`Nothing's gonna stop me now tonight
Nothing's gonna stop me now
I fly for you
I'm dreaming of you
My heart is crying for a stranger's name
Tonight I need to play a brand new game
I know I will find you
Just look around you
I feel tonight that all my dreams come true
You'll never give up thinking for me too
You are the light
In this dark night
While the night is passing by
I'm gonna make you fly
I want you to stay by my side
Nothing's gonna stop me now tonight
Nothing's gonna stop me now
I fly for you
I'm dreaming of you
Have you ever thought that this could be
This feeling so strong between you and me
Just close your eyes
There is where love lies
I hope you are the hero of my dreams
Everything seems strange also for me
This can't be wrong
My vision of love'
Ch. 32: Kalim's Mission
“M-My Lord…” Kalim said as the young king supported him before closing his eyes for the final time.
“Kalim…”
He heard someone, or something calling him.
“Kalim, wake up.”
He opened his eyes only to see a black room.
“Over here Kalim.”
He looked and he couldn't believe what he was seeing. The source of the voice was Heba, but there was something different. “Heba?”
“Not quite.” `Heba' said, but her mouth didn't move.
He was lost.
“I'm a spirit that took her form to hide my true identity.”
He took a closer look and saw that this `Heba's' eyes were a pale royal blue instead of sparkling violet.
“But now is not the time for idle chit chat.” `Heba' said as she showed a look of serious business, which the other wasn't used to from the young girl he knew. “As long as Zorc is in control, the afterworld is blocked, thus denying any entrance for in-coming souls such as yourself.”
He blinked, not completely understanding.
“We're in the borderline between your time and the afterworld, or heaven as some may call.”
“What do you mean?” As if to answer his question, the black area changed to an entirely different scenery.
“This city you see before you is called Domino.” She explained.
They floated down to a small house, where the modern Atem just started to walk out with a box.
“Pharaoh?!” Kalim called out, but the other didn't hear him.
“His name is Atem Misoka, and he's the Pharaoh reincarnate.”
“Reincarnate?” He said as he looked at the young man.
“We will catch up with him in a moment, but first you need to know why you're here.”
They entered through the building, where Kalim saw yet another familiar face. “Siamun?”
“His name is Solomon Mouto, many call him Grandpa Mouto.” She explained. “And if you take a look at this picture here,” She pointed to a small frame with a picture in it. “You'll find some other familiar faces.”
Kalim did and had a look of complete shock. `Pharaoh Akhenamkhanen… and Heba!' He saw that the young girl, even though her dark hair is long, there was no doubt that it was her. He looked at the `Heba' imposter and pointed to the picture.
“The one who looks like the previous pharaoh is Atem's father, not much different then your Pharaoh and the girl you referred to as Heba…”
He waited for the answer.
“Is your mission to find out.”
He blinked.
“Not only will you uncover her name, but also for you to help the Pharaoh through a special link only found by the one person that has the same deep connection as your Pharaoh.” With that, she disappeared.
“Wait! What did you mean by that?!”
“Hurry now! The shadows will come and will try to destroy what your Pharaoh tried to prevent.”
He was speechless as he stood there, wondering what to do next. `I might as well find this other Pharaoh known as Atem Misoka.' He thought as he walked through the door. `I may have a better chance to understand what the Heba imposter was saying.' He looked around the area and went towards the direction the other was in. But the matter of following was much difficult then he expected. `How many people live here?!' He thought as he was starting to get dizzy from seeing so many people, especially when people go through him. He finally found a street that seemed peaceful enough, until…
“Why can't you be more like Yugi!” A girl screamed.
He blinked when he heard that.
“Well guess what?! I'm not Yugi!”
For some reason he followed the girl's voice only to find the person he was looking for, hiding from view. Then they saw the girl walk away from a shocked couple.
Atem took out a strange device and placed it up to his ear. “Hey, it's Atem… Do you think you could help me out with something?”
Kalim was completely lost with the strange device.
“Well, do you still have that black coat and hat from winter?... Is Moukaba with you?... Well, could you meet me at the front of the south entrance of the mall?... And could you possibly get Moukaba to bring his camera along as well?... I'll tell you about it once I get there, okay?... Thanks a lot Lisa! See ya!” Atem turned off the device and walked out of the hiding place.
Kalim followed, not knowing what else to do at the moment.
They stopped by a building filled with books, and the young man set the box down on a bench and took out another strange device and looked inside and inserted another strange device and looked inside and inserted another strange device into that one. He hid the device in his back pocket and brought the box up to a desk with a young girl with white hair.
“Oh! Atem!” The girl said.
“Hey Ryou.” Atem said. “Working at the desk today?”
Ryou nodded. “Yeah, someone called in sick and I have to fill in.”
He nodded and started to explain the reason of the box filled with tapes.
“Okay,” She said. “I'll take it over to the development room.”
“How's Bakura lately?”
That caught Kalim's attention. `He's here?!' He thought.
“He's fine.” Said Ryou. “I believe he's over at the mystery aisle.” She giggled. “I swear he's addicted to murder mysteries like flies with honey.”
Atem laughed. “Well, I think he'll make a great C.S.I agent.”
“Why's that?”
“Because he used to have a criminal record, until he met his angel.”
Ryou blushed, which caused the young man to chuckle.
Kalim was a little lost then, once the pieces are together, he figured it out. `This young woman is Bakura's maiden in this time.”
“Hey!” Said a voice that's all too familiar. “Quit bringing up my lousy past!” Bakura said as he hit Atem on the head with a book.
“Ow!” Atem said rubbing the spot where the book hit him. “I happen to complement you on being the next C.S.I agent.”
Bakura `humphed' and jumped over the desk.
“Kura!” Ryou said. “How many times have I told you to not jump over the desk?”
Bakura looked thoughtful. “As many as the letters in about three chapters in a book?”
Ryou sighed. “What am I going to do with you?”
Bakura, to Kalim's surprise, smiled a kind, soft smile. “Love me… and always tell me if I screw up so I don't loose you.” He then chuckled. “And I've found this great recipe that I like to try out.”
“I'm out!” Atem said as he turned towards the door.
“Where do you think you're going?” Bakura asked.
“I'm going to hang around the mall for a bit and work on it from there.”
“Alright, just try not to get hit on.” Bakura said.
Atem laughed as he walked out of the door.
Kalim followed and noticed a sudden change in the other's mood.
Atem took out a necklace hidden under his shirt and opened the heart charm that has a picture of a girl.
`Heba?' Kalim thought when he saw the picture.
Atem closed the charm and gave it a squeeze before placing in back under his shirt. He started to run and Kalim glided after him.
`Heba became special to the Pharaoh and this Atem is no doubt has strong feelings for her.' Kalim then realized something. `Could Heba be the link that the imposter was talking about?' Before he could ponder on that thought, they reached a huge building. From there, they met up with a young girl and a young boy.
“Hey Lisa! Moukaba! Glad that you could make it.”
“Yo.” Moukaba said.
“About damn time!” Lisa said, wearing a black over coat and fanning herself with a black hat. “I'm really damn hot in this crappy coat! And when I mean hot, I mean the temperature in this thing!”
“Let's head inside.” Atem said as they all went inside, where it felt cool as well as a crowd going on.
“Now!” Lisa started. “What the hell are we doing here, and why the hell am I being told to wear this piece of crap that's suppose to be used in the freezing, mother trucker winter?!”
Kalim was surprised on how the young lady spoke. `I've never heard such foul language coming out of a young girl's mouth before.' He thought.
“Well, we all know that today is a clothing sale in some stores.” Atem started.
“Would you get to the damn point before I beat your royal ass to do it?”
“Frame Anzu on the spot.” He said casually.
Lisa looked interested. “Continue…”
Atem took out the tape recorder and handed it to her as well as picked up today's paper and handed it to her. “You got the video camera, Moukaba?”
Moukaba nodded. And held up the small device.
“Good, follow me.” He said as he headed to an elevator. The other's followed, only to have some kind of idea of what's going on. They headed to a bench and he told Lisa to sit on the bench and to put her hat on. He then explained the plan to them and Moukaba used the bridge and tested the angle before giving the thumbs up. “And not a moment too soon.” He said as he saw Anzu coming out of one store with five bags. “Anzu!” He called.
She glared at him. “What do you want?”
As the conversation went, Kalim watched as well as listened.
“Was it you who signed the application for Yugi to attend to that school?”
Anzu's face started to drain from color.
Kalim saw this.
“Empty your pockets!” She said.
Atem did and she smiled a crooked smile. “What?” He said.
“Yeah…” She said. “I signed that application. The old fart was so easy to forge and much easier for how no one knew it was me.”
Kalim didn't like how this girl was acting and had to laugh when she thought that the young man didn't have proof on her confession as she walked away.
“You got it?” He asked Lisa, who put down the paper.
“Every last crappy word from that bitch.” She said waving the odd object called the tape recorder. “Now we just take them to the police?” She asked.
“Yes.” He said as he took the tape recorder.
“Can I at least do one little thing?”
“By `little thing', you mean causing a commotion and beat her as inhumanly as possible while cursing?”
“Yes.” She said simply.
Kalim was wide eyed at how well the young man understood the girl.
“Just don't get caught.”
“Seriously?” She said, as well as Kalim, who was shocked.
Atem nodded. “But make it legal, alright? Just break a leg or two should do.”
Kalim had to back away when he saw the look the girl had.
“Not a problem!” She said.
“What are we doing?” Moukaba asked when he came up.
“We're going to make Anzu suffer.”
“How?”
“By breaking two of her legs without being caught.”
Moukaba smiled. “Sounds like a lot of fun!” He said as he handed a small round, flat object before running with Lisa. “See ya later Atem!” They said as they disappeared into the crowd.
`Those two are the craziest children I'll ever see…' Kalim thought as he heard the young man sigh.
Atem got up from the bench and headed out of the mall.
They walked for awhile until the young man entered another building to turn in the two strange items. After that, they walked for sometime when something caught the young man's attention. Kalim looked over and saw that it was a deserted playground and he noticed that the other was heading over there.
Atem sat in on of the swings there as an ambulance went by. He looked thoughtful for a moment before pushing himself.
Kalim could see that this place used to be a place of happy memories of the girl in his locket.
Atem got up and they started to walk once more.
They stopped by a flower shop, where he purchased a rose and they continued back on their walk. They then entered a cemetery and headed to two particular stones, where the young man replaced a dying flower with a new one in a vase.
“Hey Mom. Hey Dad.” Atem said.
Kalim was shocked to hear that. `So, this is a place where the dead come to rest.' He thought.
“Not much going on besides Yugi still being missing…”
`Yugi?' Kalim thought as he remembered hearing the name mentioned a few times. `Is that Heba's true name then?'
“She's so strong in will and is always by your side when you need it…” Atem chuckled sadly. “And she doesn't even realize how strong and important she is… Damn, I really have it bad, don't I?”
“No shit, Sherlock.”
Both Atem and Kalim jumped at the sound of Bakura's voice.
“Damn it Bakura! Don't sneak up on me like that!”
Bakura shrugged. “It's fun seeing you spooked out now and again.”
Atem glared as he stood up and bowed towards the gravestones. “Excuse me but I must go now until the next time I drop by.” He said as he straightened and he and Bakura, as well as Kalim, walked out of the cemetery. “Where and how did you know about this place?” He asked.
Bakura sighed. “You really are a moron.” He said as he looked at him. “Everyone knows that this is your favorite quiet place.”
`Really?' Kalim thought as Atem sighed.
“Is it really that obvious?”
Bakura gave the young man a look. “Would you stop acting like an idiot already! It's getting on my nerves!”
Atem put his hands up in defense. “Okay, okay.”
Bakura took a deep breath as he looked up. “Strange weather we're having…”
Atem looked up and saw that there were some dark clouds gathering. “Yeah…”
Kalim looked up as well and had a bad feeling about it.
“Do you think this is the cause of what's happening in Egypt?”
Kalim had a confused look on his face.
“I did have a nasty vibe going down my spine earlier today.”
“See anything?”
“Disturbingly I have.”
“How?”
“I saw the Thief turn into sand for one thing.”
“What else?”
“One of the priests betrayed the Pharaoh me and I woke up seeing Zorc being summoned.”
“Zorc?” Bakura said as Kalim looked alarmed.
“He's supposedly a dark god that would try to make the world of shadows.”
Bakura looked at him. “Well that explained the odd weather.”
Atem nodded when a huge gust of wind came in.
“Shit! It's cold!” Bakura said as he wrapped his arms around himself.
Atem looked seriously at the sky then looked at the other. “Listen!”
Both Bakura and Kalim looked at him.
“I'm having a bad feeling about this weather. You better find Ryou and the others and get them to the Game Shop.”
“What about you?”
Kalim wanted to know as well.
“I don't know… I'll find a safe area where I can hopefully concentrate and see if I could get the Pharaoh me's attention.”
Bakura nodded and started to run but then turned to face the other. “Atem! Just don't hurt yourself!”
Atem smiled. “I may be an idiot, but I'm not stupid!” With that the other ran. He stood there for a moment as the wind became a little stronger.
`So he's aware of the link only slightly. I only hope that I could be of help in getting that link strong so that he could come in contact with the Pharaoh.' Kalim thought as he saw the young man run through the blinding rain that suddenly came down. He followed only to notice something, or someone up ahead. `Shada?!'

`If I never knew you
If I never felt this love
I would have no inkling of
How precious life can be
And if I never held you
I would never have a clue
How at last I'd find in you
The missing part of me.
In this world so full of fear
Full of rage and lies
I can see the truth so clear
In your eyes
So dry your eyes
And I'm so grateful to you
I'd have lived my whole life through
Lost forever
If I never knew you
If I never knew you
I'd be safe but half as real
Never knowing I could feel
A love so strong and true
I'm so grateful to you
I'd have lived my whole life through
Lost forever
If I never knew you
I thought our love would be so beautiful
Somehow we'd make the whole world bright
I never knew that fear and hate could be so strong
all they'd leave us were these whispers in the night
But still my heart is saying we were right
Oh if I never knew you
If I never knew you
I would have no inkling of
If our time has gone too fast
How precious life can be...
I've lived at last...
I thought our love would be so beautiful
Somehow we'd make the whole world bright
I thought our love would be so beautiful
We'd turn the darkness into light
And still my heart is saying we were right
we were right
And if I never knew you
If I never knew you
I'd have lived my whole life through
Empty as the sky
Never knowing why
If I never felt this love
