An Old Friend and New Obligations

Chapter 1

"Alright!" yelled Yusuke when he hung up the phone.

"What has you so excited?" asked Hiei grimly.

"An old friend of mine is gonna come and visit so you guys gotta be on your best behavior `cus my friend is a girl." Yusuke said so fast it was hard to catch what he said.

"Yusuke's got a girl friend. Yusuke's got a girl friend." Kuwabara chanted stupidly.

"YOU IDIOT!" Yusuke yelled as he punched his lights out," I'm going out with Kayko!"

"Glad you finally admit it." said Kurama

"I didn't….. OH SHUT UP." said Yusuke as his friends cracked up with laughter.

The phone rang saving Yusuke from further embarrassment. After a minute he hung up and told Kurama that his mom needed him at home to help with some chores.

"Ok. See you later. Hiei you better come too."

"I'll meet you there I have some things to do first." Hiei answered.

"Well then I'm leavin' too." said Kuwabara

Kurama and Kuwabara left the room. Hiei however wasn't going to leave yet.

"Yusuke," he said," does this friend of yours know about your job?"

"Yeah, she does Hiei. See, she's not exactly what you would call normal either. She goes back in time to the warring states era all the time and kills demons and collects shards of some magic jewel."

Hiei stopped to think for a minute then asked in a shocked voice," You wouldn't be talking about Higurashi, Kagome would you?"

"Yeah. How do you know her?"

"I meet her before. Back in the warring states era. She…helped me. I was… a different person back then."

"Whatever Hiei. I gotta clean so you gotta get going."

As Hiei left the apartment he thought to himself," I've never seen him this worked up about a visitor. They must have been really good friends. I guess that promise I made is about to come true."
