Monday

 

“Now stretch your legs forward,” the TV said.

 

Serenity did so. Yoga tapes were so calming sometimes. Her brother, Joey, had gone off somewhere with Mai, so she had the house to herself until Joey finally remembered that she existed.

 

“Assume lotus position and breathe deeply,” the TV intoned.

 

Just as Serenity was about to follow, a loud knocking distracted her.

 

“OPEN UP SERENITY!!! OPEN UP!!!” Tea screeched from the other side of the front door.

 

Startled, Serenity hurried to the front door. She was anxious to see why Tea had decided to try to break down the door. Serenity flung it open. “What's wrong?”

 

“I just met the most awesome guy ever! He's absolutely gorgeous. He has the best body ever! And his hair's dyed green with red highlights, and he's totally COOL!” Tea stopped here to take a breath.

 

“You…just randomly met him? What's his name? Do I know him?” Serenity said, suddenly very curious.

 

“His name's Justin…” Tea broke off and her eyes got all dreamy.

 

“So where'd you meet him? Oh, you want to come in to talk about it?” Serenity asked, suddenly remembering her manners.

 

“No, no, that's all right, I'm on my way to see him at the movies right now,” Tea turned away.

 

“Oh, ok but—“ but before Serenity could add anymore, Tea was out of site.

 

Amused, Serenity shook her head, glad that Tea finally had a guy. After Yami had told Tea that he only liked Tea as a friend, Tea had a mental breakdown. She was totally bummed, she wouldn't eat, and was thoroughly miserable. However, upon meeting this Justin, Tea was back to her perky self, and Serenity was glad.

Tuesday 8:00

 

The sun sliced through the window and shined on Serenity. With a start, she jumped up and quickly got dressed. Today looked like a beautiful day, and she was eager to get some chores done.

 

Joey still hadn't come home, presumably still over at Mai's. The house looked like a real mess. Joey's room especially. His laundry was everywhere, and Serenity had made up her mind to clean it.

Later on Tuesday, around 10:30

 

“Whew!” Serenity picked up the last bubblegum wrapper on the floor and deposited it into the trash can. Finally, Joey's room was neat and clean. /If he dares mess it up again/, Serenity thought, /I'll personally wring his NECK./

 

Next, Serenity clomped downstairs to the kitchen, where the stack of dirty dishes had built up. She picked up the sponge, ready to wash them, when a loud knock, followed by many DING-DONGs of the doorbell sang out.

 

 

With a sigh, Serenity dropped the sponge, wiped her hands on a nearby dishtowel, and opened the door. Tea stood there, looking very miserable again.

 

“Tea, what's wrong?” Serenity gasped, quickly dragging Tea into the house and onto a couch.

 

“Justinbrokeupwithmeandithoughtthatweactuallyhadsomethinggo ingonbutthedirtybastardbrokeupwithme!” Tea sobbed, all in one breath.

 

“Wait, wait, what? Tea, calm down and say it slowly,” Serenity said, trying to figure out what Tea had just said.

 

“I sa-sa-said that Ju-ju-justin broke up with me! I th-th-thought that we actually had s-s-s-omething going on, b-b-b-but the dirty bastard broke up w-w-w-with me!” Tea blubbered.

 

“What? Why would he do that?” Serenity asked.

 

“I don't know! I met him f-f-for the movie, and after w-w-we watched it, he said th-th-that he didn't know me too well, so m-m-maybe we should see other people!” Tea replied.

 

Secretly, Serenity thought that Justin was right. Tea hardly knew the guy, so why should they be dating? However, she didn't announce her thoughts. Merely, she just handed Tea a tissue.

 

After a couple of minutes, Tea stood to go.

 

“Ugh, I'm acting like a baby. I'd better go Serenity,” Tea said, walking to the door.

 

“Bye…” Serenity said.

Wednesday, 7:00 AM

 

RING-RING-RING!

 

/That blasted phone…/ Serenity thought groggily.

 

She turned over, trying to fall asleep again, but it was useless. The phone would NOT stop ringing! Finally, at the 13th ring, Serenity dragged herself out of bed and stumped over to the phone in the hall.

 

“'Lo?” Serenity mumbled.

 

“SERENITY!!!!” Tea's voice shrieked out of the other end.

 

Serenity had to hold the phone an arms-length away in order to save her ears. “WHAT?!” she yelled back.

 

“OH MY GOD!!!! I JUST MET THE MOST PERFECT GUY EVER!!!” Tea yodeled.

 

“Ugh…who is he?” Serenity said, still sleepy.

 

“BENNY! ISN”T THAT THE MOST ADORABLE NAME EVER?” Tea screeched.

 

“Mm-hm….that's great Tea…'bye,” Serenity said, putting down the phone and turning back to bed.

Later on Wednesday, 12:00 Noon

 

Serenity opened the refrigerator to look over the few contents it contained. Joey was supposed to get some necessities, but seeing as he still wasn't back, he probably forgot.

 

She was starting to get very fed up. Joey, even though he was a great brother, needed to learn some responsibility. Serenity was still 14, so she couldn't drive to the local ShopRite.

 

Serenity slammed around the kitchen, trying to find something that was edible. Finally, she dug up a loaf of bread and a jar of jelly in the pantry. She got out a clean plastic knife and started spreading the jelly over her bread. Just as she was about to bite into her lunch, a desperate knocking sounded.

 

Heaving herself up, Serenity walked to the door to find herself face to face with a tear streaked Tea again.

 

Knowing what was coming, Serenity just plopped Tea down on the couch and waited for Tea's story.

 

“HE BROKE UP WITH ME!!!!” Tea sobbed.

 

With a sigh, Serenity wondered if Tea would ever learn not to date guys she hardly knew…
