Last time…

Angoli looked back and winked, her tail curling around her waist. "I know everything." She said simply, leaving the four to think about her words for a while.

& Noon &

Kagome groaned lightly and opened her eyes, looking around in confusion. She sat up and rubbed her eyes with the back of her hands before standing and walking towards the door.

She blinked and squinted her eyes at the harsh after noon sunlight. Her gaze traveled towards Angoli and Shippou, both sat in front of each other, eyes closed. They looked almost like they were meditating. Angoli smiled softly and opened her eyes, looking at Shippou before turning her attention to Kagome. "Afternoon… sleep well, Master?" she asked.

Kagome nodded and took a seat next to Angoli, smiling brightly. "I slept okay… please just call me Kagome." She said waving a hand in the air. "So what were you guys doing?" she asked, smiling at Shippou as he bounced happily. "She was teaching me how to control and use my powers!" he said excitedly.

Kagome raised a brow and giggled. "With your eyes closed?" she said with a giggle. Angoli smiled knowingly. "Of course… Midoriko taught you how to control yours in your sleep, ne?" she said, chuckling lightly as Kagome paled. "How… but… Yea, she did." She looked around and sighed. "Just… don't say anything to Inuyasha and the gang. I really rather not have a whole lot of people know." Kagome said, smiling lightly and blushing.

Angoli chuckled and nodded her head. "As you wish Ma- Er, Kagome." Angoli reached over and dropped something into Shippou's hand. "Use these for now until you can get a better control on your power, child." She gestured towards an empty field. "Go on and practice… I have things I must discuss with Kagome."

Kagome watched as Shippou bounced off before turning towards Angoli. "We will be leaving sooner than expected. It seems Naraku got word that Kouga has the remaining shards, and he will attack tomorrow." Angoli said, not looking directly at Kagome until she finished.

Kagome sighed and nodded her head. "Alright, we should leave immediately then, right?" Angoli nodded softly before standing. "The rest are ready. Get your stuff and we will begin our journey." Angoli said, whistling sharply.

Kagome watched in fascination as a small dragon started towards them, seeming to come out of the shadows of the forest. It was about Kirara's size and all black with a purple ring around its neck that looked like a collar. "This is Korari. He is yours." Angoli said, waiting until Korari stopped at their feet before continuing. "He can take a larger form, and you can ride on his back. His attacks are fire and earth. He will help protect you as well, and he understands our language, so if you want him to do something, just tell him." She said before bounding off towards Inuyasha and Kikyo, who were making their way closer when they saw that Kagome was awake. "I will tell the others you are ready."

Kagome smiled down at the dragon and held out her arms. It jumped into her arms and made a small content sound before liking her hand and adjusting its wings. Kagome sighed lightly and started towards the hut. "Shippou! Come help me pack!"

Later that day

They had been traveling non-stop for hours now, and they were only a few miles from Kouga's den. Kagome was in shock when Korari transformed before her earlier. He was huge! Sango, Miroku, Shippou, Kirara, and Kagome could all fit comfortably on his back, which made it easier when Kirara needed a break.

Angoli flew at Kagome's side, looking forward with a scowl. She was currently carrying Kikyo in her arms, giving Inuyasha a break. She slowly lowered to the ground and let Kikyo's feet hit the ground before Inuyasha helped her onto his back. "I am going ahead a bit to scout. Keep this pace if possible. Something feels… off about this…" She said before lifting off into the air.

The others just nodded, knowing how she felt. Something hadn't felt right all day. Inuyasha watched her leave, a grim expression coming to his face. He looked up at the others before shouting to them. "I think she knows something we don't. Lets pick up the pace in case she needs us." He said before quickening his pace.

Angoli sped up more, her eyes flashing a dark red at the smells in the air. It was blood. Lots of it. She gasped some as the tree line broke and she looked down at the sight before her. Kouga was barely dodging attacks by Naraku's demons and Kagara's deadly fan. A few of his best men were still standing and fighting, but not as many as there should have been.

Angoli growled softly, her canines bared as she swooped down, her tail unwrapping itself from her waist, the hairless end dripping with poison as were her claws. She slashed her way through a few demons before swooping towards Kouga and landing at his side. "Kouga right?" she asked, her tail flicking out and destroying some approaching demons.

Kouga looked over at Angoli and raised a brow before launching himself at a few stray demons. "Yea?" he asked, sniffing the air and widening his eyes. "Why do you smell like my woman?" he demanded, keeping an eye on her while dodging a few demons. He swung his foot around and hit them, killing them.

Angoli chuckled as she lunged towards a spider demon, taking it out quickly before she raised her eyes to Kagura just as she was about to use her fan. "I am a friend, now move!" she shouted quickly, grabbing Kouga and lifting him into the air to avoid the attack when he didn't respond. She watched the area they were standing in as it was destroyed.

Cursing softly she looked down at his injuries as he struggled. "Hey, put me down wench!" he demanded, but froze when her hands began to glow a silver color around his waist. The pain from his wounds disappeared after a moment, and he was back on his feet, healed completely.

Kouga looked up at Angoli as she floated back into the air in a state of shock, but he quickly moved to avoid being gutted by a few demons. He destroyed them as quick as he could before following after Angoli.

Angoli flew towards Kagura, narrowing her eyes dangerously at the wind witch. Focusing her energy she waited until Kagura used her wind attack before letting out a blast of energy in her direction.

Kagura widened her eyes at the massive amount of silver energy hurtled her way, destroying her wind attack before it even got close to Angoli. She grabbed her feather from her hair and quickly hightailed it out of there; the demons left alive following behind quickly.

Kouga widened his eyes and stared in shock at Angoli before watching the ball of energy make a crater in the ground. He started towards her just as Inuyasha and co. showed up. "I give you my thanks, woman." He said gruffly before walking towards Kagome and eyeing the dragon as it assumed it's smaller form. "Kagome! Have you decided to stay with me and be my woman finally?" he asked before rushing towards her and grabbing her hands.

Sango and Miroku sweat dropped and sighed while Angoli looked on in amusement as Inuyasha began yelling. "SHE IS NOT YOUR WOMAN YOU STINKEN WOLF!" he screamed, glaring at Kouga as Kikyo stood beside him, confused.

Kagome blushed a deep red and laughed uncomfortably before waving a hand. "Actually Kouga, we came to see if you could give us your jewel shards. You, Naraku, and I are the last ones who have them. We are going after Naraku next." She explained, watching him wilt a bit in front of her before perking up a bit. "Alright. You can have the jewel shards, but I am coming with you to help!" Inuyasha groaned and stalked away unhappily.

Kagome sighed before nodding, looking over at Angoli and smiling. Angoli chuckled lightly and nodded her head before turning away. "And so the plot thickens. We will take a break before heading out." She informed them before taking a seat on a nearby rock and closing her eyes.

Some of Kouga's men walked closer to her, whispering softly about her. Her mouth twitched into a quick smile as she heard their conversation. They were discussing her and her power… and which of them would claim her. She quickly put those thoughts to rest when she looked over at them and narrowed her eyes in warning, sending them a telepathic message that made them all pale and move farther away from her.

They decided to wait until the next day before heading off to Naraku's palace, but they never made it there.

Kagome sat by the fire, finishing up the ramen, the group huddled around her and waited as she poured it into bowls. Kouga refused to eat it, and sent his men out to hunt for their food. Suddenly, the sky darkened more, making everyone stop in place and look up at the dark clouds rolling their way.

Angoli narrowed her eyes, her nose and ears twitching some as she stared at a particular spot. She stood and growled lightly, causing everyone else to stand as well, abandoning what they were doing to gather their weapons and prepare for an attack. "Follow me." She instructed before running towards a field nearby.

Kagome picked up her bow and arrows before running after her, Inuyasha and Kikyo at her side and Shippou on her shoulders. Angoli stopped in the middle of the clearing. "Kagome Shippou Kirara and Korari! Stand in the middle, the rest of you circle them!" she commanded, not taking her eyes off the black dot in the sky that grew larger and larger.

Kagome watched as Kirara and Korari transformed into their larger forms and paced in a circle around her. Inuyasha pulled out his sword and stood next to Angoli and Miroku. Miroku glanced over at Sango, who was standing next to him in her fighting stance before sighing heavily.

Angoli looked over at Kouga, who stood next to her, then Kikyo before furrowing her brows. "Kikyo, go back with Kagome and protect her." She said softly, watching as the woman nodded before stepping back. She raised her eyes just as Kagura descended from the sky and Naraku stepped out from the tree line. "Well, well… what do we have here?" Naraku said with a slight smirk, stepping a bit closer to the growling Angoli and Inuyasha.

Angoli watched him carefully, her eyes narrowing as her chest vibrated from her deep growl. She slowly brought her sword out, the blade turning purple as she focused her energy into it. "Cut the crap, Naraku and let's get this over with." She yelled, watching him as he chuckled lightly.

"So eager for your death little one?" he purred, watching her eyes flicker to a light pink to red. "Feh, you got that a little backwards, half breed." She said with a smirk before charging him, Inuyasha at her side. She waited, watching Inuyasha out of the corner of her eye, knowing he would attack first. After he made a downward stroke with his sword she swiped at Naraku's middle, growling in frustration as he moved out of the way, tentacles coming from under his pelt and snaking towards them as they jumped back, getting into position to strike again.

She licked her lips and hacked at a few tentacles, moving closer to Inuyasha. "When I say, use the backlash wave and aim for his stomach." She said telepathically. Inuyasha cast her a glance before nodding his head once and ripping through some tentacles of his own.

Miroku pulled out his sutras and threw them at a few demons, watching in satisfaction as they dissolved into nothing before looking towards Sango as her boomerang came into contact with her hand, sending her skidding back a foot before she threw it again.

Kagome and Kikyo did there best, shooting stray demons that broke through the circle of friends. They both hesitated some as they heard Angoli speaking to them. "Make sure you are ready and have an arrow. When I tell you, aim for Naraku's stomach. Careful not to his me or Inuyasha though."

The cat demon and dragon flew above them, killing any demons that came from the skies. Kouga battled Kagura, a smirk coming to his face as he sliced his claws through her fan just as she was about to use her attack, making her cry out and reach for her feather.

Kouga saw this and lunged again before she could use the feather, pinning her to the ground. "Now you will pay for killing my brothers!" he yelled, his claws descending on her.

Angoli shot a look towards Kouga. "Don't!" she said telepathically. "Pretend to kill her and tell her to lie still. I know she killed those close to you, but it wasn't her fault, Naraku holds her heart and would have killed her if she didn't do it!" she continued, grimacing as a tentacle grazed her arm, blood spurting from the wound. She snarled, her tail whipping around, poison dripping from the end and whipped through a few tentacles as she continued to hack through them. "Come on Naraku! You can do better than this!" she taunted, laughing. "I am barely breaking a sweat!"

Kouga hesitated before slamming his claws into Kagura's stomach, careful not to kill her before leaning close to her face. "Do yourself a favor and act dead. Angoli wishes you to live so that is the only reason you are still breathing." He said before sanding, watching her grimace from pain before walking away, his claws flexing. `Why didn't I kill her? Why did I listen to that wench?' he thought before racing off to attack more demons, keeping an eye out to make sure Kagura was still in her spot.

Naraku growled softly and his eyes started glowing as he began to float in the air. "You asked for it, wench!" he hissed, releasing a ball of miasma and dark energy in her direction. `Perfect.' She said before narrowing her eyes and charging her weapon. "Now Inuyasha!" she said telepathically.

Inuyasha nodded softly before running towards the miasma and sinking into it, followed closely by Angoli, whose own sword turned a dark purple and thrummed with power. Two explosions came from within the energy ball before blasting towards a very shocked Naraku, the ball three times larger than before and the tornados tearing through his body quickly.

"Now!" Kikyo and Kagome heard in their heads. They turned towards Naraku and charged their arrows with all the power they could, letting it go and collapsing to their knees in exhaustion. They watched in awe as Inuyasha and Angoli dropped back to the ground, watching the ball turn from black to purple before slamming into Naraku's body, followed by the arrows.

They heard Naraku cry out as he was ripped to pieces, and held their breath as they waited for the dust to settle. They all gasped and widened their eyes at the sight before them. Nothing lay in front of them, all plant life in a three-mile radius was destroyed, but two arrows that lay glowing in the middle of the destruction.

Angoli narrowed her eyes and sunk two one knees, sweating heavily, her breathes coming out in pants at her loss of energy. "Miroku, remove your prayer beads." They all turned slowly to the stunned Monk, watching, as he looked down at his hand, his eyes showing his hope and fear.

He slowly removed them, his eyes closing tightly, a grimace on his face and pointed his hand towards the empty field... Nothing. Cracking open an eye at Sango's loud whoop of joy he barely had time to react before she threw herself in his arms, hugging him to her tightly and squealing in delight.

Kagome and Kikyo started jumping up and down, wrapping their arms around each other and hugging tightly before they separated, Kikyo heading towards Inuyasha and Kagome heading toward Angoli, who stood still in her spot, her head bent towards the ground and her eyes closed tightly as she resisted the urge to pass out. She still had work to do…

Kagome placed a hand on Angoli's shoulder lightly and watched, her mood changing from happy to concerned in seconds. "Angoli… are you okay?" she asked, instantly checking the body parts she could see for any injuries.

Angoli nodded her head softly before standing up strait, her shoulders straitening as she turned towards Kagura slowly. She sheathed her sword quickly and approached her, watching as the wind witch breathed erratically. She dropped to her knees at Kagura's side, looking her body over for a moment before placing a hand over her injury and where her heart should have been.

She closed her eyes, and silver light poured from the palms of her hands and leaked into her fingertips. She gently touched Kagura's wound and chest, the silver light pooling around her fingers as it settled into her body.

Kagura and Kagome watched in awe, and Kagura gasped when she felt the injuries heal and the empty place where her heart should have been feel full, complete. Tears shined in her eyes as Kagura looked at Angoli, at a loss for words.

Angoli slowly opened her eyes before smiling softly and swaying some. "Your… free…" she breathed before collapsing next to Kagura, her eyes closing as she succumbed to the darkness.

Kagome gasped as she dropped to Angoli's side, checking her vital signs before sighing lightly as everyone gathered around, looking worried. "She is just exhausted. Let's get her somewhere more comfortable. I have a feeling with all the energy she used all at once she will be sleeping for a bit…"
