Summary: Jou feels really alone and is sinking into depression. His friends all have someone they love and want to be with, and Jou just doesn't feel like he's wanted around anymore. But maybe that'll change when Mokuba turns up missing.

As Mai, Serenity, Ryou, and Yugi headed to Yugi's house, a figure watched them.

So they thought I wasn't watching them. I think I'll go to this Yugi's house as well, this could be really interesting. The figure moved from where he was hiding and crept after the four.

Meanwhile, everyone else headed off towards the abandoned house. It didn't take long to get there, however it was growing dark and some of them were getting a little nervous. Namely Jou. "I don't like this at all. Look at this place." He mumbled to as he brought up the rear of the group. "Hey why do I have to be in the back?" He asked shakily. Seto laughed quietly. "Afraid of the dark, mutt?"

"So what if I am?" Jou replied sharply. Seto didn't say anything but let himself fall to back of the group with Jou. Jou didn't know what to think about this act of kindness, but didn't have much time to think anything before Yami pointed out the house.

"Looks empty." Honda stated. "Should we even bother splitting up?"

Yami motioned to Bakura to check out the house. The tomb robber silently crept around the back, was gone for a few moments, and then came around the other side. "Completely empty." He confirmed.

The group agreed to go inside and have a look around. The door opened easily and even inside the house appeared quite empty. Yami had some of the group stay watch outside. Seto began calling for Mokuba but they heard nothing in reply. They looked everywhere for some clue. Yami and Seto were ready to give up when Yami got a frantic message from Yugi through their soul bond.

"I'm going back there right now!" Bakura informed them running off down the alley, worrying of course about Ryou.

Everyone followed him but Jou. He had thought he heard something. He went back down into the basement of the house and looked around again. He definitely was hearing something. He followed the noise until he found a cross base they hadn't seen before. He crawled up into it, which was no easy task. It was a very confined space and most of it was taken up by a boy who was bound and gagged with duct tape. "Mokuba, man am I glad to see you!" Jou said quickly taking out the butterfly knife he always kept with him and freeing Mokuba from his bonds. Mokuba then removed the tape from his mouth and asked where his brother was. "They went back to Yug's, they didn't think you were here and something's goin' on down there. Let's go." Jou said helping Mokuba to get down and stretch out his limbs.

Meanwhile, as they were walking Mai, Serenity, and Yugi soon noticed that Ryou was missing. "Damn, how could we not notice that he wasn't here?" Mai asked angrily.

"Well there's nothing we can do but go to the house and hope he gets there ok." Yugi replied sounding unsure. And so they went to the house and no sooner had they sat down than there was a knock at the door. Mai looked out the window and gasped. "Yugi he has Ryou!" Yugi tried to communicate to Yami the situation while Serenity ran to open the door. "We can't let him hurt Ryou!" she explained nearing tears.

The man came in calmly, closed the door behind him, and then stood against one of the walls, holding Ryou firmly by the arm. He was still wearing a trench coat and hat, but they could see he was quite tall. Ryou looked even paler than usual, if that was possible, and quite faint. "None of you move or speak unless I tell you to." He commanded as he drew a switchblade out of his pocket and held it to Ryou's neck. "And now we wait until the others arrive. I will get Kaiba Corp, no matter what. All the years I worked there and that bastard fires me." He ranted clenching his fist. And then he fell silent watching them. Serenity started crying and Mai moved to comfort her. "Didn't you hear me? I said don't move!" The man shouted and he drew is knife across Ryou's face. A line of blood formed immediately and started trickling down Ryou's cheek. Ryou's eyes widened with shock and Serenity screamed. The man threw Ryou and was moving towards Serenity when the door burst open and an extremely pissed off Bakura strode in.

He said nothing but his ring glowed with a bright light that filled the room and everyone winced. When they opened their eyes the man lay dead on the floor and Bakura knelt over Ryou stemming the flow of blood with his shirt.

The door burst open again and everyone else ran in. They took in the scene before them and fell silent. Mai was holding a crying Serenity, Bakura a bleeding Ryou, and a man lay dead on the floor. Yugi ran into Yami's arms and quickly told them what had happened.

"That's all great, but where the hell IS MOKUBA!" Seto burst. Everyone fell silent again.

Just then the door was thrown open again and Mokuba ran in and threw himself at Seto. Jou came in behind him asking, "Whoa, what happened here?" Yami quickly filled him in as Mokuba told the group his story.

"It was awful Seto, he pulled up at my friend's in a limousine and we thought it was you so I got in, and he drove away, and I couldn't get out! And he tied me up and put me in that horrible cross base and there were spiders in there Seto!" Mokuba babbled.

"Shh, it's okay now Mokuba, you're here with us now." Seto soothed Mokuba while giving Jou a strange look. Jou met his gaze and gave him a sort of wry smile before turning away.

"So who was this guy anyways?" Mai asked Seto curiously.

Seto replied still staring at Jou, "He used to work for me. I fired him for harassing some of his coworkers. Not a pleasant character. What did you do to him Bakura?"

"Only sent his soul to the shadow realm for eternity!" Bakura stated vehemently still trying to help Ryou.

"Good." Seto responded, "and now I think Mokuba needs to get home and go to sleep. Why don't you come with us mutt, you are the one that saved Mokuba, I'm sure he wants to be with you."

"Yeah, please come Jou!" Mokuba said throwing his arms around Jou.

"Sure I will kiddo." Jou agreed ruffling Mokuba's hair. "You gonna be all right Serenity?" he asked before walking out. "I'm fine Jou, go ahead", she said, calmer now that she was in her lover's arms.

Marik, Malik, Bakura, and Ryou left shortly after, Ryou's bleeding having stopped. They would all go to Ryou's house, which was closest to Yugi's. Otogi, Honda, Serenity, and Mai would stay the night; it was getting really late.
