Me: I'm back with chapter 3! Go me *does a happy dance*

Yami Kanna: *slowly starts to back away*

Me: Anyway, I have my muse with me, give it up for Sailor Mercury!

Sailor Mercury: Hello

Me: I would have got the yu gi oh gang, but other authors are using them. So for the rest of fanfic, I'll have one sailor scout help me every chapter : ) So, go ahead and do the disclaimer, Sailor Mercury.

Chapter 3: Yugi, meet Yami

 

Yugi sprinted down the alley, his shoes thudding against the pavement.

'Please let me lose him,' he prayed. He skidded to a stop when he came to an intersection. He took the narrow alley, hoping the guy wouldn't follow him. No such luck. Yugi could here the guy behind him. This alley was a bad choice for it came to a dead end.

"Crap," Yugi muttered. To the left of him, he saw a ladder leading up to a balcony.

"Got you now!" Yugi heard the vampire say. Yugi jumped up a far as he could and grabbed a rung of the ladder. He quickly clambered up onto the balcony. Yugi, finding an open window, slipped in finding himself in an apartment building. Seeing he was in an abandoned room, he hurried to the door and opened it. Stepping into the dim hallway, all Yugi could see was doors. Straight ahead, though, was a staircase. But it was to far for Yugi to make it. So he ran into the room across from the one he left. The vampire was already there, having gone through a different window. Yugi came to a halt and the guy grabbed Yugi's arm. Under them, they could hear the floor boards creaking. The guy's face started to change and Yugi watched with horror written all over his face. After the transformation was over, Yugi was staring into the eyes of a vampire. He shut his amythest eyes and screamed. Yami, who was right below him, heard it and looked up. All of a sudden, the floor cracked and Yugi fell through. Yami looked at this in shock, then dove and caught him. The vampire, conviently, fell on a broken chair and exploded. Yugi slowly opened his eyes and met crimson eyes.

"Are you alright?" Yami asked softly, not wanting to scare him. Yugi could only nod.

'I know this person. I've seen those eyes before' Yugi thought. Little did he know, Yami was thinking along those same lines.

"Come on," Yami said, helping Yugi up.

"So, what's your name?" Yugi asked.

"Yami. Yours?"

"Yugi." Yami nodded and they got out of the building and found a bench. Both sat down.

"So, why were you and your friends in the park?" Yami asked. Yugi looked at him in shock. How did he know?!

"We were going to run away. But how did you know we were at the park?" Yugi asked. Yami chuckled.

"Well, I was in the tree above you with Marik and Bakura. That's how I knew where you were at. I sent Marik and Bakura to follow your friends." Yami explained. Yami saw the fearful look on Yugi's face. "Don't worry. They won't hurt them." Yami added. Yugi shook his head hard, golden bangs flying.

"No, I'm worried about YOUR friends, not mine. Malik with fight to no end and Ryou..." Yugi tapered off. Yami looked at him, curious. Yugi took a deep breath and continued. "Ryou will freak OUT and start running. Or worse, he'll freeze up. It's a habit." Yugi finished. Yami sat back, digesting this information. Bakura has a MEAN temper and snapped at everyone.

'Oh Ra Bakura, don't lose your temper' Yami prayed as if Bakura could hear him. He felt Yugi shaking him.

"Are you okay?" Yugi asked. Yami nodded and stood up. Yami grabbed Yugi's wrist lightly and started walking.

"So, why were you going to run away?" Yami asked, not looking at Yugi. Yugi shrugged.

"Well, for me it was because my grandpa and mom are overprotective. For Malik, everyone at his home ignores him, except his older sister Ishizu, but she's in Egypt." Yugi explained.

"What about Ryou?" Yami asked, still not looking at Yugi.

"Well, I'm not sure and neither is Malik, but we think Ryou's dad abuses him." Yami did look at Yugi this time in shock.

"Oh." was all Yami could say. 'Please don't lose your temper' Yami prayed harder.

"So, what are you?" Yugi asked, breaking Yami out of his thoughts. Yami looked down at him and smiled.

"I'm your protector from vampires and the master. They want you and your friends for some reason. Other then that, I go around destroying vampires." Yami explained. Yugi looked at him, perplexed.

"Don't want to know," he said. Yami laughed.

"It is very complicated, " Yami said.

"That's why I don't want to know," Yugi said, looking up at him with a smile. Yami laughed again and shook his head.
