' Amy Rose bobbed her head to the sound of her music through her headphones as she walked to school one September morning. It was the third week of school. It was her senior year. Thank god. She really didn't know how much more of school she could stand. Ok, so summer vacation just ended. But she lived in China for crying out loud! All year round was summer here!

'" Come my way...kono yami no hotori...!" She sang softly to the song playing in her disc-man. It was her Inuyasha soundtrack playing `Come'. It was her favorite song. It was the complete opposite to her best friend, Rei Aiyanamei's favorite song. `Evolution' by Ayumi Hamasaki. But the two were totally inseparable. Well, ok, they argued sometimes over who spends the most time with their other best friend, Duke Devlin. But come on! There is two of them and one of him. Hello! Wakie wakie!

'The three of them grew up together along with a few other brats that Amy didn't feel like thinking about. Especially one in particular…argh! Stupid, white-haired, chocolate-eyed, calmly psycho demon spawn from hell! With that damn stupid face of his and stufff or that stupid white and blue stripped shirt he always wore! And the fact the he was extremely pale!! Argh! Why was she thinking about him!?! She HATED him!! Correction, they hated each other. Since the day that they met…which was at birth.

'Their parents were disgustingly close friends, which meant on many occasions they had to act polite to one another. But as soon as they were out of ear shot they were at each other's throats!

'Amy chuckled evilly as she thought about the time where she had beat the crap right out of him! Haha! But then pouted when she next thought about how he had paid her back quite nicely by tying her to a tree down the street and leaving her there for hours on end! They had been 9 years old. Rei had found her and laughed hysterically for about five minutes before finally setting her free.

Bakura Ryou still threatened to this day to tie her to a tree again if she didn't co-operate. Ugh. Like HE ever co-operated! He was just as bad as she was and he started half the battles!

'Amy snapped back to reality when someone tapped her on the shoulder. Startled, she turned her ruby red eyes on whoever it was. Malik Ishtar.

'"No wonder why your def if you listen to your music THAT loud." A voice mocked.

'She whipped her head to her other side to find Bakura Ryou smirking down at her. She rolled her eyes and shoved him away.

'"What do you want, fucker?" She sneered.

'"Hey! Come on now! Play nice, there's a girl." Marik snickered.

'"Stop talking to me like I'm a dog, Ishtar. If you've forgotten, you are the one that has weird enormus spikey your hair that looks like it could poke someone's eye out!"

'Marik just laughed and patted her nicely on the head. "Is that any way to talk to an old friend?"

'Amy snorted. Why couldn't they go back to where ever they crawled out from? She nearly sighed in relief when their school appeared in front of them.

'"We thought that it would be a good idea to baby-sit you on your way to school. We wouldn't want the violent baby to get into trouble now would we?" Bakura smirked.

'"Get bent you moronic ass wipe!"

'Amy stuck her nose up in the air and quickly left the snickering pair into the school. She sighed as soon as she was far away from them and walked at a slow pace to her locker. Why did she get her locker on third floor again?

'"Hey! You finally made it. `bout time!" Rei called from up ahead.

'"I ran into Dumb and Dumbass the wonder brothers from hell." Amy groaned.

'Rei chuckled and patted her friend on the back in mock sympathy. "I feel for you, really. I mean, it's every day that I am bothered by two good looking guys!"

'Amy made choking noises and Rei shoved her playfully. "Grow up brat!"

'"Che."

'"Ladies, I would advise you to quickly gather whatever it is that you'll need for my class. The bell is going to ring and I do not tolerate tardiness." Mr. Taka stated as he stopped next to the two girls and peered over at them.

'"Yes Mr. Taka." They both replied, hiding a smile.

'With a quick nod the teacher continued his way down the hall until he reached his classroom.

'"Shall we get our things?"

'"Yes, we shall." Amy mocked politeness.

'Rei bowed and giggled before looping her arm with Amy's.

' Rei glanced out of the corner of her eye at Marik Ishtar who sat two seats over from herself. For as long as she could remember she had the biggest crush on him. She envied the fact that he bugged her best friend 24/7 with his own best friend Bakura. Of course he did pay her attention but to her it seemed like very little. She was kind of glad that he didn't harass her in a way because he has been known to say some really hurtful things to others. But the cruel mocking of the spikey headed boy was one of the reasons he attracted her attention to begin with. She often found herself gazing at the mouth that aloud such snide remarks to pass between very kissable lips.

'Rei mentally shook her head as if to clear her thoughts. If she kept thinking these thoughts so deeply she was going to be out right staring at him and then he would finally know her secret. That wasn't the plan. Especially since she had heard a rumor that he had been seen different times with one of the prissy bitch cheerleaders, Angie Tysick. Rei groaned inwardly in agony as she thought of the blond violet-eyed bitch of perfection. Why all the guys wanted that was beyond her. She seemed so uptight and unapproachable most of the time.

'"Miss Aiyanamei, care to share your thoughts with the rest of the class? Clearly I'm too boring for your piece of mind." Mr. Taka grouched.

'"Huh? Sorry, what?"

'The class snickered as the teacher looked upon Rei with a stern look. "If you're not going to be with me throughout the class then can I suggest you take your daydreaming elsewhere?"

'"No. Sorry Mr. Taka." Rei mumbled.

'"Very well, pay attention."

'As soon as the teacher's back was turned Rei felt an elbow nudge her side.

'"What were you daydreaming about? You were so far gone that Mr. Crabby was talking to you for five minutes before you snapped out of it!" Amy whispered with a knowing grin.

'Rei blushed and looked down at the many bracelets that graced her wrists.

'She heard a chuckle come from her best friend and sent her a death glare before ignoring her.

' English seemed to breeze by along with Science. Soon the bell rang for lunchtime and then there Amy was, like every other day moaning and groaning about the slop they served for lunch.

'"Couldn't they ever make something decent? I mean, this looks like something my dog threw up?" She moaned as she spooned up a blob of god knows what.

'"Thanks, I completely lost my appetite after that remark!" Mai Valentine, a sophomore, stated as she put her own utensil down.

'"I don't know how you guys can eat that crap, just pack a lunch like I do." Rei said.

'"Pack a lunch? You pack the fridge!" Tristin smirked as he eyed all the food that she took out of her back.

'"For your information, this thing sitting next to mean moans and groans about the food here and never eats it yet never brings money for anything else or packs a lunch. She eats mine instead so I pack enough to feed her as well, thank you!" Rei growled.

'"Heh. You love me!" Amy exclaimed, throwing her arms around her best friend.

'"Yeah, unfortunately."

'"Where's the love for me?" A smooth deep voice asked from behind them.

'Both girls turned around with wide smiles on their faces.

'"DUKE! You joining us for lunch?" The two exclaimed at the same time.

'Amy looked at her best friend as Rei looked back at her. They burst into a fit of giggles before breathing deeply and scooting away from one another to let Duke sit down.

'"So what did you bring for lunch today?" Duke asked.

'"Huh?! No! It's mine! All mine! Get away you losers! You can't have it!" Rei exclaimed as she hovered over the goodies with a psycho smiled plastered from ear to ear.

'Everyone laughed at the display and shook their heads.

'"Come on! Fork over and let me mow down!" Amy whined.

'"Here, mow down then." Bakura said as he tossed his trash in front of her as he walked by.

'Amy stared down at his lunch garbage before snatching it up and whipping it back at him. "What do I look like?! A damn garbage disposal?!"

'"Do you really need to ask?" Bakura returned. He looked her slowly up and down, pretended to think for a moment and then nodded his head. "Yes, you do look like one actually."

'"Why you-"

'Before Amy could pounce Duke grabbed her around the waist and hauled her back into her seat.

'"Why do you let him get to you like that?"

'She didn't answer. She just stared daggers in Bakura's direction. This so isn't over Bakura!!
