The three males tracked through the forest. Kurama stopped at one point, a frown was clearly shown on his face.

- Kurama-san, is something wrong? asked Inuyasha.

- I am not sure, my nose is telling me two different things, said Kurama.

- I agree Kurama-san, said Sesshoumaru and sniffed the air.

- If we continue to search for them and we find them… They are either mating or killing each other off, said Kurama. - Although I find it very hard to believe.

- Why is that? asked Inuyasha.

- Because Hiei don't like females, he always despises them. But this female has got him very excited.

- Well, I can understand that. I have met with Ayame once and she is one hot wolf, smiled Inuyasha.

They picked up their track and continued to search for the clashing titans.

And they found them, in a meadow surrounded by pine trees. They were battling. Kurama saw his friend's taunting smirk and it seemed to anger the female even more. But he had to agree with Inuyasha, this female wolf was indeed beautiful.

- Shall we cut in? asked Sesshoumaru.

- I believe it is best not to, Hiei can be a bit edgy if you stop a fight he is in, said Kurama. - But we can tell them to join us in the village when they are done fighting.

The inu brothers nodded and Kurama stepped out and began walking towards the two fighters.

Hiei was surprised to see his friend in his fox demon form, and he was even more surprised to see that Kurama was in control, not the mischievous fox spirit.

- Hiei-san, what are you doing here? How did you get here? asked Kurama.

- The brat king sent me here to keep an eye on the ferry girl. He seems to be rather upset about her staying in this era because she had found a husband. He did not quite believe it so he sent me here to check up on things. But then I ran into this bitch over here and…

- I am not a bitch you asshole, snarled Ayame and raised her fists into the air.

- Friends? What friends? asked Ayame.

- Kagome-san, Inuyasha, my mate and the houshi, you have met them before if I am not mistaken, said Kurama.

- Kagome-san? Oh, you mean that girl with the funny outfit?

- Yes, that is the girl, smiled Kurama.

- Well, then I will see to that I don't kill him, only spank his fire ass a bit, snickered Ayame and her green eyes glimmered with sensual anger.

- Ha, you really think you can get your paws on my ass little bitch? growled Hiei.

- Do we have an agreement? Don't kill each other, and when you have settled this, come back to the village? prompted Kurama.

- Agreed!! shouted Hiei

- Agreed!! answered Ayame.

- Good, now continue children with your little play, laughed Kurama and stepped away just in the nick of time.

- I'll get you for this later Kurama, snarled Hiei and blocked a powerful kick from the female wolf.

Kurama laughed softly again and turned away and walked back to the brothers.

Kurama saw the gaping mouths of Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha. They could not believe what they saw. Kurama's friend did not pull his punches against the wolf and she did neither.

- Are you sure about this Kurama-san? asked Sesshoumaru with a frown.

- Yes, I am, Hiei-san has never backed down on his word before; he will not kill the female. But I think they need to get this out of their system first. Let them fight. Come; let's go back to the village, said Kurama.

- What are they fighting about? wondered Inuyasha and saw the wolf deck the male with a raw punch.

- I have no idea, said Kurama. - But my guess is that Hiei-san put his foot in his mouth and insulted her. He is good at insulting people.

- Oh.. I see, said Inuyasha with a smirk.

- Let's get back to our mates, said Kurama but regretted his words when he saw the pained expression that flashed over Sesshoumaru's face for a short second.

Without saying anything more the three went back to Kaede's village. The two fighters had to "kiss and make up" all by themselves.

At the Sunset Shrine…
Kagome climbed up the ladder in the old well and walked out from the well house. She saw Souta outside, playing around with a football.

- Souta!! she yelled and waved her hand.

- Neesan!! Souta's face lit up and he ran over to her. - You are back!!

- Yeah, I am back, but only for a few hours. I will go back later. Where is mama?

- I think she is in the kitchen, said Souta.

- Ok, see you later little brother.

She ruffled his hair and went inside the house. And indeed, she could find her mother in the kitchen.

- Hello mama, she said with cheerful voice.

- Kagome-chan! You are home, said Mrs. Higurashi and hugged her daughter tight.

- Yes, but only for a few hours. I wanted to talk to you about something, said Kagome and bit her lip.

- What happened?

- You know you can talk to me about everything, said Mrs. Higurashi with a soft smile and motioned her daughter to sit down so they could talk.

Kagome got a cup of tea from her mother and she nodded in thanks.

- Mama, I have found me a husband, said Kagome, not wasting any time on going around the subject.

- Yes, his name is Miroku, he is the monk that travels with us. I love him and…

- You are married already?

- No, not yet, but we want to be married.

- Miroku, is that the boy with the cursed hand? asked Mrs. Higurashi.

- Yes, but our little group has grown much, we now have help from a demon named Kurama and Inuyasha's older brother Sesshoumaru has joined the group. And a girl from the spirit realm, her name is Botan. She used to be a ferry girl, said Kagome ecstatic.

- Ferry girl?

- She used to guide the spirits of the dead over the river Styx, explained Kagome.

- Ohh, how interesting. But back to the marriage thing, have you had sex yet?

- MOM!!

- Well, a mom got to know, smiled the older woman.

Kagome blushed deeply and that was answer enough for Mrs. Higurashi.

- Are you sure about this Kagome-chan?

- Yes mama, I am sure. I love him, I have loved him for quite awhile, but I have been to shy to say anything, but thanks to happenings around the group gave me the courage to tell him how I felt.

- What if you get pregnant?

- Would you be mad if I was pregnant? asked Kagome and felt her heart stop for a few seconds.

- No dear, I would not be mad. I think you are a bit young, but I would not be mad. Are you pregnant already? Asked Mrs. Higurashi and took her daughter's hands into her own.

- No I don't think so, but I am not taking anything against it. I want to have a baby with Miroku, and I am hoping that I can take him through the well so you can meet him.

- It would be wonderful dear, smiled Mrs. Higurashi.

- Perhaps jii-san could perform a simple ceremony for us?

- I am sure he could do that for you. But I am curious, I was so sure that you would end up with that boy with the cute dog ears.

- Inuyasha have found a soul mate in Botan. They are expecting a baby as well. And they have adopted the little kitsune cub, you know, Shippou. They are a family now.

- I am glad for him. And I am happy for you Kagome, very happy. I hope I get to see my son in law one day, said Mrs. Higurashi with a warm smile.

- Thank you mama, it means the world to me.

Mother and daughter hugged each other tightly.

When they pulled away Kagome blushed a bit.

- I wonder, do we have any Ramen left at home, or do I have to go shopping? asked Kagome.

- I went shopping yesterday so I managed to stock up quite a bit. You can take as much as you can carry dear.

- Thank you mama.

They worked together to pack Kagome's gigantic yellow back pack with Ramen (mostly for Inuyasha) and candy for the children. They talked about babies and wedding dresses and Kagome ended up promising her mother to come back in a few days so they could go and look for a dress. And she promised to try to take Miroku through the well so he could meet her family.
Mrs. Higurashi followed her daughter back to the well house and they hugged each other again.

- I love you mama, whispered Kagome.

- I love you to Kagome. Be careful now.

- I promise.

- Good, tell everyone hi from us, said Mrs. Higurashi.

- I will.

- See you in three days.

- Bye!

- Bye!

Souta came just in time to see his older sister fall down the well. He took his mother's hand and asked what happened.

- I will tell you later Souta-chan, come and let's eat now.

- Ok mama, said Souta and followed his mother back into the house.
