Kagome felt like her life was finally starting to come back together again. The last year had been extremely hard on her. Just thinking about what happened had her heart constricting painfully in her chest. Shaking her head to dispel the memories she continued getting dressed. She wore a deep blue kimono with a gold dragon on the back and gold trim. After putting on her shoes and fixing her hair Kagome left her room and headed to the dining hall for breakfast.

She now lived in Sesshomaru's place in the Western lands. They had become very good friends after Sesshomaru had offered his help with destroying Naraku. He was always there for her when she needed him and had taken on the roll of big brother in her life.

Paying attention to the present Kagome pushed open the huge oak doors and entered the dinning hall. She succeeded in taking two steeps into the room before she was hit by a flying ball of fur. " Good morning momma." Shippo cried. Chuckling Kagome looked down at her kit. " Good morning Shippo." With a small sigh Kagome pried Shippo's arms from around her neck and carried him to the table.

Taking her seat she placed Shippo in the chair next to her and turned to greet the other people at the table. " Good morning Sesshomaru, Good morning Rin." Kagome said cheerfully. " Good morning Kagome-Chan!!" Rin cried as she bounded out of her seat and caught Kagome in a bear hug. " Good morning Kagome." Sesshomaru replied with a small smile on his face as he watched the antics of his young ward.

After some careful maneuvering Kagome was able to get Rin back in her seat and started to eat her breakfast. " Kagome." Sesshomaru addressed, once everyone was settled. " Hai Sesshomaru." Kagome answered giving him her full attention. " I just wanted to let you know that we will be having some guest arriving later today. " Who? " Kagome asked curious now. " " Some of the Lord's from maikai ( Spelling?)." Sesshomaru answered. " They are coming for some meetings on alliance treaties between the Lord's of maikai and the Lords here. They will be staying for about a week."

After letting the information digest for a moment Kagome replied. " Am I to stay out of the way while they are here? I don't want to cause any trouble." " No you may do as you please." Was her only answer before Sesshomaru excused himself from the table to take care of some business. After watching him leave Kagome returned to her meal. She was slightly nervous about the having the lords of maikai visit but decided not to worry about it. She had gotten used to having members of demon royalty drop in unexpectedly and knew she would probably just be ignored like usual.

After Kagome finished breakfast she took Rin and Shippo to her room to work on they're reading and writing lessons. It took them almost four hours to get any thing done due to the constant questions and complaints from the kids. Knowing that the Lords were supposed to arrive any time now Kagome decided to take the kids out to the gardens so they could have some fun before they had to return to their rooms for the rest of the night.

The palace gardens were beautiful they were filled with every plant and flower you could imagine. There were also huge groves of trees and a couple hedge mazes. Kagome decided to go and sit on one of the white marble benches while the kids went to pick flowers. She watched them for about a half an hour as the made necklaces and rings out of flowers and then get involved in a very intense game of tag. After they had completely wron themselves out Kagome decided they should call it a day.

Sending the kids inside Kagome sat quietly for a few more minutes before getting up and heading inside herself. Just as she was about to start down the path back to the palace she bumped into something and fell, or she would have fallen had two arms not snaked around her waist and held her up.

Blushing in embarrassment Kagome looked up at the person she had ran into, only to succeeded in having her breath catch in her thought. Holding her was probably the most handsome youkai she had ever seen. He had golden eyes long silver hair that fell almost to his knees. He had a long silver tail the fell just short of the ground and perched atop his head were the most adorable fox ears she had ever seen. ` Gods he is hot!'

Blushing again at her thoughts Kagome got her feet back under her and turned her attention back to what was happening. "Gomen," Kagome said shyly. " I should have watched where I was going." The fox youkai before her merely shrugged his shoulders. " It's fine no harm done, by the way what's your name?" He questioned. " Oh sorry I'm Kagome Higurashi, and you are?" Giving Kagome a blinding smile the fox held out his hand. " My name is Youko Kurama pleased to meet you."
