Warnings for bad language in this chapter mainly from Inuyasha, he is such a bad boy who needs his mouth washed out with soap, maybe Kagome’s mum will do it for him with Sesshomaru helping as well.
Chapter 3 A Happy Ever After ?
It was the second day home and she was so bored, Kagome had finished her on-line school work and gone to School earlier that day for her once a month visit which she was required to do ever since her mother had took her out of school for home schooling, it had made her obligations to the past and to keep up on her education a lot easier to fulfil but it also meant to Inuyasha’s delight that she didn’t go home as often, though he did bitch when they ran out ramen.
As Kagome thought with great delight whether or not to have another bath, a familiar aura approached Kagome and then ta-da Inuyasha popped through her open bedroom window with a scowl on his face.
“ Osuwari! ”
As soon as the spell ran off, Inuyasha jumped up from her bedroom floor, his face murderous.
“ Hey wench why did you do that for?”
“ I said 3 days Inuyasha, it’s only been 1 and half.”
“ Hey it’s not my fucking fault, you’re the one that told me to come and get you.”
“ I did not.”
“ Yes you did, you said as soon as Kouga comes to the village to come and get you.”
“ Oh..”
Kagome breathed slowly as her stomach clenched with anxiety, so that’s why Inuyasha face was like that when he came. She sat down on her bed and closed her eyes, her heart was pounding and she felt rather faint, sad and also ready to cry.
“ Hey don’t cry Kagome I hate it when you cry, it smells.”
“ Yeah I know Inuyasha, it’s just… you know what this means.”
Kagome suddenly felt a hand on her knee, she opened her eyes and looked into her best friend gold eyes who now knelt staring back at her with pain in them, and then with a softly but serious and subdued voice not often heard from the brash hanyou.
“ Come on Kagome it’s time.”
“ Yeah! ”
Kagome sat on the edge of the well, waiting for Inuyasha to bring the others from the village. In her clasped hands she gazed at a nearly completed Shikon no Tama, it was missing 2 shards - Kouga’s. To think after all this time it would be finally completed and her long journey and adventure would come to a end in the Feudal era, she knew this was true, much as she wanted it she did not belong in this time, though part of her heart and soul would always remain here, as she replaced the jewel back around her neck, her mind flew back.
Flashback
Over a month ago the Inu gang had finally defeated Naraku though not in a way they had expected, they had even had help from Lord Sesshomaru though he was there for his own reason’s and after the ferocious battle he had left as quickly as he had come.
Even Naraku’s own incarnations Kanna and Kagura had turned against him in the end with help from Kikyo who had managed to retrieve their hearts and held them as a bargaining chips making them fight against their Master. The battle had been long and hard every one sustaining several injuries even Lord Sesshomaru looked slightly ruffled.
What turned out to be the deciding factor in defeating Naraku had been surprisingly the incomplete Shikon no Tama itself, Naraku at one point charged a brutal attack against Kagome as out of all of his enemies attacks, Kagome’s purifying arrows had caused the most damage against him. With one of his tentacles he had quickly grabbed hold of her by piercing her through the stomach and then bringing her next to him.
Kagome knew she was dying what with the fatal stomach wound and Naraku’s miasma slowly choking her with its fumes. What happened next was a fluke really, in his left hand Naraku held the incomplete Shikon no Tama, and with a move almost echoing the day Kagome had reached up to release the arrow from Inuyasha when he had been sealed to the Goshin Boko Tree, she reached up with the last of her strength and grabbed hold of his clenched hand to try and get the Shikon no Tama from him.
With anger Naraku flung her away from him but unbeknownst to him Kagome had managed to get some of her blood on the Shikon no Tama which it absorbed. Whilst that happened the Shikon no Tama purified itself even though it was still in Naraku’s hand, then it glowed with a blinding white light and destroyed his hand with a blast, the Shikon no Tama floated in the air just above Naraku and then to every one’s shock it sucked in Naraku similar in away to how Miroku’s wind tunnel worked.
When Naruku disappeared the incomplete Shikon no Tama floated over to Kagome and fell into her hand, still glowing it healed her, Kagome now sleeping peacefully and healed didn’t see what happened next. Midoriko’s spirit came from the jewel and quickly explained to the group that Naraku was sealed inside the Shikon no Tama never to be let free. Miroku exclaimed because his wind tunnel was still there but Midoriko smilingly calmed him saying that when the Shikon no Tama was finally completed and in Kagomes hands the jewel will finally be purified and his wind tunnel will disappear.
Also to great sadness of Inuyasha, Sango, Shippo and Miroku she explained that Kagome must and will return to her own time and the well shall not work any more, with that she said her goodbyes and returned to the jewel its white light disappearing as it returned to its usual pale pink glow.

Kagomes mind returned to the present, sadly she heard sounds coming from the forest which alerted her that Inuyasha was coming back. Part of her in away wanted not to complete the jewel, though she had long come to terms with her feelings for Inuyasha and he in return, it would be hard to let go of someone who had been her first love, protector and now best friend also sometimes an older brother to her.
Sango she would miss, their girl talks in the hot springs, her strength and friendship something she cherished dearly.
Miroku even with his great perverted-ness she would miss, because of his wisdom and also his strength of mind, someone who had lived with death everyday with it basically staring from him in the palm of his hand, he too had become like a brother to her.
Last of all Shippo, Kagome felt a few tears rolling down her cheeks then, Shippo some one she’d taken care like a son, which he was to her, she would really miss him, he had become a part of her in away she hadn’t realised until she had so recently had come to terms of having to leave the feudal era for ever.
Kagome wiped the tears and smiled bravely as her 2nd family came to stand next to her.
“ Kagome.”
Shippo with a big shout and jumped into her arms almost knocking her back into well, if it wasn’t for Inuyasha quickly grabbing her.
“ Hey whelp watch it.”
“ Are you okay Kagome.”
Sango asked tears coming to her own eyes knowing this was the last time she would see her sister.
“ Yeah.”
“ Stop been so fucking morbid every one.”
Inuyasha grunted out scowling at this display coming from them, though inside he felt the same as he looked at would be the last few moments of being near his first and best friend, the one who had trusted him and learnt him to trust too, who had stood by him through thick and thin. A comforting hand placed itself on his shoulder, it was Kikyo. Kikyo and Kagome had long come to a understanding over Inuyasha a few months ago, though not friends in any sense both had gained a deep respect for each other.
“ Kouga should be here soon.”
Miroku said as Kagome looked around searching for wolf demon. Kagome just smiled she was being unnaturally quiet, as she grabbed hold of Shippo even tighter who was whimpering slightly in sadness.
As the group quietly talked, a powerful aura coming from the trees which made Inuyasha tense as he grabbed hold of his Tetsusaiga.
“ Sesshomaru”
Walking from out of the trees came the Demon Lord followed by Jaken and Rin sitting on Ah Un, sitting behind Rin shockingly was Kanna. Then Sango let out a large sob as Kagura came out with Kohaku beside her.
“ Kohaku….”
“ Nee-san.”
The two siblings ran to each other ending with Sango grabbing Kohaku tightly into her chest which Kohaku responded back hesitantly.
“ I thought you were dead.”
“ I was, Lord Sesshomaru brought me back with the Tensaiga,”
Sango her face covered with tears let go of him reluctantly and approached Sesshomara and bowed deeply.
“ I am in your debt Lord Sesshomara, if you ever need my help please do not hesitate to ask.”
“ Hnn.”
Sesshomaru only nodded his face blank as usual, as for Jaken.
“ Humph stupid human as if the powerful Lord Sesshomaru will ever need your help, it was because of stupid Rin that Lord Sesshomaru even ….Argghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.”
Jaken suddenly went flying through the trees with Rin’s giggles in his ears.
“ Why are you here Sesshomaru.”
Inuyasha’s body not relaxing for a moment whilst watching his half-brother.
“ Rin requested to see the Lady Kagome before she goes.”
It was Kanna who replied to which Inuyasha replied in his usual brash manner.
“ Since when have you listened to fucking humans.”
“ Osuwari! ”
Two voices shouted out this time, making the subjugation spell twice as powerful. Kagome and Kikyo just looked at each as they rolled their eyes in understanding and slight humour.
“ Inuyasha you don’t speak like that around children.”, came from Kagome.
A mumbled speech was their answer.
“ Fuckingbitchesgoingfuckingkillmeoneday.”
Sesshomara eyes sparkled with amusement, he so enjoyed the way the hanyou was so easily subdued by the pair.
“ Inuyasha you are a disgrace to our bloodline, to let some human wenches defeat you so easily, what will be next a leash and collar.”
By the end of Sesshomaru’s speech the subjugation spell had run off but so had Inuyasha’s brain cells.
“ Fuck off bastard.”
“ Osuwari.”
“ Hey where’s my woman.”
A familiar and hated voice reached Inuyasha ears, ‘ Its just not my day’.
“ Ouch what did you do that for bitch.”
Everyone stared as Ayame had hold of one of Kouga’s ears tightly.
“ You promised me you wouldn’t say that any more.”
“ Hello Ayame.”
Kagome went over and hugged the female.
“ So is congratulations in order.”, she asked teasingly, Ayame blushed in reply.
Kagome took a deep breathe, “ Well then lets finish this.”, as she held out her hand towards Kouga. Kouga quickly bent down and took the two shards he had out from his legs and handed them to Kagome.
Kagome took out the incomplete Shikon no Tama from around her neck and with the two last shards in her hand closed them around the jewel and closed her eyes as she concentrated on the small jewel, the energy pouring out from Kagome rippled out and touched everyone, as it did something happened, Kikyo started to disappear.
“ Kikyo..” Inuyasha shouted as a he went to touch her.
“ It’s okay Inuyasha, this is meant to be.”
“ No if you go, I am going with you.”
“ Inuyasha I set you free, its time for you to let me go, you will love another again I promise and this time it will be your true soul mate, you won‘t be lonely anymore, its what you deserve my Inuyasha.”
Tears gentle rolled down Kikyo’s face as she looked once more at Inuyasha with a gentle smile then slowly as her clay body started to dissipate in the breeze she walked towards Kagome as she did so souls released themselves from her body into the air until only semi-visible figure of Kikyo embraced Kagome and then it coalesced into Kagome.
Kagome stared at her friends, the same tears echoed from Kikyo now on her cheeks the Shikon no Tama raised itself from the palm of her hands slowly as it glowed brighter and brighter.
“ Miroku.”
Sango cried suddenly dragging everyone’s attention away from what had sadly just happened, the monk was now bent over clenching his right hand in pain, suddenly the pray beads wrapped around snapped, everyone stepped back even Sesshomaru tensed all wondering whether to run.
“ Kami, it’s ..it’s …”
“ What Miroku, what’s the matter.”
Miroku straightened up and then unclenched his now bare palm, the wind tunnel which had cursed his family for 3 generations was now gone, then with a look of brief glee and mischievous he walked over to Sango and went down on his knee and took one of her hands and asked his favourite question.
“ Lady Sango would you do me the honour of baring my children?”
Sango’s face went bright red and then even redder as his other hand found his favourite haven.
“Hentai…”
The monk lay bruised on the grass with a happy face.
“My hand is still cursed I see.”
In the meantime Kagome walked over to Inuyasha and hugged him, pain in her heart at knowing he had lost the one he had loved.
“I’m so sorry Inuyasha I I …” Kagome didn’t know what to say but hugged him even tighter which Inuyasha responded himself with gratitude as he breathed in Kagome warm and comforting scent and then let her go.
“ Its okay Kagome.”
The Shikon no Tama glowed once more and it too like Kikyo dissipated into dust but instead of floating away into the breeze forever it instead went into Kagome once more, then her body wavered and she disappeared.
“ Wait no I wanted to say ….”
Was her last words in the air as she went.
“ Kagome!”
When her mum held her, Kagome felt as if all the strength had gone from her legs, down she went onto the kitchen floor dragging her mum with her.
“Kagome, what’s the matter dear.”
“I didn’t get to say goodbye, I didn’t get to say goodbye!”
Over and over she kept repeating it as she rocked in her mums arms.
Mrs Higurashi suddenly heard the front door bell go.
“I’ll get it.”
Souta shouted as he ran downstairs not seeing Kagome crying in his mums as he was in such a rush.
Souta opened the door expecting to see one of his friends when his eyes widened in shock in front of him was an unusual girl with tied up long blue hair and unusual pink eyes and dressed in pale pink kimono and strangely enough with a oar in one of her hands, she was also smiling very cheerfully, Souta felt his face go red at pretty girl as she stared at him.
“Hello I have come to see Lady Kagome, the Shikon Miko.”

Ohh this chapter was so hard to do, my brain kept whimpering along with my muse. Anyways poor Inuyasha, he ended up with no one (he he he), or may be not who can tell what time will say.
On the next chapter what mishaps will the Spirit Detectives get into and how a simply kiss will rescue them !

In the meantime Kagome walked over to Inuyasha and hugged him, pain in her heart at knowing he had lost the one he had loved.
“I’m so sorry Inuyasha I I …” Kagome didn’t know what to say but hugged him even tighter which Inuyasha responded himself with gratitude as he breathed in Kagome warm and comforting scent and then let her go.
“ Its okay Kagome.”
The Shikon no Tama glowed once more and it too like Kikyo dissipated into dust but instead of floating away into the breeze forever it instead went into Kagome once more, then her body wavered and she disappeared.
“ Wait no I wanted to say ….”
Was her last words in the air as she went.

Mrs Higurashi was standing in the kitchen busy getting tea ready when she heard a sob behind her, she turned to see Kagome, her face red with crying, eyes full of pain and anguish, she rushed over and grabbed her.“ Kagome!”
When her mum held her, Kagome felt as if all the strength had gone from her legs, down she went onto the kitchen floor dragging her mum with her.
“Kagome, what’s the matter dear.”
“I didn’t get to say goodbye, I didn’t get to say goodbye!”
Over and over she kept repeating it as she rocked in her mums arms.
Mrs Higurashi suddenly heard the front door bell go.
“I’ll get it.”
Souta shouted as he ran downstairs not seeing Kagome crying in his mums as he was in such a rush.
Souta opened the door expecting to see one of his friends when his eyes widened in shock in front of him was an unusual girl with tied up long blue hair and unusual pink eyes and dressed in pale pink kimono and strangely enough with a oar in one of her hands, she was also smiling very cheerfully, Souta felt his face go red at pretty girl as she stared at him.
“Hello I have come to see Lady Kagome, the Shikon Miko.”

Ohh this chapter was so hard to do, my brain kept whimpering along with my muse. Anyways poor Inuyasha, he ended up with no one (he he he), or may be not who can tell what time will say.
On the next chapter what mishaps will the Spirit Detectives get into and how a simply kiss will rescue them !
