Hello people. This is my second story but no one seemed to like my first one so I'm back on the horse, so to speak, and ready to try again. I hope you like this one. Other people seemed to. I will update every week, even if I don't have reviews. But I would appreciate them. Just as long as I know that people are reading. Anyways, I will start my story, hope you guys and gals enjoy!

Chapter 1: greeted by an angry hanyou

Kagome was looking down the dark well. It had been 3 weeks since she had seen the feudal ages and all her friends. `Ok guys, I'm coming back.'

A week before

Inuyasha walked quickly back. He had been gone for 2 days. Kikyo had come to see him and asked that he came with her.

"Please Inuyasha. I wish to talk to you. Please come with me."

She had begged him; even though she would never sink that far down to beg for a half-breed's company.

"Alright, I'll go with you."

They had spent a wonderful 2 days with each other. Playing in hot springs enjoying being with one another and one more thing.

They had fucked. Over and over again. Inuyasha had thought about how much this would hurt kagome if she ever found out and decided that no one would know. He would act as if nothing had happened.

"Inuyasha, where have you been?"

He jumped into a near by tree. The voice had startled him from thought.

"Oh uh Miroku. I was just out. I had to get a break you know how it is."

Inuyasha gave off a fake I'm-hiding-something kind of smile.

"A break with kikyo I presume."

Inu sweat dropped then pounced on the monk.

"If you tell anybody, I will slit you from nose to belly button."

"iv vontv telv anvvody."

"What?"

He took his hand off the monk's mouth alloying him to speak.

"I said I won't tell anybody."

"Good. You better not."

Present time

Inuyasha had thought about all that had happened many times while waiting for kagome to return. He had also thought about going to get her but decided the less time he spent looking at her smiling face the better. The guilt wasn't as bad as it could be.

"Hello! Inuyasha are you up there?"

`Kagome!'

"It's about time wench! I thought ya'd never get here!"

Inu jumped off the tree branch he had been resting on and helped the miko out of the black well.

"Sorry Inuyasha. I had end of year exams. I'm done for the year, which means I won't have to go back as often. Only to see my family."

"Good maybe we can actually find some shards now, instead of only one every week!"

Kagome stared at the disgruntled hanyou.

"Why are you acting this way?"

Inuyasha chewed his bottom lip for a second then turned away.

"Do you have your bag with you?"

"Ya it's right here."

He grabbed then walked toward the village. As soon as they got there Inuyasha was gone again. He didn't want to be around kagome. Not right now anyway. It was too painful to look at her face just like he thought it would be.

`I'm sorry kagome. I wish I hadn't but then again I really wanted to. I'm so confused I love you kagome but kikyo gave her life up. I don't know what to do.'

"Sango, what the hell is the matter with Inuyasha?"

"What do you mean?"

"He hasn't been acting the same since I came back. It's like he doesn't want me to be here."

Sango shrugged, "I have no clue kagome."

"But I do."

Miroku had just come into the hut.

"What is the matter with him then Miroku? And were is my Shippo?"

"Please come with me so that we can talk."

"You mean he and kikyo are together for good? And my little Shippo has left us for the time being?"

"Yes kag. I'm sorry you have to find this all out the first night you got back. It's a lot to swallow. I wasn't supposed to tell you either."

Kagome smiled, "that's ok. I had to find out from some one. I will stay away from Inuyasha as much as I can. I can't help but love him the way I do. But that must change."

Miroku nodded and stood up. "May I accompany you back to the hut?"

"No I want to stay here for a little while. I will see you later Miroku. Thank you."

"Your welcome kagome-san."

The monk walked away, leaving a very depressed miko behind.

Inuyasha did not return until the morning. He was tired and had large bags under his eyes. He walked slowly into the village toward kaede's hut.

"I'm back."

Every one was sitting around a small fire eating ramen. He declined the bowl sango was handing him.

"what's the matter Inuyasha you never turn down a bowl of ramen?"

he hesitated then looked at kag. As soon as he did she turned her head to avoid his gaze.

`she knows.'

"Quickly! Inuyasha, Miroku, sango hurry it's Naraku!" the old woman was yelling for them to come outside. The group gathered their things hurrying for the outside.

Dark clouds swirled in the sky, blocking out the sun. Lightning struck the earth knocking some villagers to the ground.

"hello kagome my quarrel is now with you."
