Atem asked.

The two looked at each other.

“It doesn't have to be a huge amount, just enough to get me in contact.”

Kalim tried, nothing.

Shada focused and he only has a small amount. “I only have a little.” He admitted.

“That's fine.” Atem said with a smile when he hissed in pain.

“Atem!” The two spirits called when the young man held his side, which was also disappearing, a see-through.

“I'm fine.” Atem whispered as he laid down on his side.

“Fine? How can you be-“ Shada started when the young man used his see-through arm to hit the other on the leg, which was felt by the spirit.

“This is the only chance anyone has…” Atem said looking up at Shada. “I'm going to try to get a vision, once I pass out, use whatever you have on me to open a form of window to get me to contact him…”

Shada looked unsure.

“Please… Like your king, I don't want to see this world controlled by shadows.” Atem said. “And I don't want to know what would happen to anyone if that were to happen, especially Yugi… Please Shada…”

Shada sighed and nodded.

Atem smiled as he closed his eyes to concentrate. `Come on, I have to give this last shot. Or everything will be lost!'

`If I never knew you
If I never felt this love
I would have no inkling of
How precious life can be

And if I never held you
I would never have a clue
How at last I'd find in you
The missing part of me.

In this world so full of fear
Full of rage and lies
I can see the truth so clear
In your eyes
So dry your eyes

And I'm so grateful to you
I'd have lived my whole life through
Lost forever
If I never knew you

If I never knew you
I'd be safe but half as real
Never knowing I could feel
A love so strong and true

I'm so grateful to you
I'd have lived my whole life through
Lost forever
If I never knew you

I thought our love would be so beautiful
Somehow we'd make the whole world bright
I never knew that fear and hate could be so strong
all they'd leave us were these whispers in the night
But still my heart is saying we were right

Oh if I never knew you
If I never knew you
I would have no inkling of
If our time has gone too fast
How precious life can be...
I've lived at last...

I thought our love would be so beautiful
Somehow we'd make the whole world bright
I thought our love would be so beautiful
We'd turn the darkness into light
And still my heart is saying we were right
we were right

And if I never knew you
If I never knew you
I'd have lived my whole life through
Empty as the sky
Never knowing why
Lost forever
If I never knew you
If I never knew you (oh)
If I never knew you
