Chapter 2: Malik, meet Marik
Malik weaved his way through the maze of trees. Behind him, he could hear the guy chasing him. Malik finally found himself in the middle of the street. Not a car could be seen, either.
'This is Friday night for crying out loud! Where is everyone!' Malik though, not in a very good mood. Malik spotted an old, abandoned warehouse across the street.
'Perfect' he thought. Looking both ways for non exsisting cars, he dashed into the warehouse and barred the door. Above him, Marik jumped onto the roof. Malik slowly backed up against the wall. He could see the door starting to give. Looking around, he saw a baseball bat.
'Yay! A weapon'. Quickly grabbing it, he got into a batting position. He failed to notice that Marik had slipped in through the sun roof. Just then, the door busted open.
"Alright kid, this is the end of the line. You ARE coming with me." the guy said, advancing slowly towards Malik.
"Think again, stupid!" Malik replied, swinging the bat with all his might. It connected with the guy's side. Malik heard a few rib bones break, but that was it. The guy snarled.
"Kid, that's the last mistake you'll ever make. The master wants you alive, not conscious or unharmed." The guy's face started to change while he said this. Malik watched in horror, his lavender eyes widening some. After the guy had finished transforming, Malik saw he was a...vampire?! Malik stifled a scream and swung the bat again. This time though, the guy was ready. He dodged and knocked the bat out of Malik's hands.
'Oh my Ra, this can't be happening' Malik thought, now panicked.
"Now, we can do this the easy way or the hard way. You choose." the guy said.
"What's the difference?" Malik asked, stalling for time.
"Well, the easy way is you come quietly and without a fight. Or, you can take the hard way and keep up this...foolish defense, and then I can knock you out." the guy explained. Then he smirked. "Though hopefully, you'll keep up this foolish defense." he added. Malik narrowed his eyes.
"Well, if those are the choices, I think I'll choose...to run!" That said, Malik made a run for the front door. The guy, however, managed to get there first. He grabbed Malik's wrist tightly.
"AHHHH! No, let me GO!" Malik said, struggling to get away.
"Not a chance." the vampire replied, tightning his hold. A dark shadow then appeared behind the vampire.
"Now, didn't your mother teach you any manners? Tsk Tsk. It's rude to force someone to do something against their will." the shadow scolded the guy. And before Malik's eyes, the guy exploded into dust. This time Malik did scream and he ran to where the bat layed at. Grabbing it, he faced Marik.
"Now, now. Lets not get violent." Marik said, stepping into the moonlight. Malik was, to say the least, shocked. This man looked just like him, only Marik's eyes were a deeper purple and his sandy colored hair was in spikes. Malik ran at him with the bat and tried to hit him. Marik just grabbed the bat and yanked it away.
"Look, lets go with this. My name is Marik. My job is to protect you from the vampires and their master," Marik explained. Malik still kept his guard up.
'There's something...very familar..about Marik' Malik thought. 'Like I knew him from somewhere'
"So, what's your name?" Marik asked. Malik looked at him suspiciously.
"Malik." Marik shook his head.
'Malik! I know that name! I've seen him...I just don't remember where' Marik thought to himself. "Anyway, lets get out of here." Marik continued, motioning for Malik to follow.
"Forget it!" Malik screamed, "I've HAD it with you weirdos!" Marik shifted his eyes, bored. Then he grabbed Malik around his waist. Throwing Malik over his shoulder, Marik started to walk out of the warehouse.
"PUT ME DOWN! RIGHT NOW!!" Malik screamed at Marik.
"Forget it. I have to take you with me to find Bakura and Yami. They are currently following your friends." Malik looked up.
"You mean, they know where Yugi and Ryou are at?" Malik asked, hopeful. Marik nodded and place Malik down.
"Okay, lets go find the idiots and your friends," Marik said, smiling. Malik nodded and together they both started down the street.
Me: Well, there you go..Marik and Malik meet. Hope you enjoyed this chapter!
