Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ Tira and Jonouchi's Dangerous Prank ❯ The Action ( Chapter 2 )

[ P - Pre-Teen ]

It was Saturday afternoon when the plan really got into gear. The two met just outside KaibaCorp, Tira armed with the coat, the walky-talkies, the wig, and her digital camera, just in case she caught Jonouchi doing something truly dumb. “Well, Jou, are you ready to try on your outfit?” she said cheerily. She tossed him the jacket and wig.
“I got some questions for ya,” said Jonouchi, holding up the wig. “What is this, when did it die, and what am I s'posed to wi' it?"
“You baka, that's your wig! Honestly, some days I wonder how your brain functions. Boys.”
While Jonouchi put it on, Tira began getting the walky-talkies ready. She turned around to see… Kaiba? “Jonouchi, it is creepy how good that costume is,” she said, hoping dearly it was Jonouchi.
“D'ya think so?” he responded. Tira sighed in relief, at which Jonouchi laughed. “Guess it is that good.”
“Right, right. Here, take this. It's a miniature walkie-talkie. All you have to do is put this part in your ear, and clip this part onto your collar. That way, I can here what's going on around you, and vice versa. If you need help with something, just whisper into the mike part, `kay?”
“'Kay. Here goes nutin',” Jonouchi said nervously.
“On with Operation Impersonation!” proclaimed Tira.
“Why'd ya give it such a dumb name?”
“It is not dumb, baka!” Tira insisted as she fiddled with the doorknob. The door swung open suddenly, and Tira fell over.
“Now who's the aho?” Jonouchi teased her.
“You mean baka. Remember, your accent?”
“Fine then, baka.”
“You know, maybe I shouldn't have brought you into this. You are way to good at acting this part.” Keeping up their banter, the two crept into the building.

Seto Kaiba was bored. The traffic was slow, and he had nothing to do. His homework had been a matter of seconds. Sighing he pulled up his laptop, deciding to check the security system he had installed yesterday. At the front entrance, he could see two people coming in. One was a girl wearing jeans, and the other… himself?!
“What the - what is going on here!”
His chauffer would have jumped if it hadn't been for his seatbelt. “Kaiba-san? Is something wrong?”
Kaiba froze the screen. The only girl he knew who wore jeans and her hair like that was Mimora Tira. He zoomed in the camera. The eyes of the Kaiba on the screen were not blue, but brown. It had to be Katsuya. “Turn this vehicle around, and drive back to Kaiba Corp.”
“Sir, we are almost to Tokyo. It's an hour drive back,” the chauffer said nervously. You didn't cross Kaiba-san, but surely he wouldn't just abandon the meeting?
Kaiba clicked a few things on his laptop. “There is no Sakura Lane, no Gaming Ltd., and it is doubtful there is a Najisha Konini. This is somebody's idea of a joke. And I think I know who.”
The chauffer paled. “Y-yes, sir.” He applauded whoever was playing this prank, but he would sure hate to be in their shoes.

The first thing Tira did was get hooked up to a computer. She wanted to use the security system to monitor Jonouchi. Isis alone knew what he would do once he was out contact with her.
The first thing Jonouchi did was find somebody he could ask what he needed to do. He approached a girl who looked about his own age. The name on her badge said Sakura. She spoke before him. “I update you baka na security system, collected the data you asked for, and Mokuba's home from school okay. What about you, Seto-sama?”
“Unnh… Good. Can you check my schedule for me?”
“Get a secretary or something. I'm a programmer, not administrative…” She broke off. “You just said I did something good!! Yay!”
“I meant it's good you're not slacking off,” Jonouchi said, and went to go find someone else. Somebody less enthusiastic.
As he wandered the halls, a nervous, official-looking young man approached him. “Kaiba-san! There you are! You have an important meeting with marketing!”
“Oh great,” muttered Jonouchi to himself.
“I should have known you'd just be sarcastic about it, but it's a great new product, really.”
Tira laughed as she watched on the security camera. Even if their plan didn't go well, at least she'd have something to watch. And this was even funnier than her favorite anime. She set a tape in the security machine, so she could watch it later. Or maybe mail it to Pegasus in exchange for Exodia pieces.
Jonouchi followed the young man to a room filled with men in suits. “Cross your arms, and say something sarcastic,” Tira whispered into her mouthpiece.
“So, do you actually have anything for me, or is it your usual junk?” Jonouchi said to the room at large. Tira laughed her head off in the control room.
Marketing took it calmly. After all, this was Kaiba-san they were dealing with. He was famous for his insults. One of the suits, as Jonouchi called them, put a black box on the table. “It's the packaging for a Duel Disc,” they explained. On one side it said Duel Disc, and the back had instructions.
Jonouchi poked it. “It looks like you could be selling anything from donuts to nuts and bolts if it wasn't for the writing. I wouldn't buy it, and I know other duelist wouldn't either.”
Only thing is, other duelists can read.” Tira teased him through the mike. She was enjoying this. “Still, you deserve an Oscar or something.
'Kay, I'll take that as a compliment.”
“Actually, baka, it was. But you just fouled up my follow-up!”
“Whaddever.”
Suddenly, Tira's cell phone began to ring. She sighed, and answered it in her usual fashion. “Bzzzzzt. You have reached the phone of Tira Mimora, professional prankster and duelist. Unfortunately, she does not feel like answering her -“
Yuugi's voice cut through her speech. “Tira, I know your cell does not have an answering machine. Could you just talk to me?”
“Oh, hi Yuugi! Sorry, I thought you might be - well, never mind who you might have been. You're Yuugi, not the person I thought you might have been but you weren't.”
Yuugi shook his head, but chose to ignore Tira's weirdness. “I wanted to see if you were available. I have a duel arranged in about a half-hour, and I thought you and Jonouchi might want to come.”
“Um, sorry Yuugi, but we're busy. See ya later!” Tira was about to turn off her phone when she thought of a question. “Hey, who's your duel with? Someone we know.”
“It's not too big, just one of Kaiba's monthly duels.” Yuugi heard a clunk noise on the other end. “Tira-chan, are you okay?”
Tira's cell lay on the floor, buzzing uselessly.
