Hey you guys. I don't own InuYasha or Yu Yu Hakusho!

I have decided this is gonna be a Hiei/Kagome fic so back off Kurama/Kagome lovers!! Kurama and Botan share as a couple in this one!

Chapter 1:It Always Happens to Me

She ran, she ran as fast as her legs could carry her. She didn't cry. Not yet. Depression took over Kagome's body and her heart seemed to be the only thing to want to run from the oncoming InuYasha. She had fallen multiple times from her running so fast. She still wouldn't cry. She promised herself from that moment on that she would become stronger. She would never cry again unless in excruciating pain.

She came to the well and hoped in without her backpack. What she never noticed was the bright pink light that followed her in. She walked out of the closet door of the temple and ran to find her grandmother. The little pink thing was the other half of the jewel. Thoughts of the horrid sight just played before her flashed through her mind as she ran around corners and hallways to find Genkai.

****FLASHBACK****

Kagome had just come from Keade's hut from some miko training. She had started training a few days ago so InuYasha wouldn't call her weak. She was walking with her large yellow pack on her back searching for InuYasha and the others. They had said they were going to talk about something very important. She figured it was because to day was her 16th birthday and they were probably discussing it.

She walked around until she heard what sounded like a small scream. She started to run. That scream sounded a lot like Sango's and she didn't want her friends getting injured. She ran for a good five minutes until she came to a clearing with InuYasha in the middle of it. At the time she was just staring at InuYasha's back and he was breathing rather heavily.

Then she looked at the ground. Everywhere….in little pieces….were her friends. She couldn't even make out whose parts where whose. The only thing she noticed was their hair and clothes. Even those were ripped apart and covered in blood. But what bothered her most was, InuYasha stood in one piece in the middle of it all. "InuYasha?" She whispered.

He turned around really fast and the first thing she noticed was his eyes. They were red. She shook her head no many times as he slowly crept forward. He spoke, "Hey bitch! give Kikiyo her soul back!" Kagome screamed as loud as she could as InuYasha leapt towards her with his claws flexed. She waited for pain to come, but it never did. She opened one eye cautiously and saw that Naraku had chosen that time to come into the clearing and push InuYasha aside causing a different fight.

Kagome did the first thing that came to mind was `Drop the bag and run'. Although she wasn't told what had happened, she figured InuYasha had his sword taken away by Kikiyo or Naraku and Kikiyo coaxed InuYasha into getting her soul back. Kagome ran and didn't even bother saying bye to Keade or finishing her training. Kagome stopped the first time she fell and swore to herself. "I will become stronger. I will never cry again unless underneath unbearable pain." Kagome got up and ran to the well as fast as her legs would allow.

She had already moved to her grandmothers for the rest of her life and traveled back in time by a closet so she could finish the jewel. She never wanted to go back again. How could she now? She would just have to finish up school and get a job or something. Oh who is she kidding?! She is so stupid trying to think positive thoughts at a time like this! She came to the well and jumped in with out her backpack and the little pink light followed behind.

****FLASHBACK ENDED****

Kagome had been running for a good time now and had finally found her grandma in the kitchen. She went to Genkai and Genkai turned around. Kagome kneeled down with serious eyes and no tears. "He killed them Genkai. InuYasha….killed Sango, Miroku, Shippou, Kirara." Then Kagome broke down. (I would say this is enough pain to go through don't you?) While Kagome cried her tears turned to stones and she stopped crying. Five different colored stones lay on the kitchen floor before them and Kagome gasped. "I am just like Yukina!" Kagome picked one up and it shone in the light from a near by window.

To say Genkai was shocked was an understatement; she was so stunned by Kagome's tears. Not because they are so valuable or because this means Kagome is part Koormie; but because they were different colors.

She looked into Kagome's eyes and saw that they were rapidly changing colors. "Kagome, we need to talk to Yukina." Kagome nodded and stood. Genkai walked her to Yukina who took immediate action to the sight of Kagome's wounds from falling so many times. Yukina stopped when she saw the five different colored Tear Gems in Kagome's hands. Yukina looked like she was going to cry when Genkai stated, "She made them herself." Yukina nodded and then her look of content ness went to shock.

When she found her words she blurted out politely, "You are a Koormie?" Kagome shrugged her shoulders. Kagome kneeled to the ground on a mat to be healed.

Genkai thought for a moment then walked behind Kagome after Yukina healed her. Kagome wondered what was going on back there when all she heard was <RIIPPP!>. Kagome then felt the cold air reach her back. `Genkai tore my shirt!' Then she heard a gasp.

"What is it!?" Kagome asked in panic. Genkai walked in front of Kagome and motioned for Yukina to go look at Kagome's back.

Yukina looked and had the expression of feeling faint. On Kagome's back was a large circle out line. Inside the outline of the circle was a drop fro water, a leaf for plants, a flame for fire, a lightning bolt for electricity, a sun for light, a moon for dark, a snowflake for ice, a cloud for weather, and in the middle of the surrounding elements and powers was the marking of the Shikon no Tama and the Kanji words for `Chosen' over the circle on the outside of it and on the bottom and sides. Yukina did the first thing that came to mind and went to go find a camera that instantly develops so Kagome could see.

Genkai went back behind Kagome and studied the markings. Kagome was itching to know what was going on when Genkai beat her to it. "Yukina is getting a camera that instantly develops. There is nothing bad on your back it is just a really nice marking, a large one at that. It covers your entire upper and middle back but for some reason dodged right before your neck and your shoulder blades. It is emitting a good amount of energy for just a little marking." Yukina rushed in the room with a camera and asked Genkai to move so she could take a picture. When it developed Yukina handed it to Genkai who handed it to Kagome.

Kagome's eyes widened. "Chosen?" Genkai and Yukina shrugged. Kagome looked over the markings on her back. "Elementals Genkai?" Genkai nodded. "How did you know to look on my back?"

"The power coming from it seemed to have wanted attention." Kagome nodded and sighed. Genkai added in, "Happy Birthday, Kagome." Kagome's head dropped. `So many things go on in my life in one day! I can't take it! Why did the gods feel to pick on me? What god have I angered to deserve such a harsh life?' Kagome sighed again.

****With Yusuke and Gang****

Everyone had been called to see Koenma again for something `urgent'. Botan was smiling and flying on her oar, Kuwabara was saying random things like `Kitties' or `Boxers and Whitey Tighties', Kurama had his eyes closed and was thinking, Yusuke was complaining about `Stupid Toddlers' and `Keiko's frying pan', and Hiei was, well, Hiei is just Hiei and was leaning against a wall.

Koenma came in and started, "Alright glad all of you could make it!" Yusuke was about to open his mouth when Koenma snapped, "Don't say it Yusuke! This mission is more important then the Dark Tournament so shut your big mouth because this is important!" Yusuke shut up and Koenma went on. "Now, I have all had you brought here for a special mission." Koenma picked up a remote and clicked it to a large screen. A girl with raven hair and a green and white uniform appeared. Yusuke and Kuwabara shared the same thoughts as each other `Hott baby!', Hiei and Kurama thought different thoughts.

Kurama, `She is gorgeous. I wonder how our mission involves her.'

Youko, `Who cares? Let's just take her!'

Kurama, `Please Youko. Not now.'

Youko, `Fine! But you have to get her!'

Kurama, `Bye!' *pushes Youko in a closet with a bazillion locks on it.*

Hiei was on different though, he was thinking up something else, `Who is she? She is one of the most beautiful- what the hell? Anyway, who is she? I suppose this mission can prove interesting.'

Koenma also had thoughts of the girl in his mind like, `Man I am glad I made this picture a poster to go in my room. She is so pretty. Anyway.' "HEY!" Everybody stopped looking and stared at Koenma. "Thank you. Your mission is to find this girl and bring her to me while she is asleep. She has the power to create and destroy the universe but doesn't know it."

"WHAT!?" Kuwabara and Yusuke said at the same time.

"Shut up!" They quieted. "Her name is Kagome Higurashi and lives in Genkai's temple. She is Genkai's granddaughter." Another `what' came from the two buffoons and Koenma got mad. "Just leave already!" He made Botan create a portal and they all arrived at Genkai's place.
