Chapter 3. " Sesshomaru's and Kurama's encounter "



About a week has passed...... and the group has collected a couple shards, which is considered to be very good since there was lots of " In-between-verbal-battles ".
" Kurama, your a fox demon, but you sure don't look like one........." Kagome said
" I WAS........there's only part of me that is..............." Kurama said, but suddenly came to a halt.
" Umm...... what's wrong Kurama? " Shippou asked
Kurama stilled, " KAGOME! watch out! don't step over there! "
" Wha-aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! " Kagome fell through the ground like there was a hole. Kurama jumped for her but got dragged in too. " Kurama! Kagome! " Yusuke attempted to jump too,
" No dimwitt! you'll get sucked in too! " Genkai held him back, " There must be a cave or something underneath..."
" How the fuck do we get there? " Inu Yasha asked
" One word....................DIG........" Genkai stated
" Oh Shit! you've gotta be kidding me! I'm a dog but I don't dig for bones! " Inu Yasha refused
" You're right,........... you're digging for your friends that had fallen into quick sand! now get to work!....." Genkai ordered

" Owwwwwwww..............." Kagome moaned, " Where am I?....... Kurama? Kurama!? "
" I'm.... right here......"
" Where? where are you?! I can't see you! "Kagome looked everywhere, no sign of him
" That's because your sitting on me........." Kurama managed to say
" Oh! sorry! " Kagome quickly got off him, " You must of broke my fall......... but where are we? " Kagome studied the cave...
Kurama dusted of his clothes, " I don't know........ It looks like a carvern.........I think the exit is.... over there......" Kurama looked left.....
" Gak! You! "
" Ah! Jaken! what are you doing here!? " Kagome pointed to the toad
" You should answer me! " Jaken yelled back waving his staff
" Hey! point that thing somewhere else!" Kagome smack the stick out of her face
" Ha! foolish mortal girl! I'm going to burn you into ashes! "Jaken protested
" Kagome,.... what are you doing?........." Kurama asked as he snuck from behind the toad and took his staff away.
" Hey! give that back! This isn't funny! " Jaken jumped for his staff
Kurama threw the stick aside
" Thank you...." Kagome said
Jaken rushed to retrive his staff,
" Jaken...." A deep voice echoed
" Ah! umm... me lord........." Jaken rushed to the side of the figure.
" Lord Sesshomaru! It's that girl Inu Yasha's with! " Jaken told his master.
* Sesshomaru?! .....* Kurama thought
" It's Sesshomaru! " Kagome stated
Sesshomaru appeared out of the shadows... and looked and Kurama wide eyed...
" It's you......Youko Kurama, the legendary thief, I'm surprised,..... you choose such a pathetic human as a diguse.." said Sesshomaru
" Sesshomaru.............." Kurama glared at the dog demon
" What? wait, Kurama, you know Sesshomaru? " the confused Kagome asked
Kurama didn't answer, but Sesshomaru spoke
" We meet again.......... my old rival........."
" Likewise..........." Both smiled wickedly
Suddenly, an explosion through the cavern wall. When the dust cleared, there stood, Inu Yasha with his Tetsusaiga, Yusuke, Hiei, Kuwabara, Genkai, Sango, Miroku, Shippou, and the fire cat Kirara. They were a all filthy, covered in dirt from head to toe.
" Kagome! Kurama! are you okay?! " Inu Yasha yelled
" We'll meet again...." with these words, Sesshomaru disappeared.
" We're........fine......you needn't worry...." Kurama replied
Inu Yasha sniffed the air, " It's,........Sesshomaru's scent, he was here! What did he want?! " Inu Yasha demanded
" Kurama.....What was he talking about? about....rivalry....? " Kagome asked
" I do not wish to speak of it right here...." Kurama responded, and walked to the fresh dug hole Inu Yasha made.

" Inu Yasha,... Might I ask you a question? " Kurama asked
" Ya just did...." Inu Yasha mumbled
Kurama smiled and just proceeded with the question, " How, do you know Sesshomaru? "
" He's...my....."
" Brother " Kagome responded for him
" Hey! did I ask for your help?!..........besides,... he's my HALF BROTHER..." Inu Yasha corrected
" Brother?...." Kurama surprised
" HALF BROTHER! " Inu Yasha once again corrected
" My appologies.....But..., it seems,....like you despise your...., HALF BROTHER......." Kurama said
" Yeah?....what of it? " Inu Yasha grumbled
" Interesting......." Kurama replied
" So what's you story? How do YOU know Sesshomaru..." Inu Yasha asked sarcasticlly
" ~ sigh ~ .......Sesshomaru..................It,......was many of hundreds of years ago.......................
( Flashback of the past )
Youko Kurama landed quietly on the steps of the castle.
" Youko Kurama,... what brings you to my castle..? " The great dog demon of the west, asked
" My lord,... I only wish to see your son,...Sesshomaru..." The kitsune answered
Sesshomaru appeared suddenly behind his father.
" Wtih permission, may I speak with him,...alone......" Kurama waited for the great lord's answer
He simply nodded
Youko nodded back, and jumped on the top of the roof swiftly, Sesshomaru followed along.Kurama looked at the moon, " Sesshomaru,....I've known you for quite a while,... You've been a loyal friend, and a fair rival..." Kurama continued looking at the moon, Sesshomaru raised a eyebrow.
" I ask for one request,...one final challenge..." Kurama finished
" What do you speak of?....."Sesshomaru stared
Kurama's head dropped, and stared back at Sesshomaru, " I've decided to head East, and increase my abilities......"
" East?.....Why the opposite of this territory?..." Sesshomaru questioned
" I have heard of a place called Makai, Where demons roam freely..... " Kurama continued, " I understand you cannot participate in my journey....., .........but I promise you,.... I will be back, and we shall fight again...." Kurama closed his eyes, and waited for Sesshomaru to speak
" Hmmm..............Very well,....." Sesshomaru accepted his friend's departure.....................................
( End of flashback of the past )..............You see Inu Yasha,.... I knew your brother as a fox demon...." Kurama finished with his story
" Feh, my tanechigai actually had friends?.........." Inu Yasha grumbled
Kurama chuckled a bit, and put a smile on. Kagome yawned, her eyelids fell heavy, she slowly started to lean on Inu Yasha. " Uh,..... Kagome.....? " Inu Yasha sweatdropped not knowing what to do.
" Let her rest on you,.... I'm afraid my story is too long for her ......." Kurama suggested, he got up, and started walking along the path. Inu Yasha watched Kurama, he sighed thinking of what he had just told him, * Sesshomaru ............... Kurama,.........I still don't understand.....* he soon fell asleep himself

It was nearing midnight, Kurama still awake standing nearby a lake, as if he was waiting for something, " Hello old friend......" Kurama suddenly said
Sesshomaru snuck from behind him, " It's been 60 years for me since I've seen you, will you fulfill your promise? " Sesshomaru asked
" I never break promises...." Kurama answered, then his body glowed, light gleamed from everywhere, a strong wind surrounded the area. Sesshomaru stood there, as if there was nothing happening, the wind tangled his silver hair, and his eyes turned red once more. When the wind vanished, there was no Shuiichi Minamino, there was only Youko Kurama now.......
" Hmmm........ just as I remember you......." Sesshomaru was pleased with the results
" Good, let us begin....." the fox demon replied

Kagome shifted a bit to make comfort, she woke up looking at the direction Kurama went, * That's strange......I feel a strong energy coming over there.........hmmm.......I shouldn't wake up Inu Yasha, he'll just yell at me again and wake up all the others...* So Kagome decided to go alone, she walked to the lake where Kurama previously was.

No one there.....

" Wait a minute....... this place... it was-" She was interupted when a tree next to her exploded, " AAAAHHHHHH!!!! " she quickly kneeled down and covered her head.

Inu Yasha's ears twitched and quickly jumped up, Hiei nearly fell out of the tree,... again...
" Argh! How many times has that girl nearly injure me with her scream! " Hiei dropped down safely to the ground
" What the fuck are you waiting for let's go dog boy! " Yusuke argued
Surprisingly, Inu Yasha didn't argue back and just went off.

Kurama jumped down next to her, he turned to look at her, " Ka-Kagome?! " Kurama didn't get to say anything else since a glowing whip was thrown at him, as he quickly dodged. Kagome opened her eyes and looked for the one who called her name, " Who's that? " She whispered to herself, she studied the fox demon, white hair, ears, golden eyes, and a tail. He fought skillfuly, but the opponent caught her attention, " Sesshomaru! " She gasped
Inu Yasha touched her shoulder, her head turned around quickly.
" It's my brother! and............is that,........ Kurama?! " Inu Yasha looked closely narrowing his eyes
They both stopped when they noticed there was an audience, Both looked calm, didn't even break a sweat after Kagome saw them battle intensely. The rest came to join the commotion
" What the hell is going on here?! Never fear! Kazuma Kuwabara is here! ha!ha! " Kuwabara said proudly
" Someone shut that ugly buffoon up...." Hiei muttered.
" And I thought Inu Yasha was a loud mouth..." Sango poked at Miroku
" Hey! " Inu Yasha threatened with his fists
" Guys! I think your forgeting something....." Kagome pointed at the two
" Humph,.... little brother, you'll always be pathetic ...." Sesshomaru stated
Inu Yasha gave a low growl, " Grrrr..................Sesshomaru..........." Inu yasha spelled out his name slowly
No one spoke............
Kagome all of a sudden felt woozy, everything around her was spinning.....it was like her whole body was paralyzed, she blacked out....

The headache was finally gone, Kagome opened her eyes to find Genkai looking at her, she sat up, " Wha, what happened?...."
" I don't know, you fainted suddenly....and your back at the hut..." Genkai told her
Kagome rubbed her head and looked at Kaede stirring something....
" Don't worry child, ye is alright now...." Kaede said trying to sooth Kagome
A person came in, " You okay?..." Koga asked seriously, Kagome nodded and was about to ask where the others were, but Koga read her mind, " The others are outside, they've been worried about you...." Koga replied
She stood up and walked out the hut, " It's,..... sun set..... I've been out for almost a day?......." Kagome said to herself
" Kagome...."
Kagome turned around to find Sango, " Sango.......you don't have to ask me, I'm fine...." She said
" That's good to know........ When you fainted, the fox demon you saw, which was Kurama, turned back to human, and rushed to your side,... Sesshomaru told Kurama that it wasn't finished, I didn't know what they were talking about, but....... Sesshomaru walked away, then Inu Yasha told us to take you back to the village, he said that he would go look for the rest of the jewel himself, Yusuke, Hiei, Kurama, and Kazuma went along with him, They told me to stay here with you, I don't know how far they went......" Sango informed Kagome
" What?....... they can't just leave me here! I'm going to look for them! " Kagome ran towards their previous settlement
" Wait Kagome! you can't go alone! wait, what am I saying? you can't go at all! you need to recover! " Sango yelled after her, but it was no use Kagome was far off, " Miroku! She has gone off! "
Miroku woke from his sleep, " What?! then why are you just standing there?! we have to go after her! "

Kagome ran, and ran.... she finally stopped to take a breath, " They, ..(gasp)..couldn't..(gasp)..have..(gasp).. gone.(gasp)..that far...... " she thought, it was already dark, " Oh great! I have no weapons! how am I going to defend myself?" She finally thought of.
She walked along the path, she stopped and gazed at the fimliar setting, " This, is the lake where I fainted.......... but the lake....It, it was in my dream I had a few days ago....... was my dream real? " She didn't know that she was walking to the lake, her body didn't listen to her head.
* What am I doing? * she thought
Kagome stepped into the lake, she walked till the water reached her waist. The shimmering water glowed around her,
* What's happening to me? *
her nails got longer, and well sharpened. Her long black hair grew to her ankles, her ears pointed. her eyes became more narrow, with blue eyes, and dark blue colored eyelids. One white strip on each cheek tattoed on her face, even her school uniform turned into a beautiful pale pink kimono......
* This,...this IS my dream........ *
" Ka-ka-ka-..........ka-kagome.....? I don't believe it....... is it really you? "
" Huh?.........who-" Kagome turned around, Inu Yasha, staring at her drooling.
Kurama, Hiei, Kuwabara, and Yusuke was there too, amazed at what they had witnessed.
