Chapter Nine: Inside Of The Sudden Light I Awaken

(WOW! Long title! On with the fic!)

Kagome stirred slightly, confused as to where she was. She looked around and saw she was on the ground. "Ugh…What happened?" A bright light suddenly shone out of no where. She was fully awake now. She heard someone start walking towards her. As it walked closer, blocking the light, Kagome gasped.

Yusuke was panicking. Kagome had been sleeping in bed, and then when he woke up she was gone. He crept out of his room and walked down the stairs. There, waiting in the lobby was a figure. Yusuke didn't know what to think, so he just stood there with his mouth open slightly.

"Wh-what is going on?" Kagome stuttered as the figure stepped closer to her. It bent down beside her, and Kagome was frightened. It gently stroked one cheek.

"It's okay," it said gently. "There's nothing to worry about." And Kagome relaxed into its touch.

"Why are you here?" Yusuke demanded quietly. "What do you want?" The figure took slow steps towards Yusuke. Almost as if it were hesitant.

"I've come here to talk to you," it said. It motioned for Yusuke to sit down with him.

Kagome completely melted into the touch. All her worries, fears…they were gone. They didn't matter. Kagome turned to look up at it. "Come with me. We shall sit down and talk," the figure said. It helped Kagome to her feet and led her inside to a table.

"I must talk with you Yusuke, and Kagome. Stay here while I get her," the figure said. It walked outside, leaving Yusuke alone to have his thoughts swirl around his brain like crazy. `What is he doing here? Why is he here? WHY?!' The figure came back in with Kagome and she sat down next to Yusuke. "For you, Miss Kagome, my name is Kurama," he said. "I have been tracking you for quiet some time."

Fox woke up yawning. She looked around and saw Shippo lying in the next bed. `Where are Kagome and Yusuke?' she thought. She crawled into the next bed and started shaking Shippo awake. "Shippo!" she said softly.

"Get away Inuyasha! Let us sleep!" the kit mumbled. Fox had on a confused look. Inuyasha? She shook him more.

"Shippo! It's me, Fox. Kagome and Yusuke are missing," she said gently. Shippo sat bolt upright when he heard that Kagome was gone.

"Where?!" he cried. He looked around frantically.

"I don't know hun. But I'm hungry. You wanna go downstairs and get some breakfast while we wait for them?" Fox asked him. Shippo nodded and they both got dressed and headed downstairs.

"I came here because, well, Yusuke ran away. Koenma told me to track you down. Plus, you're like my little brother. I owe you my life, Yusuke. You almost sacrificed your own life to help save my mother, and I haven't yet repaid you," Kurama said. "But I also came because Koenma needs your help. There appears to be an evil villain on the loose named Naraku. He poses the Shikon no Tama, and is VERY powerful. We need your help Yusuke," Kurama said.

Kagome's breath caught. `Naraku!' she thought frantically. `Naraku is here!' "N-Naraku?" she said timidly.

Kurama nodded. "Yes. Naraku is his name. He is more powerful than I Yusuke. We NEED you!" Kurama pleaded. "I am to take you to Koenma right away." Kurama stood up.

"K-Kagome? Y-Yusuke?" a timid voice asked.

Fox and Shippo walked downstairs. They saw a young teen in a pink school uniform talking to Kagome and Yusuke. Thanks to his youkai senses, Shippo heard every word, and called out their names timidly. They all snapped their heads towards him. "Are you guys going to…leave us?" he asked, tears welling up in his eyes.

Kagome got up and ran to his side. "Of course not hun! Remember, I promised!" she said, hugging him. `But I don't know about Yusuke…I won't let him go alone either!' she thought. Tears formed in her eyes as her next thought struck her. `I promise I will. I just hope I won't break that promise-again…'

Yusuke sat there, a bit shocked. `How did he find me? I don't want to leave Kagome and the others! Hell, I WON'T!' he thought. He turned to Kurama. "I'm not going. I'm not leaving them. Tell Koenma to just find another damn Spirit Detective!" Yusuke told Kurama.

Kurama was touched by his loyalty to all his friends. "Yusuke, I'm afraid you have no choice. Koenma told me that if I had to, drag you back to him. You have to come Yusuke," Kurama told him.

Yusuke crossed his arms over his chest and held his nose high. "No!" he yelled. "I won't go!"

Kagome felt the tears well up in her eyes, and a few slide down her cheeks. `Oh Gods! Just like Inuyasha!' she mentally cried.

Kurama sighed. His friend was so stubborn sometimes.

Fox stood there, silent. She watched as the cute red haired guy walked over to Yusuke and stood next to him. Kurama was it, opened a portal, and looked to Yusuke. His eyes looked sad and tired, and she just wanted to hug him, tell him everything would be all right.

She watched as he spread some powder over Yusuke, and she watched as Yusuke fell unconscious. The cute guy aka Kurama picked up the sleeping Yusuke. She watched as Kagome took a hesitant step closer. Kurama then walked thru the portal. Kagome screamed something, but she was in a daze. She felt Shippo pick her up, and run after Kagome into the portal.

Botan sighed and paced around. `What was he thinking running away like that? He nearly made Kurama cry! Kurama thinks of him as a little brother, and he just goes off to leave him to worry. When they get there, I'm going to give Yusuke a piece of my mind!' she thought angrily.

Kuwabara sat silently, a bit worried to tell the truth. Urameshi was like his brother. How dare he leave them?! `Urameshi! When you get back here I'm gonna pound you! First you go and die on me, and then you run away! How could you?! WHY?!' he thought desperately.

Hiei stood there, emotionless as ever. On the inside, he had a TINY bit of worry haunting him though. He was going to kill if something hurt his brother. They had gotten closer when Keiko dumped him. He felt bad for Yusuke. Nothing would harm his brother anymore. He remembered how Yusuke had cried that night, and almost tore down a forest with his anger. He had been watching. When Yusuke exhausted himself, he slumped to the ground, and cried. That's when he came and talked to him. `Yusuke, you better be all right. I don't want my clean slate get marked' he thought.

Koenma was at his desk, waiting impatiently for Kurama to return with Yusuke. `If I loose him father will kill me! Kurama, you better get back here fast!' he screamed mentally. Then, as if on cue, the portal opened and out Kurama and Yusuke popped. But along with them were another kitsune, and two beautiful young women. The first one that popped out had long shiny black hair, and gray eyes flecked with blue. She had on a miniskirt, and a bit revealing top. The kit had long dark orange hair pulled into a ponytail, a blue shirt, and jeans. And the third girl was maybe an inch or three taller than the first girl. She had deep blue eyes and long, curly hair that was strawberry blonde and pulled into ponytail that reached mid back. "Welcome back to Spirit World Yusuke. Who are your friends?" Koenma asked the now awake Yusuke.

A/N: Yay! Another chapter done! Hope I didn't confuse ya! I started this last night and was all sleepy, so I had to finish it today!
