For this fic a 9 x9 board is being used . Bottom row of board is A- J and left side of board 1-9. Hope you enjoy this chapter."
Basic Rules of Go.
Stones that can be removed with one more move are said to be in "Atari".
Double Atari
Escape-Stones can Escape if the same color is placed next to it.
Captured- Stone that is surrounded by the opposite color is captured and removed from the board.
Prisoner-Stone that is captured and counts as one point.
Dan- Top Status of Go Players- Dan 1 lowest Dan higher Dan means stronger player.
Kyu-the smaller the Kyu rank the stronger the player.
30 Kyu is the lowest amateur rank ( usually)
Board size 19 x 19 , ( 9 x9 is used for beginners)
"Show them a true gamers soul," Hikaru whispered in Yami's ear as he placed his hands gently on Yami's shoulders.
Cupping Yami's check to see Yami's face Hikaru gently pressed his lips to Yami's cheek. " A kiss for luck, now make us proud," Hikaru whispered looking towards Akira who nodded before taking the seat to the left of Yami.
"Thank you, "Yami whispered back a slight blush tinting his cheeks.
"Let this Game began, " the referee said as Hajime and Hideki took their seats next to Trey.
Yami and Trey looked at each other and shouted , "Go," at the same time.
Yami placed his hand in the bowl of black go stones and gracefuly pulled one out the shiny stone laying between his middle and index finger.before gently placing it on D5 of the board.
Trey then took a white stone from his bowl and places it on F5 of the board. "It's your move Yami," Trey said.
After picking up another stone, Yami places it on D7 of the board. After a few minutes of contemplation Trey places his next stone on F3 of the board.
"You won't win me you know that, " Trey said as he looked Yami straight in the eye.
"We will see about that," Yami said before placing his next stone on D5 thus securing the bottom left area of the board. Countering with a move to F7 Trey began to smirk as he was now occuping the right side of the board. Without saying a word Yami places a black stone on F8 of the board his first attempt to invade on Trey's territory.
Trey then protects his turf by placing white on G8
right next to the F8 stone that Yami had just placed. " Maybe you should just go and run back to Kaiba you shouldn't try to hang with the big boys," Trey said as Yami was forced to retreat placing his next stone on E8 of the board.
"Don't listen to them Yami you're doing fine," Hikaru and Akira said.
Trey then places a stone on D2 thus moving into the left area of the board.
Yami then defends at C2 while Trey attacks by placing a white stone on E3 right next to Yami's D3 stone.
Yami then connects to his black stone by placing another stone at D4.
" Don't underestimate what you don't know perhaps you shouldn't be hanging with your so called big boys, " Yami said smirking as he placed a black stone at D1 thus capturing Trey's D2 stone.
"Smirk all you want Yami but it will be you in tears, " Trey said as he placed a stone on E7.
Yami then places his next stone on F1 thus beginning a bottom right invasion attempt. Trey then casually placed a white stone on G1 , while Yami placed a stone in the Atari area of E1.
**Hmmm** Trey thinks to himself as he makes a move at F2.
"This is getting pretty interesting, " Hajime thought as he began twirling a silver bracelet in his hand. ( More on that later.)
Trey places a white stone at H7 and waits for Yami to make his next move.
Yami then achieves an Atari on white as he places a black stone on E2.
Trey places his next stone on G2 in order to prevent his territory from being invaded even more. The tension between the two is tense obviously Trey knows the game of Go well
Yami then goes for a center assault by placing his next stone at E5.
"See I told you Yami would be holding his own Akira," Hikaru said.
"Not so fast Yami," Trey says as he places another white stone at E6.
The game continues on for a while.
Yami then places a stone at E9 creating an Atari on Trey's F9 stone. Trey then defends by placing his stone on G9.
"That's it the players can' t make anymore moves sit and wait while I count the stones," the referee said.
After a couple of minutes the referee made his announcement . " The Winner by five points is this young man here," he said pointing towards Yami who had his victory smirk planted firmly on his face.
"What's your name son," the referee asked?
"It's Yami."
"Well Yami you did a great job perhaps you'll be officially joining our next tournament."
"Oh this is for you, " the referee said as he handed Yami a bag.
"Thank you," Yami said as he shook the referee's hand.
"Well you best be getting to your seat as the tag team matches are going to start in 30 minutes" the referee said pointing Hikaru, Hajime, Akira and Hideki
The referee then went off to get ready for the upcoming matches.
"Come on Yami I'll take you back to Kaiba," Hikaru said as he got up from his seat.
Trey then reached out to shake Yami's hand which Yami accepted as that is what he had been taught to do.
" You may have won this little game but I wouldn't let this win get to your spikey little head," Trey said smiling as he gave Yami's hand a very tight squeeze causing Yami to wince.
"Come on Yami it's time to go, " Hikaru said as he grabbed his other hand pulling him away from Trey who then left with Hajime and Hideki.
( Back at the VIP box seats)
"Kaiba-san guess what," Yami said as he ran towards Kaiba beaming with excitement.
"Let me take a wild guess you won the match," Kaiba said laughing.
" Yep I won the game and got this, " Yami holds out the bag.
"Yep Yami did an awesome job," Hikaru said.
"So who was his opponent, " Jounouchi asked?
"It was Trey, " Hikaru said.
" I don't like that guy at all I'm glad you were with Yami during the match, " Jounouchi said.
"Kaiba can I have my own Go board please," Yami asked the CEO?
"We'll see Yami okay." Kaiba replied.
"Hikaru I think you and Akira are going to have some competition here, " Kaiba said as Yami took his seat.
//Aibou you should of seen the game it was awesome, I bet you'd be great at it.//
"Hehe perhaps," Hikaru said as he turned to leave to his upcoming match.
"Hikaru why don't you and Akira stop by tonight, "Kaiba said.
"Ya know I'm sure Akira would be game for that, " Hikaru said.
"It'll also give me the chance to tell you all the story of how I got my Gamers Soul..."
