Mistress: Here we are at Chapter 3! You finally get to meet Yugi again! YAY! Heh.

 

 

Chapter 3: Yugi

 

A million thoughts were racing through Yami's head. He could only watch as `Yugi's' lips moved as he talked but he couldn't hear anything. He was too stunned. He glanced around quickly. His friends seemed shocked too…all but Ryou and Bakura…he made a mental note to talk to them later. He snapped back to reality as the teacher called attention.

 

“I know a new student is a lot of commotion but let's get focused again shall we? Now in 1980….”

 

The teacher's voice droned out again as Yami watched `Yugi' walk to an empty seat by the window. `Yugi' glanced around the room his eyes falling on Yami. `Yugi' smiled and turned back to the teacher, `he's not too shabby looking' Yugi thought.

 

“Wasn't that fun…”

 

`Yes…very entertaining,' Bakura remarked sarcastically.

 

“Meh, it'll get better! Oh we have to play matchmaker! Besides didn't you notice the two of them sharedeye contact!”

 

`Yep! And he smiled at Yami,' Ryou added excitedly.

 

`You two are hopeless romantics,' Bakura said as he played with his pencil.

 

`No we're hopeful romantics!' Ryou and Gabriel responded at the same time.

 

`Tch, I'm not, and thank the heavens for that,' Bakura said.

 

“Aww, it's nothing to be ashamed off, some of the things you did for Ry-chan were very romantic. Every person would love to be pampered like that.”

 

Bakura and Ryou both blushed, Bakura recovering first and glancing around to make sure no one noticed.

 

`YOU WATCH US?!' Bakura demanded harshly.

 

Gabriel, who was floating behind Ryou raised a hand to cover her giggle.

 

“You two are so cute! Beside isn't it a mother's job to watch over her child.”

 

`Feh, I can't believe you watch us….' Bakura remarked looking at her, maybe Heaven wasn't such as “pure” place after all.

 

“Heh, well at least I stay at my house unlike some mother angels who actually come down to earth. Mother Angels who have unfinished business are allowed rare passage but they can't be felt, heard, or sensed. Oh! Before I forget Amane sends her regards. And to Bakura she told me to tell you that if you ever make Ryou sad again she'd “kick your ass in a supernatural way”.”

 

Ryou smiled softly, `That's Amane for you, but she shouldn't worry. Everything's fine now.'

 

“Ryou and Bakura! Would you mind actually paying attention to the class!?” the teacher demanded ending their conversation.

 

“What class?” Bakura asked as he glanced at the clock.

 

“This cla-”

 

The bell's loud ring drowned out the rest of his sentence and the students began to snicker. Yugi on the other side of the room grinned. The class began to filter out of the room and before they knew it Ryou and Bakura had lost sight of both Yugi and Yami.

 

Out in the hall Yami looked around desperately to spot his hikari. He noticed a head of spiky hair traveling in the opposite direction of his classroom and began to follow it. As he finally came close he tapped the boy on the shoulder. `

 

“Yugi!?”

 

The boy turned around and looked at him weird.

 

“Hey…and I'm not Yugi, if you were listening when I introduced myself you'd know my name was Nakatsu but Yugi has a nice ring to it,” the boy said with a grin.

 

Yami hid his shock. He didn't remember him…of course. He should've known that if Yugi came back he wouldn't share anything of his past life except looks. Yami smiled apologetically.

 

“Sorry, forgot sorta zoned out,” Yami said.

 

Nakatsu laughed and shook his head, “No worries, that class does seem a little boring. If it's easier for you, you can call me Yugi.”

 

The class bell rang and `Yugi' smiled, “before I go what your name would be?”

 

Yugi began to walk backwards towards his classroom.

 

“It's Yami.”

 

“Nice to meet you Yami,” he said as he disappeared into a classroom.

 

Yami stood as other students hurried to their classrooms. Maybe this was his second chance…his chance to make things right. With renewed hope Yami turned back and began to walk towards his classroom.

Mistress: Well there you have it, chapter 3, Yugi has been re-introduced. And if you think his personality is slightly different well, that's because it is. The things that happen to us in life shape us so of course seeing as he was “reborn” he would have a different past.
