A/N~Ok I know its been a long time since Ive updated but still, muse is on a strike or something damn her, but I hope this chap turns out ok without her and does not dissapoint. Huggles and smiles Mija..:-)

Chapter 10~Tension!

~~~Kagome made her way back to the little camp site and looked around for Hiei. At first she was a bit worried because she couldnt see him and wondered if he had indeed heard her call out his name when she had dreamt that naughty dream of hers about him. She almost screamed and had a heart attack when the spikey haired demon jumped in front of her out of a tree. Damn she hated that. Why did he have to have a thing with trees? Inuyasha had scared the living shit out of her on more the one occasion by jumping out of a tree in front of her.

"You little shit, what the hell are you trying to do to me?? scare me into a heart attack?? dont ever do that again!" Kagome yelled at him and Hiei growled. His ruby eyes glared red and bored into her. She shivered, wondering yet again if he knew, or if he could see in her mind and see what she had dreamt.

"If I wanted you dead you would be dead...now go to sleep." came the cold and angry retort of Hiei. Kagome glared at him as he glared back. He was growling at her and she wanted so badly to slap his cute little face, that of throw him down onto the grass and make him growl in a whole new different way. Shaking her head she growled her self, trying to rid the images in her mind. She didnt want this demon. Stupid dream, she thought.

"Go to sleep?? you think you can boss me around?" Kagome dared, and the look in his fiery red eyes changed just a bit, flashed a bit more with some internal fire.

"I thought you were tired?? Do you have something else in mind?" he asked in a low calm tone, that hinted at just a bit of inuendo, that Kagome shivered. What was he thinking, she wondered.

"Wh..What do you mean?" she asked with nervousness. No, no no he couldnt be implying what she thought he was, could he? Or was that just wishfull thinking? Grrrrr. Kagome shook her head again and cursed under her breath. What was SHE thinking? She could not, would not do anything with this man slash demon. It was all those freaking drugs that Inari had given her for days, it had to be. Why else would she want to sleep with a demon she didnt even know?

"Me??? I dont mean anything..your the one who said she was tired, now you dont wish to sleep??...I wonder why not? Would you rather do something else then?" he asked in a husky growl and those eyes flashed with fire yet again. Now there was no mistaking what he meant. Youd have to be blind or a fool, not to catch the inuendo in his voice, to see the glint of heat in his eyes, to ignore the husky note of desire in his growl.

"Stop Hiei...you dont want this...its this forest...its..its making us want...need things we other wise wouldnt want." Kagome explained, trying to shake her own desire and need as she tried to convince him. She didnt know him, she didnt know if he would disregard her wishes and take her against her will or something. Hell, in her state right now, she didnt think she would fight him even if he tried. But she had to try right?

"Go to bed...Now." came his reply, still calm and cool, but no less demanding. It was a command and she knew it. And she knew if she disobeyed she just might push him over the tight edge he was on and provoke him. She knew enough about demons to know that they held thier animal instincts on tight strings, but pushed enough, they could easily snap loose and she wasnt sure if she wanted that from this dark haired demon.

"Alright...Goodnight Hiei." she replied in a more subdued voice. For this moment she had to submit and hope that it would cool his demon blood. Luckily for her she saw him out of the corner of her eyes and saw his whole body shiver as his eyes lost some of that fiery glow. She layed down and didnt look at him directly as she watched him shake his head as if trying to clear it.

~~~What the fuck? Hiei thought as he shook his head and felt his senses coming back to him. He knew he had been loosing control. He had watched himself from inside himself, as his demon side had been more than ready willing and able to take the miko right then and there. After that little episode at the spring, his blood had boiled, the need, the heat within him had churned and begged to be released. He had hoped into a near by tree and tried to cool his blood, but when the Miko had come into the clearing, he could smell her, smell the sweet scent of a woman who had been sated, yet still hungry for more. It drove him nuts. He couldnt help but jump down from the tree. Yes part of him had wanted to startle her, his demon side wanted to play, wanted to intimidate his prey. But she had screamed at him, her scent had went from a slight tinge of fear to anger and that scent nearly had him tearing off his clothes and throwing her down and fucking her wether she willed it or not. Then there was her tone. That defiant arrogant tone that was yelling at him, calling him names, demanding his demons side to punish her. Show her that he WAS the boss and that she would do well to learn it. It had taken a lot of control to pull the riegns in of his demon blood, the bitch was smart enough to know that if she hadnt submitted to him just then, that he would of taken her, he would of punished her and taught her exactly who was boss.

~~~Hiei looked over to where the Miko pretended to sleep on the ground on the other side of the fire. He wanted to growl, wanted to tear something up, cut it into little pieces. He could still smell her scent, but he had more control now, but just the thought of knowing he had almost totally lost it was not something he took well. He prided himself on his control. So it did not sit well with him to know he had come soo very close to loosing it just now. If the Miko had not backed down? He shuddered to think of what might happen.

~~~Still feeling tense and totally on egde Hiei settled against the trunk of a tree and closed his eyes, letting his Jagen open to keep watch as he tried to rest his weariness, hopefully some sleep would help him gather more of his strength to get out of this damn forest.

~~~Kagome knew the minute Hiei had sat down and closed his eyes. She peeked out from her own sleeping spot and watched as a third eye on his forehead opened up as his normal two closed in sleep. Ok the third eye was a bit freaky, it was the first she had ever seen it and it had made uncomfortable, but after a little bit she didnt mind it so much. She felt an aura coming off of it. She didnt feel any danger or anything except a peacefull alertness around it. Thats when she realized that his third eye was open to watch our for them as he and she both slept. Somehow that made her feel more calm, more relaxed, and before she knew it, she was fast asleep. Her barrier was still up, Hiei's third eye was open, nothing could bother them this night. Or so she had thought. She forgot one thing about her barrier though. It only created a dome around them, it did not penetrate the ground underneath them.
