The weekend had been wonderful as Inuyasha ended up spending most
of the weekend out with Kikyo, so Hiei was actually able to eat
meals with everyone. The servants were simply informed that he was
her friend from college and her sisters already knew about the two
of them. Kagome was positively glowing about all of it, but the two
men seemed to be having a glaring contest every time that they met.
It was during Sunday dinner that Sesshoumaru had the girls pull
Kagome away so that he could speak to Hiei in private. He led the
demon to his father's study and sat at the desk while looking at
him.
“I've known about your seeing my sister for some time now,
but I let it go hoping that she would get over it. However, I know
now that she has become most serious about you. I wish to know your
feelings about her.”
“It is none of your business,” he stated as he glared
at the other man.
“Ah, but it is my business because you are seeing a
female of my clan. Not only that, but a royal female who happens to
be my younger sister. You may not be aware, but if I say the word
Kagome will be forced to quit seeing you.”
A darker glare met that statement, “I love Kagome, and once
your father is informed I intend to seek permission to mate
her.”
A nod met that answer, “as my father is not present and is
unaware of the full situation I will accept your suit to court my
sister. You will still need father's permission to make her your
mate, but you can place your courting mark on her.”
“Knowing who I am, you would still accept my suit to take
Kagome as my own?”
“You are her choice and she carries your pup; however, if you
hurt her you will not live to see another day.” The issued
threat was enough to give Hiei pause before he nodded curtly and
exited the room to go back to his woman.

Classes were tiring for Kagome considering all that had happened
and was happening. Her father noticed that she seemed to be
stressed and decided that he wanted her to be more protected and so
ordered her to have a bodyguard. So sitting right next to her was
Bankotsu Hitatsu, the leader of the band of seven and a member of
the Fangs. Though he didn't know about Hiei, he seemed to know that
she was having guy problems. With a tired sigh she leaned her head
against Bankotsu's shoulder and closed her eyes.
A growl sounded a few rows back as Hiei witnessed the scene. The
others among them were almost all confused, though Youko and
Kuroune knew what was going on with the two. They were still
wondering why Kagome was with the thunder demon. She was supposed
to be back with Hiei.
Just as the bell rang she stood and rushed from the classroom.
Bankotsu just shook his head with what looked like a knowing smile
as he gathered all of her things and slung her bag on his shoulder.
Making his way to where he knew the girl had run off to. The guys
watched from nearby where the demons could all easily hear what was
being spoken when she emerged. After a few moments Kagome
re-emerged looking pale and shaky. Bankotsu gently wrapped his arm
around her and pulled her into his larger frame for support.
“So when are you gonna tell your dad that you're
pupped?”
Wide eyes filled with shock met his stunning sky blue, “how
did you know?”
“Morning sickness,” he answered with a shrug.
“Besides I've heard the rumors that you've finally found
yourself a guy.”
“Ban!”
“Hey, don't get mad at me for knowing the real issue when
your old man is blind,” he chuckled. “At least tell me
he's gonna man up and take responsibility for it when it comes to
telling your dad.”
“Of course he'll take responsibility!” she exclaimed
while glaring at him. “Honestly you're worse than
Sesshou.”
“Heh, just wait till Inu finds out.”
“You're NOT telling him,” she murmured softly
with a dark glare.
“Okay, okay,” he shrugged while holding his hands up in
a peaceful gesture. “Geez, you're scarier than
Tashio-sama.”
“Only when I want to be,” she said softly as she looked
around and found the Reikons watching them. Surprise flashed
through her eyes before she looked back to her bodyguard.
“Hey Ban, would you mind waiting for me at my next
class?”
“You sure? I know you're aware of what your dad
ordered.”
“Please Nii-san?” she tried while pouting at him and
knowing that the nickname would do the trick. He just sighed and
gave a nod as he headed off into the direction of her next class.
When she was sure that he was out of sight she made her way over to
the Reikons with a smile while hugging Hiei close. “Sorry
about that, but Bankotsu is sorta my bodyguard now cause of what
happened with my mom.”
“Your bodyguard is a Fang?” questioned Yusuke as he
semi-glared at her. “Besides, you seem awfully chummy with
him. I mean, you called him your brother.”
“When I was young we were around each other a lot,” she
answered softly as she looked at the others. “At least we
were until they were taken from me.”
“They?” asked Youko as he eyed her.
“My family,” she responded as she had a faraway look in
her eyes. “Now if you'll excuse me, I must meet Ban for my
next class.”
With that she bowed out and headed off to her next class. She met
Ban just outside and allowed him to escort her to her seat. A sigh
escaped her lips as she once more allowed her head to rest against
Bankotsu's shoulder. “You know, if your boyfriend sees this
he's sure to get jealous.”
“Not in this class,” was her murmured reply as her eyes
closed.
“Are you sure you even want to be in class? Your professors
would understand if I pulled you out because your father would feel
safer with you at home.”
“Wouldn't that be using daddy's influence just to get outta
class?”
“Point being? I know you haven't been feeling well and I also
know that your old man would prefer you at home with Kamara
anyway.”
“I doubt similar arrangements can be made for me and besides,
Inu and Sesshou are allowed out.”
“They're used to the danger, you girls aren't. It's all made
worse with your condition as well, so you should go
home.”
“You shouldn't assume to know what I'm used to!” she
hissed as she rose to her feet and stormed from the room in the
middle of a lecture. Bankotsu sat there for a minute before he
gathered her things and chased after her. When he reached the
hallway she was already long gone with no trace of a scent.
Cursing, he made his way back to the manor to see if maybe she had
returned home.

Kagome slowly made her way through the city while thinking on how
she had snapped at Bankotsu. It still angered her slightly that he
presumed to know what she was used to, like he knew what she had
been through. Of course no one in Tokyo knew the truth about her
experience in Kyoto or the truth of her position in the Roses. Her
marks for her gang associations were carefully hidden, including
her rose which was low on her abdomen and dipped below her pant
line.
Thinking on the past had her thinking of old friends and with a
small smile she withdrew her phone and dialed a familiar number.
After two rings a soft female voice answered the line.
“Hello, Cheza speaking.”
“Hey Cheza, how are things in Kyoto?”
“Kagome? You have perfect timing; can I ask a
favor?”
“Sure, what is it?”
“Well you see, I'd have one of the girls here do it but the
objective is kinda in Tokyo from what my sources tell me. You're
also the best I've got and would be perfect for the job that I have
in mind.”
“Who?” was all Kagome asked as a serious look dawned on
her face.
“Jaguara; she's there for some reason we can't figure out,
but it's finally a good time since she's away from their
headquarters.”
“I'll call when it's done then,” Kagome murmured as a
fire lit her eyes.
“Be careful, Kage.”
“Will do, later Cheza.”
She hung up the phone and made her way back to the mansion, making
sure to avoid the guards and sneak into her room. In her closet she
pulled up a loose floor board and lifted a large box out. In the
box was a skin tight leather cat-suit with a silver chain bracelet
with many different charms adorning it. She pulled her hair up into
a ponytail, stripped from her normal clothes, pulled on the
cat-suit and bracelet, then replaced the box and floor boards. A
sound from the hallway had her quickly slipping back out the window
and off the property. With what she needed to do, her car would be
useless.

Hiei and Youko were out tailing some new enemies in the city while
talking amongst themselves. Their conversations were mental as they
trailed the woman from different places in case one of them were
compromised. “Hiei, the plants whisper of another presence
trailing our mark.”
“It is no surprise, as the Fangs are sure to have heard
about the new gang.”
”I don't sense a Fang though, and the plants will tell me
nothing else about this person besides they are
there.”
“Another plant user, perhaps?”
“Only another silver could have the chance of overpowering
my control.” Youko's voice sounded confused as he spoke.
Silver youkai are rare, and to run into one here would be a wonder.
Especially if the other silver was a fang.
“Are there no others that might have the power to sway the
plants?”
“None that readily come to mind. Don't
move!”
The order was rushed and panic filled, but Hiei stopped moving
immediately. Apparently he had stopped just in time as a ball of
energy whizzed just before his face and slammed into the woman the
two had been trailing. “The plants warned
you?”
Youko could hear the surprise in his friend's voice as he asked.
“Hai, they whispered the warning just in time
too.”
Below them, the woman was rising to her feet though she did spit up
some blood. Another figure dropped down from the foliage with a
dark red mist surrounding her body. Their mark seemed surprised and
almost terrified all at once as she took a step back from the
figure before her. “Impossible, the Crimson Rose disappeared
months ago.”
A smirk could be seen through the mist as the person laughed a cold
sound that sent shivers down the spines of all others that were
present. “Seems the rumors are true, you really are a human.
And just because I went away doesn't mean I left
forever.”
“What are doing here?”
“Why do I always appear Jaguara?” the figure questioned
calmly as she took a step forward.
“To kill,” the woman whispered with a fear colored
voice.
“Good job, now why do you think I'd appear before you
here?”
“Cheza sent you,” it was more a statement than a
question.
“Perhaps,” the figure responded. “But more
importantly I have a question for you; quick and painless or slow
and torturous?”
“What?”
“How would you like to die?” the figure requested.
Meanwhile the two Reikan tails were watching from their hidden
spots with widened eyes full of confusion and slight worry. Youko
asked, “can you get into their mind?”
“No,” the answer was annoyed. “But I've
found the person is a female. She is skilled.”
“She's the one controlling the plants.”
“I won't die,” Jaguara said somewhat surely.
“Oh? And how do you expect to best me?”
“Like this!” she exclaimed as she threw a blast of dark
magic at the other woman.
The figure merely waved the energy away as though she were bored.
“Why are you in Tokyo?”
“What?” asked the woman as she tried to back away.
“I asked,” she said in the woman's ear causing her to
jump and scream. “Why are you in Tokyo?”
“Lord Darcia sent me, please spare me?”
“Why did he send you?” she questioned as she stared
down into eyes that now dawned with realization.
“It's you?”
“Answer,” she hissed as a scream of pain tore from the
other woman.
“He wants to take over the city!”
“Why?”
“So that he can wipe out our enemies and take control of
everything! I've told you what you want, so please, show me
mercy?”
“Mercy?” questioned the female figure with a smirk.
“Very well.”
“Thank-you, thank-y…” her voice was cut off as
her body was turned into ash.
The Reikons came out of hiding as Hiei approached the figure. He
stopped quite a ways away from her as she looked at his face.
“You agreed to give her mercy.”
“I did, I gave her a quick death,” the figure murmured
as she turned from them.
Youko was there when she turned and his eyes widened as he got a
clear look at her face. “Kagome?”
