Chapter Two

The entire week proved to be amusing, with Yami leading Seto around with a light kiss here or there, or a passionate one to leave him standing in one spot until Bakura or Malik yanked him out of it.

By the time Friday had rolled around, Yugi was obviously into the Christmas spirit, deciding that even though it clashed, Yami WOULD wear a Santa hat. He plopped it onto his head with a silly grin then perched himself next to him on a bench, humming a tune lightly and waving jauntily to Malik and Bakura as they walked in together toward them. He had no problem with the fact they were Seto's friends, and had in fact parted on good terms with the billionaire. Yugi obviously didn't care that Japan wasn't as Christmas-y as other places, and proved his point by starting a Christmas carol.

"Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful, and since we've no place to go, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!" Though his voice was a bit high-pitched, he sounded cute as could be. /You sing Yami/

Yami continued for him, the others still unknowing as to their mental connection. "It doesn't show signs of stopping, and I've bought some corn for popping, the lights are turned way down low, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! When we finally kiss goodnight," He looked up with a small smile, seeing Seto finally enter the yard and getting up himself to walk over, dropping a light kiss on the other boy's lips and continuing the song as he walked back. "How I'll hate going out in the storm, but if you'll really hold me tight, all the way home I'll be warm."

Seto stood there blinking for a moment before smiling himself and going over to finish the last tidbit himself. "The fire is slowly dying, and, my dear, we're still goodbye-ing, but as long as you love me so, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! …I'll see you guys in class," he said with a smile, waving over his shoulder as he headed inside.

/Maybe I should go out with him/ Yami told himself quietly, watching as the brunette disappeared into the double doors. "See you at lunch ... `touto." He waved to the others as he walked inside after him, the smallest of frowns on his face.

Malik's lips quirked up on one side and he nudged Bakura in the side. "He's fallen hard for sure… think that miracle will happen?"

"It's possible. But don't hold out too much hope. Remember what happened last time?"

"I know I know…" Malik let out a huffy sigh.

Yami caught up to Seto as the other boy was putting his coat into his locker, catching the slight smile before it disappeared altogether. In replacement was a questioning look. "I wanted to know if you would go out with me sometime."

Seto was dumbstruck. HE was being asked out. That never happened either. He vaguely heard the other say something like 'I thought not, see ya' before he turned to walk away and quickly reached out to catch his wrist. "I didn't say no..it's just...I never get asked out." He gave the other boy a sheepish smile. "I'm usually the one asking..but I would love to.

"When is a good time for you?" Yami's voice held an almost no-nonsense tone, as if he couldn't really care less about the timing.

"Well...I have to help Mokuba with a project tonight..something big..but tomorrow is good." He smiled a bit to Yami, a bit hesitant for once in his life. A week and he was practically head over heels for a guy... it was practically impossible to believe.

"Tomorrow it is then..I'll pick you up around 7."

"Seven...I'll be waiting." Seto offered the other boy a rare smile before watching him walk away and leaning against the lockers with a happy sigh. Maybe being the one asked wasn't so bad.

The day passed for him in an almost dreamy splendor; even Mokuba's chiding while he was helping with his homework couldn't penetrate the happy daze he was in. The next day was much the same, even though as seven 'o clock grew closer, he grew more nervous. He'd called over Malik's sister to watch Mokuba, knowing she would do just fine with him. Of course, he couldn't say the same with himself concerning Yami. He had never asked where they were going so he dressed as casually as he could but nice enough to go to somewhere dressy if need be. That dress included a silk black shirt with a silver tie waiting beside the door with a jacket in case he wanted to grab them and a pair of black slacks. When the doorbell rang he answered somewhat hesitantly. "Hi Yami.."

"Hello Seto..." Yami's eyes ran over the other's appearance appraisingly. "I hope those are good club shoes..." he murmured absently. He was wearing leather again himself, black as well. He knew he looked good, especially if the way Yugi had been looking at him was any indication. Leather just fit him he supposed. "Shall we go?" He offered an elegant hand to the other boy, surprised a bit when it was actually taken.

"Hai, let's." Seto let himself be lead to a fairly nice car, the kind most people drove normally. A Buick. Not his favorite style of car, but then again, when you rode around in a limo, you weren't really accustomed to riding in normal cars for daily activity. He got into the passenger side silently, idly wondering how this date would go off.
