`Nothing's gonna stop me now tonight
Nothing's gonna stop me now
I fly for you
I'm dreaming of you
My heart is crying for a stranger's name
Tonight I need to play a brand new game
I know I will find you
Just look around you
I feel tonight that all my dreams come true
You'll never give up thinking for me too
You are the light
In this dark night
While the night is passing by
I'm gonna make you fly
I want you to stay by my side
Nothing's gonna stop me now tonight
Nothing's gonna stop me now
I fly for you
I'm dreaming of you
Have you ever thought that this could be
This feeling so strong between you and me
Just close your eyes
There is where love lies
I hope you are the hero of my dreams
Everything seems strange also for me
This can't be wrong
My vision of love'
Ch. 38: After the Dust Has Settled
~Next Day: Egypt~
Everyone was trying to start up their lives again by working on things that Yugi, Atem and the others were unable to do.
“Lady Yugi!” Called a palace scribe.
Yugi looked back and smiled. “Yes?”
“I'm sorry to bother you.”
“No, no bother at all.”
“Well, my lady, High Priest Seth has asked to summon you to the Sorcerer's Study for-”
“For me to take care of Mana and her training.”
“Well…”
“I'll be there.” She said as she went over to the study. When she arrived, she popped her head in through the doors. “Hello.”
“Thank gods!” Seth said as he ran up behind her. “You take care of her while I help the Pharaoh.” He quickly said as he ran out like a jackrabbit.
She looked at Mana and giggled. “I've never seen him like that!”
Mana giggled as well. “I know. It was so funny!”
“Lisa would've liked you.”
“Who's Lisa?”
As Yugi explained about Lisa and the rest of her friends, Seth arrived at the throne room, where Isis was waiting.
“Hello, Seth, Mana becoming too much?” She said with a smile.
“I don't know how Mahado could put up with her!” Seth said.
“Yugi doesn't seem to have a problem, and she wasn't here long.”
“That's because she understands that crazy girl.”
“That crazy girl…” Atem said as he came in. “Is going to be our new priestess of the Millennium Ring.” The two priests bowed. “Rise you two, we have matters concerning the new priests of the Millennium Items.” They did when Isis gasped.
“Isis? Did you have a vision?” Seth asked as Isis closed her eyes and focused.
“I see Yugi… She's crying…”
The two listened as she continued.
“There's some kind of book with pictures… they have her in each one… She's saying… `It can't be true'…”
“What could that mean?” Seth asked.
“I know…” Atem said. “It's just as I feared.”
“What is it, Pharaoh?” Seth asked when a guard came in.
“Pardon me,” He said as he bowed. “But we have a few priests from our neighboring cities that would like to speak with you.”
“Bring them in.” Atem said as he went up to his throne. `So… it is what I feared…' He thought as he saw four men and some of their students walking up. `That my reincarnation in Yugi's time has disappeared from existence.' He put that thought out of the way for a moment to talk to, what it would seem, the next holders of the Millennium Items.
~Later that Evening~
Yugi and Atem were eating together out on the balcony as she talked lively about Mana and her increased training. Atem just smiled and mentally laughed at the huge change that took place.
`When she first came here, she was shy, quiet, and doesn't think she could do anything. Now look at her, outgoing, talkative and ready to take a challenge. Gods what have I done?' He chuckled on that, which Yugi picked up.
“What's so funny?” She asked with a bright smile on her face.
“Just thinking how much you changed.” He answered.
“Do tell.”
He told her what he was thinking and both laughed as she blushed.
“Oh!” She said, getting over her blush. “I haven't told you about my life. Now that I have my memory back and all.”
Atem looked interested as deep down, he hoped she would've forgotten about that. `It would break her heart completely if I told her that her Atem is no more.' He mentally chuckled sadly. `Her Atem… why does that sound right when I'm sitting here and she's here with me? I guess that's part of accepting this confusing love bond.' The rest of the night was him truly listening.
How her grandfather and Siamun were alike, how her friends were like and how her time was different from his.
“Seriously?”
Yugi nodded. “Yep. Seth-sama and Seto-san are one alike, only Seto-san's skin is a lot like mine.”
Atem laughed. “I can't imagine that!”
She laughed as well, knowing it was true.
Then is settled to a pausing silence. Yugi looked up at the night sky and sighed.
“You miss them.” Atem said, not in a questioning way.
She looked at the other and nodded. “They must be so worried about me, yet they couldn't do anything about it. And I don't blame them.” She smiled. “But I learned a lot here and I'm a bit stronger then I was the first time I came here.”
“That you have.”
She sighed again. “But I'm going to miss this too. Mana, Seth-sama, Isis-san, the kingdom, even you.”
He was surprised as well as touched by this.
“I know that you and Atem in my time are exactly the same, but…”
He shook his head. “I understand where you're heading at.” He said. “No matter where we are, or what forms we take, we're always together and not even the differences of time will change that.”
She smiled. “Thank you. I needed to hear that.”
He chuckled as he noticed how late it was. “We should head to bed. I've got a big day tomorrow.”
“What's going on tomorrow?”
“Meetings, meetings and more meetings.”
“That is a big day.” Yugi said with a giggle.
“How about you take my place and see how you like it.” He said as they walked inside and down the hall.
“Oh, come now, it can't be all that bad.” She said. “Everyone is still recovering from what happened yesterday.”
“Quite true.”
“Pharaoh!” Seth called as he came up.
“Evening Seth-sama.” Yugi said.
“Evening, Lady Yugi.” He said as he started to discuss about something when Yugi screamed and jumped, which she was caught by the young ruler.
“What's wrong Yugi?” Atem asked concerningly.
She pointed to something on the ground and they saw a mouse.
“A mouse?” Atem said.
“A mouse?” Seth said, slightly bewildered. “Wait, you mean to tell me that you're not afraid of going face to face with a crazed thief, bringing down a dark evil god, and you more then once risked your life to help another. And you're afraid of a small fur ball?”
There was no response.
“I don't believe it!”
“Hey everyone!” Mana said as she came up, only to see the mouse. “EEK!” She screamed and jumped on Seth, who looked really annoyed right now.
He looked at the small animal and made a motion to stomp on it, which made it scurry away. “Mana… Get off of me.”
The girl did as Atem put Yugi down.
“I guess it is silly.” Yugi said with a nervous giggle.
Before Seth could blow, Atem laughed and said that it was true. “Wait here Seth, I will be with you in a moment.” He said as he asked Mana to take Yugi to her room. He kissed Yugi goodnight before joining up with Seth.
When Yugi reached to her room, she said goodnight to Mana and changed for bed. As she lied there, she remembered something.
He placed the cards in her hand and cupped her face before leaning up.
“What are you doing?!” The Pharaoh asked.
“Giving you energy to summon the gods.”
“What?”
“Well if I can't do this with her then I have to do it with you.”
“You sure it will work?”
“Only way to find out.” Atem said as he kissed her. He felt himself being drained, but he didn't care. With that, he became a ghost.
“Atem!” The young ruler called seeing that the modern version became a see-through. “What are you doing?!”
Atem straightened and looked at the young king. “If this doesn't work, I don't know what will.” He said, which seemed to echo around the room and he began to dim. “Take care of her for me.” Were his last words before his completely disappeared.
She looked out into her balcony and saw the dark heavenly night sky. `You can't be gone… can you?' She thought as she tried to sleep.

`If I never knew you
If I never felt this love
I would have no inkling of
How precious life can be
And if I never held you
I would never have a clue
How at last I'd find in you
The missing part of me.
In this world so full of fear
Full of rage and lies
I can see the truth so clear
In your eyes
So dry your eyes
And I'm so grateful to you
I'd have lived my whole life through
Lost forever
If I never knew you
If I never knew you
I'd be safe but half as real
Never knowing I could feel
A love so strong and true
I'm so grateful to you
I'd have lived my whole life through
Lost forever
If I never knew you
I thought our love would be so beautiful
Somehow we'd make the whole world bright
I never knew that fear and hate could be so strong
all they'd leave us were these whispers in the night
But still my heart is saying we were right
Oh if I never knew you
If I never knew you
I would have no inkling of
If our time has gone too fast
How precious life can be...
I've lived at last...
I thought our love would be so beautiful
Somehow we'd make the whole world bright
I thought our love would be so beautiful
We'd turn the darkness into light
And still my heart is saying we were right
we were right
And if I never knew you
If I never knew you
I'd have lived my whole life through
Empty as the sky
Never knowing why
If I never felt this love
I would have no inkling of
How precious life can be
