I wanted to, I really did. I wanted to call him out on his bluff, but instead the rest made me stay here. Joey and Yugi would not let me go. Kaiba had mumbled something about the game only beginning, and went back to Mokuba.
That had resulted in me being watched the whole day. First by Honda, then Joey, then Honda again, and now Yugi. He had won two battles and already had five star chips. Joey now had four, and I only had two.
'Are you okay?'
Yugi held a cup of water in front of me. I drank it all at once.
'Of course I'm not fine. Honda took my ring, and without you around, he'll put me
through hell. I've got Kaiba threatening me and I feel pressure about winning this
contest.'
When I looked up because of the light I saw, Yami gazed into my eyes. Without even thinking about it, he gently pushed me to the ground. One hand holding the back of my head and one resting on my chest. Again his breathing got a bit louder. As he was lying on top of me, he moved closer and closer. His lips touched mine, and I closed my eyes. The pain wasn't there anymore, since Honda took the ring. Yami felt so powerful, I couldn't help but surrender to him.
Yami began kissing a bit rougher, his hands wandering over my body. Suddenly Yami stood up. It caught me by surprise.
'Something wrong?'
'I'm sorry. I had some dark thoughts, I can't continue as much as I want to.'
I decided not to make this any harder on him.
'Well, if it helps.. That was amazing.'
Yami turned around, gave me a small kiss and sat down next to me.
'Thanks, you're cute. Than again, you're kind of stupid.'
'What? Why?'
He grinned and lay his hand on my leg. It felt warm and loving.
'You're planning to duel Kaiba for you freedom, even though you know what he can
do to you. Why would you do something so idiotic?'
'Because he's bluffing. There's no way he could've restored the chip without me
around. Besides, I want to beat him again and again until I have humiliated him
enough to finally leave me alone. That's why I'm going after him, with or without my
ring.'
I looked up when Yami was searching his deck.
'Here, take this for now. It's my favorite card, The Dark Magician. I know you're
gonna go soon, and I want you to win. Raven, I don't want to lose you!'
Suddenly everything around us changed. I had been here once before, in the Shadow Realm. It had happened when Kaiba put the ring on me for the first time. This time it wasn't me who activated the change of surroundings, it must have been Yami.
'Why did you do this?'
'I'm sorry. It happens when I get too emotional, I can't control it.'
He got emotional, because he didn't want me to get hurt again?
'Why do you care so much?'
Yami didn't speak, but held my chin and kissed me. It had to be like Kaiba said, that Yami loved me. I couldn't be careless when it came to Kaiba, but I wanted to beat him so bad.
We were back by the tent, back in the forest. It only took a few seconds before we saw Honda, Joey and Anzu. I wanted to say something to Yami, but he had already turned back.
Joey finally was the one to stay guard. I had been waiting for this moment. A few minutes in his shift, Joey would always walk a little bit around, checking the area. I only had a minute or so to flee into the dark forest and disappear behind the trees. I looked at my ring. Honda had no idea I took it, and when he would next morning, I'd be long gone and defeating Kaiba.
Finally it was time. I ran as fast as I could, as quiet as I could. I ran for almost ten minutes before I took the time to see where I was going. If I wanted to beat Kaiba, I had to lure him to a darkness field.
I was no longer in the forest, nor was I near the sea. I looked at the map I had taken with me. Sweet, there was a darkness field right up ahead. If only I could lure Kaiba somehow to that field, it would give almost every monster I had a huge field bonus. After only a few minutes, I had reached the field. Now all I had to do, was to wait for Kaiba.
'Gorgeous, how nice to finally be alone.'
As arrogant as ever, Kaiba took out his deck. A huge field appeared, with a red and a blue side. Without further ado, he took the red side and pointed at me.
'Take your place, beautiful. It's as you said; if you win, I'll give you my activating
device, but if you lose.. Well, then you'll lose your freedom and the ring.'
'Fine by me. I've beaten you twice before, and I'll do it again.'
After twenty minutes of battling, Kaiba had only 800 life points, while I had still 1200. Kaiba still hadn't played a single Blue Eyes, and I started to get nervous. Did he find a card even stronger than that? My secret weapon hadn't been completed yet, I still needed one card.
When Kaiba drew his next card, an evil grin found it's way to his face.
'Now it's all over, beautiful. Prepare for my Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon!'
'What?'
'I can combine my three Blue Eyes with this fusion card to create the ultimate
dragon! I'm finally gonna get back what's mine, my maid.'
No way, an ultimate dragon. Now I knew for sure that Exodia would be my only chance, but I still had to weaken it somehow. If only I could buy myself another round. As my Summoned Skull vanished from the field, I thought of a way.
I had drawn the Dark Magician, Yugi's card, no way.
'I'll play the Dark Magician in defense mode, and I'll lay another card face down.'
Kaiba was thinking, not sure whether I had placed a magic card or a trap card.
'Fine, one turn. I'll place a magic card to strengthen my blue eyes till 3000 a piece,
you're done for.'
My hands were trembling while I placed my hand on my deck. I had to draw the final piece now, or I'd lose the Ring. Fear that Kaiba had restored the chip overcame me. I couldn't draw the next card, I'd maybe lose my freedom. Hoe could I have been so stupid? But if I gave up now, I'd still lose.
'Raven, don't give up and believe in your cards!
That had resulted in me being watched the whole day. First by Honda, then Joey, then Honda again, and now Yugi. He had won two battles and already had five star chips. Joey now had four, and I only had two.
