You! Off My Planet!

Prologue

"WHAT!?!" Seto Kaiba screamed loudly at a man dressed in a finely tailored suit. "What do you mean that I have to go to college? I'm the god-dammed CEO of Kaiba Corp. Why do I need to go to college when I already know everything?"

"Please, Mr. Kaiba, you must understand that it was a stipulation of your step-father's will," the suited man answered, his voice quavering lightly in fear of the twenty-year old CEO. "You must have a college degree by the time you are twenty-two or at least still in a university earning your degree. If you aren't doing any of those by the allotted age, you will lose control over the company and the Board of Directors will take over the running of Kaiba Corp."

The brunette growled to himself and glared at the man. "Why didn't you tell this to me before?" he asked in a dangerous sounding voice. "If I had known about this, I would have made sure that I went to the college and get that useless diploma. I thought that getting the high school diploma was bad enough."

The man cowered slightly and began making his way to the door. "I'm sorry, Mr. Kaiba, I was only following orders from the lawyer, my supervisor," he answered meekly as he opened the door. "I'll make sure that you will get into the finest university…"

At that moment in time, Seto got up from his desk and stalked over to the lawyer's assistant. "Listen here, you insignificant little weasel…I do not need your pathetic help. I don't need to 'get into the finest university' like you had mentioned. Domino University is good enough for me. So, if you don't hurry and leave my sight, I'll make sure that you will never be able to work in this town again."

The well-dressed man had a look of ultimate fear on his face and he nodded and basically ran out of the CEO's office. Seto sighed in exasperation as he stalked back over to his desk and hit it hard with a fist. The items on his desk shook and some fell onto the floor with a loud clatter. He cursed loudly as he practically ripped the receiver off of the phone base and started to make a few calls. The sooner he got this done, the better it would be…

A young man about twenty years old with blond hair came running out of dilapidated house with a couple of ragged looking suitcases. He put them into the back seat of a run-down vehicle and turned around to look at the house. He flipped both of his middle fingers at it and ran to the driver's side of the car when a middle-aged man came running out.

"Joey Wheeler! You get back here!" the man screamed as he brandished something that looked like a crowbar. "I will not have a son of mine disrespect me in my own home!"

Before he got into the car, Joey glared at the man with his honey brown eyes. "Oh yeah? I'm of legal age and you can't do anything to me anymore, Dad! And how can I respect a drunkard like you who can't even help me pay for my college tuition? You'd rather spend what money you make on booze and forget that you even HAVE a son!"

The elder Wheeler narrowed his eyes as he threw the crowbar at the blonde. He missed the young man completely, but broke the passenger side window. "Get out then!" the older man yelled. "I won't put up with your bullshit anymore, Joey! If you don't get the rest of your things by the end of the week, I'll put them out on the lawn and burn them!"

"That's fine with me, you asshole!" Joey retorted back loudly. "But if you do that to my things, I'll have you arrested and maybe THEN you'll get the help you so fucking deserve!" At that, the blonde went into his car and drove off in a huff, leaving his drunken father to stare at the retreating vehicle.

It was about two weeks before the new fall semester at Domino University was scheduled to begin and Seto Kaiba was already in a foul mood. He found out that another of the 'stipulations' in order for him to keep the company was to either live on the campus and in a dormitory, or rent an apartment and share it with a roommate. If it was one thing, it had to deal with people. He HATED people with the exception of his little brother, Mokuba.

Luckily, the ebony haired youth understood what was going on and fully supported his big brother. He suggested about three people he knew who were college students to his brother as possible roommate candidates. The brunette sighed at the possible choices his brother sent him. Two of the choices, he would not have them as a roommate because they are not exactly sane. Unfortunately, he had met Marik and Bakura and they nearly drove him to drink when his brother invited them over one weekend.

However, the last person that Mokuba had suggested, Joey Wheeler, appeared to have some promise. He was twenty, the same age as the CEO and was studying something in the sciences. For some reason, the little brother did not tell Seto everything about this guy but he trusted Mokuba's judgment. He then remembered how the boy suggested this guy named Joey Wheeler…

Flashback…

"Seto! I know that you disapprove of Marik and Bakura, but they are really good once you get to know them," Mokuba whined, his blue-grey eyes widening into a puppy dog look.

Seto turned his head and gave the boy a glare that could kill anyone right on the spot. "Mokuba, those two are insane. I would rather jump out of an airplane without the benefit of a parachute than spend a couple years with either of those two freaks as my roommate. How on earth could you be friends with them?"

The ebony haired youth pouted and stuck his tongue out at the taller brother and then sighed. "Well…I do have another person in mind then."

"Tell me who it is then," Seto replied in a clipped tone. It was bad enough that he was being forced to go college, but now he had to share an apartment with a person he did not know.

Mokuba had a pensive look on his face for a moment and then smiled. It was a smile that Seto knew something was up. "His name is Joey Wheeler and he is taking classes at Domino University. I don't really know him that well, but he is a friend of Yugi Mutou. You remember Yugi, right Seto? He is the friend of mine who works in a game shop."

The brunette snorted and rolled his eyes. "You mean the kid with the freaky hair and is a runt? He can't be any older than you."

"Seto! Yugi is twenty years old! He is just vertically challenged. Anyway, I think that Joey would be a good choice for you, big brother. The times I have spent with Yugi and Joey, I always had a great time."

Seto shook his head and ruffled his brother's hair, causing the teen to make a face. "I'll think about it, Mokuba. Now, you go off and get to bed. It's late."

"Hey, it's only nine p.m. and I'm already sixteen! Besides, it's still summer break and I'll stay up as late as I want," Mokuba remarked, his eyes sparkling with amusement.

End flashback…

Seto smiled to himself because of his little brother's antics. Mokuba could always cheer him up and he would miss that when the teen would go off on his own. He sighed gently as he picked up his phone and dialed a number. For some reason, he found it strange that he would have to call that Yugi person to contact the Wheeler person. After a couple of rings, someone answered the phone.

"Turtle Game Shop, Yugi Mutou speaking," an innocent sounding voice answered.

The CEO grimaced at the child-like tone. For some reason, Yugi grated on his nerves. "Is a Joey Wheeler there? This is Seto Kaiba, Mokuba's older brother. Mokuba told me that Mr. Wheeler is there and I need to talk to him."

"Oh, is this about the roommate thing?" Yugi asked at the other end of the line.

"What this is about does not concern you," Seto remarked coldly. "Put Wheeler on the line."

After a couple of minutes, and some arguing in the background, a strange male voice answered. "Yeah? What do you want?"

The brunette flinched slightly at the tone in this guy's voice. There was something in the tone that suggested something…something that sounded a little like anger. "Look, I'm only doing this as a favor for my brother. You will be my roommate for the year. If we don't kill each other when summer break begins, then we will be roommates for the remainder of your college days." The reaction he was expecting from this friend of Yugi's, and in a way Mokuba's, was not the one he got.

"You mean it? ALRIGHT!" Joey exclaimed happily, the loud noise piercing the brunette's eardrums over the phone. "I mean, thank you thank you! You will NOT regret this!"

'Somehow…I already do…' Seto thought morbidly to himself. 'What have I gotten myself into?'

Sharem: Well, here is the prologue for this story. It isn't very long, but in my opinions, prologues aren't supposed to be long…*sweatdrops* Anyway, I want to thank ACIDFLOWER for this idea and I hope I will do this justice. Joey/Seto pairings are among my favorites.

Notes: I really don't know how old Mokuba is in relation to Seto, so I'm guessing that he's just about four years younger than Seto. So with the CEO being twenty, that would make Mokuba sixteen.

Mokuba, Yugi, and the others will appear every now and then, but they won't be in this story too much. I know that Seto was figured prominently in this prologue, but it was needed to set up the story and how it will go. This story will center more on Joey in the coming chapters. How many chapters will there be? I don't know yet…I'm just going with the flow as I write…^_^

Oh! It's rated R right now…but it may go higher as the story progresses.
