Rei walked slowly down the hall after school. Amy had to stay after school in Art because she didn't do her weekly drawing that they had to do every year in Art. She wasn't aloud to leave until she was done.

Her raspberry eyes stared down at her black high-heel shoes. She rolled her eyes and growled slightly under her breath as her raven waist length hair swung into her face. She reached into her school bag side pocket and pulled out her red head-band and began to tightly wrap it over her forhead.

She just finished tying it in place on her head when a finger traced lightly up the back of her bare neck, sending a pleasant chill down her spine.

She inhaled sharply and whipped around to see who had done that. Her eyes widened in surprise and a slight blush formed on her cheeks when she found Malik standing behind her with a smirk. She quickly took in his appearance before her raspberry eyes landed on his lavendar ones. He was wearing a snug black button down shirt with a white vest over top. Knee length cut-offs and a pair of black Nike flip-flops followed this.

"Where's your other half?" Malik asked as he moved up to stand next to her.

"She has to stay after school for Art. Where's your other half?" Reii replied.

Malik shrugged. "Probably off snogging some girl."

Rei rolled her eyes. She really wouldn't be too surprised if he was telling the truth. Both boys knew that they were good looking and sometimes like playing with girls' minds. But, once again, the fact that Malik knew he was good looking just seemed to make him more appealing to her.

She nearly shook her head and laughed at that thought. Why oh why was she attracted to a conceited, sometimes pig-headed, brat?

"What's the hidden smile for?" He asked. "You know something I don't?"

"Uh, no." She replied quickly.

Malik studied her for a minute before raising an eyebrow. "I think you're lying." He sang.

"No. I'm not." She replied with a stubborn tilt of her chin.

"Yes, you are. Tell me. Now." He demanded, taking a step closer.

Rei felt her heart beat faster at how close he was getting to her. Her body filled with an adrenaline of excitement. She was suddenly feeling giddy and a bit teasing.

"Or you'll…what?" She purred.

Was that husky timber really her voice? Was she seriously sort of flirting with him?!

"Well, a suitable punishment can be arranged….tell me." He replied with a sly smile.

She shook her head no and took a step back as he took another step closer.

"Alright, fine. Don't tell me then." He said with a careless shrug.

"Well, good." Rei nodded before yelping in surprise as he pushed her up against the lockers and cornered her there with his hands on either side of her head.

He watched her as a slow smirk formed on his mouth. "I'm curious to know what you were thinking about when I was standing next to you."

"Why? Pissed that a girl in your presence was thinking of other things besides you?"

Malik thought for a second before giving her a killer lopsided grin. "Maybe. But if don't tell me what you were thinking about then I might have to take certain measures."

"What kind of measures?" She asked with a raised eyebrow. Her heart was beating so loud now she figured that he must be able to hear it!

"Do you want a demonstration?" He asked as he leaned closer.

Rei's mouth went dry as she stared into his gorgeous eyes. Was he going to kiss her? Why else would he be leaning in this close? Was this really happening?

Those thoughts kept racing through her mind as she slipped her pink tongue out of her mouth and absently wet her now dry lips.

Malik's gaze focused on her movement before snapping his attention back to her purple-pink eyes. His own lavendar ones visibly darkened from her action and he leaned in slightly closer still.

"Well?" He asked.

"Only if you really want to." Rei replied.

Malik's eyes flickered down to her mouth again as he leaned in closer still. They were now inches apart. She could feel his hot breath mingling with her own. But the chemistry that seemed to be riding suddenly halted when there was a call from down the hall.

"Malik! There you are!" Someone giggled.

Malik drew in a deep breath before moving away from Rei.

Rei nearly sighed in exasperation at the timing of the bimbo wad captain. Angie Tysick. The girl's name even made her want to puke!

"Hey, man. Ready to jet?" Kai asked as he came down the hall after the pretty blond.

"Yeah, let's roll." Malik replied, stuffing his hands into his pocket. "I thought Joey was hitch' in with us?"

"He is. He's outside waiting with Yami." Bakura replied.

"Come on guys! Let's go! I want to swim!" Angie exclaimed with an ultra happy smile on her face. She looped her arm with Malik's and Bakura's and guided them both down the hall.

Rei seethed with jealousy as she watched the blond tick practically draper herself all over Malik.

"Yeah, yeah, don't worry, it'll be done. Thanks Mr. Shields!" Amy called as she rushed out of the Art classroom.

If she ran she might be able to catch up to Rei before she drives out of here! She thought as she raced through the halls until she reached her locker. She quickly grabbed everything that she needed and ran down to the first floor. She saw Rei trudging reluctantly towards the front doors.

"Hey!"

Rei turned around and smiled at her as she raced up the hallway. "What's going on? Mr. Shields let you out early?"

Amy smirked and held up her artwork. "Yeah, I convinced him to let me finish it at home."

Rei shook her head and chuckled.

"So, what was with the droopy walk you had goin on there a minute ago?"

"Huh? Oh…nothing really." Rei sighed.

"No, no. Tell me."

"Well, you wouldn't believe what just took place here a few minutes ago!" Rei started excitedly.

Amy laughed at her friend's enthusiasm and encouraged her to continue. "What?"

She listened with excitement, only for Rei's benefit, as Rei recited the story of what happened between herself and Malik Ishtar.

She was glad for the first part and then groaned and rolled her eyes in annoyance as soon as Angie Tysick's name entered the story.

"That sucks! I can't stand that beach Barbie dick pistol! I bet if she knew that you had a thing for Ishtar she'd rub it in your face hardcore!" Amy stated as she scrunched up her nose in distaste.

Rei nodded her agreement and looked to the floor. "Well, wanna get going? I'll drive ya."

"Great! I was hoping you would!"

The two girls walked out the front of the school and around the back to the school's parking lot.

"You know, this school is seriously big enough. Why don't they put a back entrance?!" Rei grumbled as they climbed into her white Honda S 2000.

"I often wonder that too. I mean, why is there only one entrance to this stupid school? It's a four story building!"

Rei sighed and started up the car just as someone opened the back door and jumped in.

Rei and Amy sweat-dropped as they looked at one another, then they looked to see who was in the car with them.

"Duke! Man, you have a habit of popping up everywhere!" Amy laughed as she shook her head him.

He gave them both a lopsided smile and scooted to the middle so he could lean into the front. "What are you two doing right now?"

"Nothing. Going home I guess." Rei replied with a shrug.

"Want to come over and use the pool?" He asked.

"Who's all gonna be there?" Amy asked, not for one second fooled.

Duke chuckled. "What? Don't trust me? You don't really think that I would invited Bakura over and then you guys would you?"

Rei snorted. "Listen here butt wipe! You did that to us last time!"

Duke snorted right back. "Like that bothered YOU any! I believe Malik was there!"

Rei blushed and looked away.

"Girl! You have got to get mean!" Amy laughed.

"I AM mean!" Rei protested.

It was Amys turn to snort. "Please!"

"Whatever! Who's gonna be there?"

"Alright, just us three." He replied innocently.

Amy stared hard at the raven haired boy. "You're lying. Who?"

"I swear-"

"Bullshit! I just heard bitch of perfection talking about swimming with Malik and Bakura!" Rei snorted.

"Ahh, so now Ishtar is on a first name bases to you eh?" Duke teased as he winked at Amy.

"Oh shut your hole! Why must you constantly bug me about him?!" Rei exclaimed.

"Because you get riled up so easily over it!" Duke smirked. "Can we go or are you gonna sit in reverse for the rest of the afternoon?"

"Fine."

They left the school with Amy still bugging. "Come on."

"Alright, fine. Bakura and a couple of his friends will be there." Duke admitted after a few minutes.

"Doesn't the walking mock mutt have his own pool?" Amy grumbled in annoyance.

"Come on! He's not that bad!" Duke exclaimed.

"WHAT?! He indicated that I was a freakin garbage disposal at lunch today!"

"Oh please! Like you haven't made up a few names for him as well! Walking mock mutt! There's one right there!" Duke argued.

"Whose side are you on?!" Rei asked as she glanced at him through her rearview mirror.

"Your side. But they are my friends too you know."

"Whatever. Can't choose your friends for you now can we?" Amy grumbled.

Duke sighed and rolled his eyes. "Look, it's hot out. You two wanna come or what?"

Amy looked at her best friend who was busy nibbling on her bottom lip as she drove. "Wanna go? I can always just ignore him…as usual. I mean, I've had lots of practice when our families get together."

"If you really want to..."

"Alright. Let's do it-ugh! Speaking of our families getting together! Mrs. Ryou is having a barbeque this Saturday." Amy groaned.

"Don't go." Duke said with a shrug.

"Right. My parents force me to go. They always say: `Seera loves it when you come over and keep her son company.' Yuck, yuck, yuck!"

Duke and Rei laughed at the disgusted face Amy put on.

"Are you two ever going to grow up?" Duke asked.

"Who?" Amy asked innocently.

"You and Bakura! You have been fighting for years! Oh sorry! I mean, since birth!" Duke exclaimed, rolling his eyes. "Can you even remember the reason why you hate each other in the first place?"

"Actually, no. But it doesn't matter anyway! He's a white-headed, albino dork, rabble-rouser sent through time to ruin my life!"

Duke and Rei laughed and shook their heads. "Is it a never ending story with all the names?" Rei asked.

"Damn straight! I'll never have anything good to say about him." Amy smirked.

"One would think that you actually sit down and think up names for him." Duke grinned.

"Yeah, that's it. That's what I do. You have discovered my secret!"
