Jaden ran as hard as she could, making her heart beat like a hammer against an anvil. Her breath was coming in and out in short heavey puffs. Jaden felt like she had been taken advantage of by Bakura! Even worse, he went to Kaiba and told him what she'd said. Jerk. She shuddered at the thought of even having stepped in his limo. He's dark and evil...isn't he?

She had finally reached the game shop and to her surprise, it was locked. She opened it and let herself in, shutting the door behind her. She leaned over and slipped up the light switch on the wall next to her. Mr. Moto wasn't in the shop so she went around to search the building for him.

'Nada', she thought. She went back into the shop and looked around. On the counter by the register, sat a folded piece of paper. She walked over and picked it up.

'Thanks, Mr. Moto. But could you put it in a more obvious spot next time?' Jaden sighed and unfolded the note.

'Yugi & Jaden:

I'm sorry to leave you like this, but a great business venture has come up outside of the city that seems promising. Yugi, please look over the shop, Jaden keep the stock up and clean. Not sure when I'll be back, but next two weeks pay has been doposited in each of your accounts.

Sincerely,
Grandpa Moto'

When she finished reading, the door opened. Jaden spun round and saw Yugi walking in.

"Here Yugi, read this," she said handing him the note.

She watched him read it and when he finished he looked up at her. She smirked at him.

"K, Boss. What's the plan?" she asked.

"Huh? Oh, well, we'll keep it open till 6 pm, then we'll close. Sound good?"

Jaden nodded and headed upstairs to change.

A few customers had come in and now had left. During a pause in the store, when Jaden was cleaning...yet again...Yugi was writing down sales, she asked Yugi about Bakura without stopping her cleaning.

Yugi thought for a moment...

"What exactly do you want to know?"

"I want to know if he shares his body with another soul." she said bluntly.

"Yeah..." he began a bit uneasily. "But now he looks out for Bakura. He use to be really mean, he was a-"

"Tomb-robber 5,000 years ago?"

"Yeah! How'd you-"

"My bracelet. But it doesn't show me everything. I just wanted to know". Jaden sat up and stretched then looked at Yugi smiling.

"You were the pharoah." she said.

"No." Yugi said. "Yami was. And you're spirit..."
he trailed off questioningly.

"I don't even know if I have one."

"I sometimes think that you're two different people." said Yugi. Jaden blushed and shrugged her shoulders. Yugi smiled and looked at her sideways. A look at the clock read 5:59 pm.

"Hey Jaden, why don't you lock up."

Jaden walked over to the door, key in hand. Upon sliding her key into the lock, she stood facing another persont through the door...she debated on turning the lock or running. Yugi made a choice for her.

"Let him in Jaden." Yugi said sternly, right behind her. She took her key away and backed away from the door and to the side.

Kaiba opened the door and walked in.

'This isn't going to be good...' thought Jaden. It was then she noticed Yugi was standing in a certain way and his voice had changed. Yami was in charge but she knew that Yugi wouldn't let anything happen.

Yami looked at her sideways when he heard her thoughts. He looked up at Kaiba and spoke.

"Right here I'm saying it. No one tries anything unless its an emergency. We all got that?" Yami said. Kaiba nodded once and Jaden rolled her eyes. Both were looking at her now, impatiently.

"Oh fine." Jaden said and walked away. Yami locked up behind them and the two followed Jaden upstairs.

*Upstairs in the living room*

Each one was sitting on a seperate couch.

"You both know I don't trust either one of you. Yugi I trust." Jaden said stressing Yugi's name. Yami nodded, Kaiba sneered. Jaden looked at Kaiba.

"So is Bakura your pain informant or are you two teamed up together?" Jaden threw out. Yami's eyes widened and looked at Kaiba then Jaden sharply.

"What are you talking about Jaden?" Yami asked.

"Kaiba here told me that last night after Bakura left me, he went to go pay a visit to him. The best part was that everything I told him, Bakura in turn told Kaiba. I have even more reason now not to trust anyone." Jaden said coldly.

"Kaiba what's going on? And Jaden..." Yami said getting Jaden's gaze. "Anyone who bears a millenium item has a right to know about another bearer. If only for safety reasons."

"And Kaiba needs all the safety he can get...if I'm around." Jaden said. Kaiba narrowed his eyes at her and growled.

"Look Jaden. I held back the other day. Only because what you did for my little brother. Had you not helped him out, I doubt you'd be feeling well today." he said smugly. The worst part was, Jaden didn't doubt him. Him and Yami sitting here together was a dangerous combination.

Yami nodded in agreement with Kaiba.

Jaden stood up.

"Look guys, I'm dirty from work. I'm going to change and be right back." She didn't look at them, but walked out of the room and down the hallway to her room. She walked over to her dresser and pulled out her jeans out of her drawer from last night. A piece of paper fell out and Jaden bent over, picked it up and read it.

"Remember, you can always come and see me if anything ever goes wrong. Here's my address and number....."

Jaden closed back up the note and looked at the clock.

'Not even, six-thirty. It's not late.' Jaden thought.

She changed quickly and headed back out into the living room, as soon as Yami and Kaiba saw her they stopped talking.

"Do we really have anything we need to discuss? Kaiba, you know as much as I do. And I can only guess that you've told Yami everything now. There we go, no more mysteries." Jaden said with her arms stretched out towards them, palms up. She was symbolizing she was hiding nothing.

When they said nothing, she brought her arms down and headed over to the back door. She grabbed her bag and threw it over her back. She turned to Yami.

"I'll be back later. Kaiba's freaking me out." She turned and left the two to themselves. Yami looked over at Kaiba who was smiling.

"We both know she'll be mine in the end." Kaiba said smugly. "I was wondering if she was really alive or just a memory." Yami shook his head.

"We both know that but she doesn't. Then again, history can be re-written Kaiba." Yami said. Kaiba growled.

"I think I'm going to go and keep an eye on her. I can only guess where she's going." Kaiba stood up and walked towards the door. He wasn't surprised when Yami said he'd come too.

Jaden had finally reached the address on the paper that Bakura had given her. She was kind of surprised when she found that Bakura lived in the nicer end of town, the same area that Kaiba and his brother lived in. Jaden stood outside of the black wrought iron gate. She grabbed the bars in front of her and leaned her head onto them. The metal felt cool against her forehead and she took a sight. Her relaxation was short lived when she felt a chill go up her back. She closed her eyes and tried to focus...

He was coming, following her. She knew he'd probably take her away from where she was now. Yami was with him. That could make things worse...She was watching the two through a blurry vision. Without realizing it Yami felt her and it was almost as if he turned and was looking right at her. Not moving his eyes he spoke to Kaiba.

"She knows we're coming." Yami said. Kaiba looked at him in surprise.

A hand touched her shoulder and Jaden opened her eyes in surprise. Bakura was standing in front of her. He had reached through the gate and grabbed a hold of her shoulder. She looked into his face and knew that it was just Bakura.

"Jaden? I'm surprised to see you here. Do you want to come in?"

Jaden nodded and waited as Bakura punched in a code on a pad to the side and with a clicking noise the gate opened up. Bakura opened the gate and let her in. When she was inside he shut it and locked it again.

"I'm sorry about today. I don't know how to explain it." Bakura looked at her, sadness and confusion laced in his voice. She wasn't afraid of him. But she was worried about the other two.

"They're coming. And if I didn't think it was safe to, I wouldn't have come." Jaden said. Bakura nodded and smiled. Then frowned. He shut his eyes and when he looked back up at her, she knew that Bakura had let his other spirit come through now.

"Well my dear. I suggest we get inside and no one can come in without my permission. He walked away and Jaden followed him inside. He opened the door and let her walk in ahead of him. As she was walking in, Kaiba's limo pulled up and he and Yami got out and went up to the gate. Bakura sneered at them and shut the door behind him.

'Oh no!' thought Yami. He looked over at a chucklying Kaiba.

"Relax Yami. Soon enough she'll learn her mistake. Maybe not tonight, but I promise Yami she and her bracelet will be mine. And she won't get away again." Kaiba turned around and went back into the limo. Yami got in and followed after him. He had a feeling it would be a long time before she realized what was going to happen.

Inside Bakura's home...

Jaden was watching the two outside through a window behind some sheer curtains. When they finally got back in and left she stepped back and sighed. Bakura came into the front room and smiled. Jaden stood up and felt her bracelet begin to grow warm. She felt a peaceful easiness wash over her and she relaxed.

"Have you distinguished the enemy yet?" Bakura asked. It was Bakura, the nice and shy goofy guy.

"Everyone and anyone could be an enemy or a potential enemy." she replied. Bakura smiled back at her. Jaden changed the subject.

"Do you live here alone?" she asked. He nodded.

"Pretty much. Right now my parents are over in France and will be for another few months. They knew I was getting tired of hoping from school to school, so they bought this place as a permenant home base and they come back here during their breaks and vacations."

"Why the hell did you tell Kaiba everything I told you last night?" she spat at him. It was eating at her and she had to know.

He didn't look surprised. He smiled.
"Because he asked. I didn't realize you wanted to keep that information private. He would have found out sooner or later." Bakura said simply. The phone rang then and Bakura went to answer it. She followed him, not knowing if she could trust him.

"Hello? Oh yes she's here. No, she's fine. Kaiba and Yami ganged up on her so she came here. I have to go now. Bye" he hung up and looked at her. "Tea` called to check on you. Apparently Yugi called her and let her know what's up."

Jaden looked at him closely and she felt her bracelet warm up again. She knew then that he was lying. Bakura's eyes narrowed and he growled down at her.

"Guess who?" his dark voice growled out mockingly to her. Jaden made a dash for the front door...then stoppped. She turned around and smiled up at him then started to laugh. She knew she was going to be safe afterall.
