Chapter 2: a cure

Tohru stared at the young women before her as questions overwhelmed her. She was looking at the very female version of Kyo. A girl that looked like she was Kyo's age and was an almost exact replica of Kyo except, she had a female figure and she had six piercing in one ear, four piercing in the other and two piercing in her left eyebrow. The girl in question raised her eyebrow into a point as if asking what Tohru was gaping at. She also looked kind of' pissed because the staring. Tohru blinked a few times before finally speaking at the redhead," uh… hi can I get you something, I mean would you like something, because I could get it for you if…"

The girl let out a growl and spoke back," shut up, if I wanted somethin' I woulda' asked! I'm not stupid, I know how t' ask." Kyo blinked in surprise and rose to his feet. When he was at his full height, he did something that no one in the room ever thought they'd see; he hugged the women, without transforming. Tohru stared wide-eyed as the women hugged him back, she released him and he held her back examining her with his eyes. They met each other's eyes and smiled, " Kayune, I can't believe you're back! It's been so long, you better stay a long time, I missed you!" they hugged once again and Kyo turned to face Tohru with a permanent smile plastered on his face. The cat of the zodiac he gestured to the rice ball and said," Kayune this is Tohru, Tohru this is Kayune, she's my twin sister." Tohru bowed politely, her hair cascading into her face," nice to meet you Kayune." Kayune didn't bow back, she just slightly glared and replied with a," Hn"

It was then that Tohru noticed a briefcase sitting by the door, she assumed that Kayune had dropped it there when she had come in, although Tohru was very discouraged by Kayune's silence, she smiled any way. Kayune turned away and looked at Shigure and smirked, " so… Shigure, your taking care of my brother right? You're not annoying him or anything like acting like a perv'… well?" Shigure, the usually cheerful smiling childlike adult had a look on his face comparable to that of a deer caught in the head light of an oncoming semi-truck.

He smiled nervously and let out a rather scared chuckle, " what do you mean by that, Kayune? " Kayune glared at him and sat down next to Kyo. He was already seated at the table again and Tohru was soon seated on the other side of Yuki. Kayune and Kyo conversed in whispers and Shigure was un-characteristically quiet. Kayune followed Kyo up onto the roof and Tohru did the dishes as Yuki and Shigure finished what they were doing earlier that morning.

The shingles creaked as Kayune and her twin sat on the roof of the house in the woods. Kyo leaned back as Kayune spoke with him, " I found it Kyo, I really found it this time." Kyo sat up in surprise and stared at her unbelievingly as she went on," we need to get all of the zodiac together, and you need to memorize the a chant, after that I have to handle everything." Kyo was still amazed; she had finally found a cure to the curse of the zodiac. Now he could finally be at peace, no one would ever see that horrific form of his again. He recalled the fresh memory of Tohru seeing him in his third form, it had only been a month but it felt like it was only yesterday, the fear flashing over her delicate features as he transformed into the monster that was part of him. He would never have to see that fear again. He would be free. He was so thrilled he almost didn't catch the movement in the bush to the side of him. He turned his full attention to the movement just as some very fast came at the two of them something shining in its hand.
